Ralph Emery has always had the best seat in the house for watching country music grow from its rural American roots into a multinational billion-dollar business. A very good book about country music. I enjoyed the stories and got to learn some things about some of the earlier singers and songwriters.

Not being a country music fan, I thought twice about buying and reading this book. But I was pleasantly surprised by some of the compelling anecdotes and memories of the author.
