Another interesting textbook written in a friendly style with a kind of personal touch. In one chapter, this author even used photos of himself to illustrate the stages of development in human growth.

John and I particularly enjoyed this course because of the friendly, relaxed teaching style of the professor and especially because of the kind of tests he gave. He lectured on each chapter for two class periods and then we had a test, so that meant a test about every week. The tests were mostly 40-50 multiple choice questions and they were not tricky like some teachers can make them. It was absolutely necessary to read the entire chapter and study it and the notes taken in class so there was considerable work involved, but the information was fairly straight-forward and simply required a lot of focus and memorization. John totally amazed me when he was the second student finished with his final…he handed his test to the professor, gave me a triumphant smile and a thumbs up, and sailed out the door. (He sits on the opposite side of the room as I.) I still had 1½ pages to complete! My concern was that he had not double-checked his work, but he later confidently said that he found the test easy and he thought he did well. And as it turns out, he was right! He got a 92% on the final and an “A” in the course.

This text was used to study a Diploma program in psychology. Although information it did contain contradictory contents as it pertains to technical areas which according to other researches would have shared differences in ideas and conceptions.
