Okay, so the first book I have read in a long time is a really nerdy one. I read this for my Northern Renaissance art history class. Lane's prespective is that, to really look at the altars and altarpieces of Campin, van der Weyden, van Eyck, and others, we have to remove these works of art from museums and think of them in the contexts they originally belonged in, as altarpieces and private devotional works.
