Think of it as The Craft meets El Barrio.
The Revenge Artist is just a tad bit similar to your typical high school story: just your shy and utmost attractive, antisocial, art freak developing the hots for the most popular boy in the school. But wait, can't forget the aid of witchcraft as an added bonus. Aside from the whole black magic situation, the novel covers themes not seen in your typical YA novel. From topics of bullying, sexuality, first loves, and so forth, Hoy digs deep on these topics ...more

I received this book as part of a goodreads giveaway. To be honest the book started out pretty slow and I probably would've stopped reading if it weren't the fact that I got it for free. But I'm so glad I continued reading because I ended up loving this book!! Once the plot picked up I found myself being pulled along an emotional rollercoaster ride. There were points where I stop reading to take all the emotions of the book in. I would highly recommend this book.

Pretty good book about typical high school drama, with supernatural elements.
Plot
Evelyn is out for revenge on a popular clique at school after they film her about to have sex with one member, Garvey Valanzuela. She thinks she can have revenge through certain magic abilities she can utilize with her sketchbook-what she draws comes true, but equal harm comes to someone Evelyn cares about in order to balance out the scales. Meanwhile Evelyn might be falling for a dude named Sammy.

Very well written, and a very intriguing storyline, and hitting on high school and the highs and lows of being in school, along with the social issues of sex in schools, self-cutting and bullying. But this book takes that to a new level.
This books leaves a lot of decision making up to the reader, and any of the answers that you come up with, would not be right, or wrong.
