I heard about the series from the colorist who I met at a FCBD event at a local comic book shop. It seemed interesting so I wrote down the title and left it at that for a bit. I then was at SVCC and saw the 2 volume series available.

So far the story isn't very deep but it's enjoyable and I love the art style. In all truth this is very much a series for a younger audience and if I was reading it at 9 years old I'd probably like it more. That doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to reading the next volume, luckily I own it.

I like the art. Very colourful.
The plot was weak. Not much character development. Nonetheless, a sweet story.
I like the Gremon - his "tough guy" appearance is just a façade. He's a softy on the inside

Felt super ham fisted and undynamic. The story was very generic and ultimately forgettable, and the characters very archetypal and flat. Underwhelming, and I've no interest to read the second book bc I can already see how it ends and my tbr list is long enough without it.

There were a couple of places where the course of events was hard to follow, but overall this is a creative and interesting concept. I look forward to reading more.

3.5/4 stars for fun and colorful art (good visuals for powers!) and a sweet introduction to a new story.

I got to buy my book from the author and illustrator at NY Comic Con this year and they told me the next volume would wrap up this storyline nicely. I'm excited to see a continuing series that'll can do that! Will be on the look-out.
