Josh "Limes" Harris is good with computers, great at fighting, terrible with people. As an accomplished hacker for Bear Claw Security, he's used to providing support from the office…and never leaving it. So when he's forced to take a bodyguard job because the client insists on hiring him, he's one grumpy bear. Especially when the client mistakes him for one of the bad guys and attacks him. Limes is ready to walk away, until he realizes the sweet brunette with killer curves that just swung at him might just be his mate.
When Jamie insisted on hiring the tech guy at bear security, she was hoping to work with someone quiet and nerdy and unassuming, unlike the other big, bad bears there. Instead, the tech guy turns out to be the most intimidating of all, a giant bear shifter with tattoos, bulging muscles, piercing green eyes and a permanent scowl. He’s determined to stay and protect her, and with the forces on her tail, Jamie doesn’t have much choice. Even if men like Limes, tall and hot and intimidating, always make her want to run and hide.
But the longer they're together, the more Jamie's fear is turning to attraction for her sexy, strong protector. And Limes feels that Jamie brings out sides of him he didn't know existed. He's truly falling for the gorgeous girl he's guarding. Now he just has to keep her safe long enough for them to have a happily ever after.
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

I found Jamie a bit of a doormat, not with Lime's so much, but just with everyone else. I don't know, just didn't love her character much. Lime's I liked better, but I just found the whole story frustrating on some level. I just didn't really connect with either character I guess. :(
It's hard to put into words why I guess, but just didn't love this one. It's totally safe though. No mention of either one of their pasts, and they used condoms until the end.
I wanted to give a M/f shifter genre a try & out of the 4 books in the series this books' storyline seemed good. But thats' all it was good at! I'm hugely is discouraged to read this genre!
The female has such a weak personality & the only person she stands against is her own mate (whom she fails to recognize)! Gosh couldn't take that! Wished someone could have said please skip this book dear! The #3 in BCS has good storyline but I'm going to give some other author a try before I call quits!
This writer is continually impressing me. She has easily moved up on my "favorites" list. This book was no exception. The characters were not only likeable, but relatable. I adored the hero and the heroine, as well as the secondary characters. The plot was fast moving and well executed. I also love that it was offered as a kindleunlimited.
A quick easy read and fortunately, not as formula as I was expecting. I would read this author again!
Limes and his military buddies have a protection company and he is the curmudgeonly scary looking geek. So Jamie thinks he would be the best guy at the company to help keep her safe from her old pack. (A bunch of misogynist jerks).
Jamie has had to deal with men who push her around her whole life. So she's uncomfortable around big alpha kinda guys. There's an instant attraction/pull between the two. In fact, Jamie seems to have a strange pull on most men...
My one complaint is that I found the characters to be less than what the author claimed. I still liked them... but Jamie as about as 'alpha female' as a rabbit, and Limes wasn't nearly as rude and gruff as the author wanted me to believe. I understood why Limes was supposedly a jerk, his back story was heartbreaking.
Bear-ly a Hero By Terry Bolryder. 3 out of 5 stars. Jamie is in trouble and needs a bodyguard to keep some people away from her. A trip to Bear Security solves that problem for her and she insists on hiring their IT expert, under the impression that he would be a geek. Unfortunately for her, he isn't. Which is something she finds out when he turns up at her house, fuming mad at being forced to do field work rather than play with his computers. Bad goes to worse when she attacks the enormous hulking thug, that breaks into her house, with an umbrella, giving him a black eye. Jamie is absolutely mortified when she realizes that the giant of a man that is standing in her doorway and seething mad with her is her bodyguard, and vows to go back to Bear Claw Security the very next day and get rid of him. The problem is that now he's seen her, his bear doesn't want to go. I would recommend this book to others.
I really liked Jamie and Limes. When Jamie shows up to Bear Claw Security looking for a bodyguard she takes one look at Bronson and Cage and decides to look elsewhere. When they tell her there is one more employee, the tech guy, she immediately pictures a nerdy guy and hires him sight unseen. Boy is she in for a surprise. Limes is big, has a shaved head, tattoos, and piercings - definitely not nerdy. Limes doesn't even want the job, or at least he doesn't until he figures out that Jamie is his mate. Now all he wants to do is protect her and smash whoever is out to harm her.
Definitely 3 STARS worthy, maybe even and extra 1/2. I felt there was more growth in this one, so it makes me want to continue the series. If, as I hope, the series continues to get better with the next book, I think I will up this one to 3 1/2 STARS. My only issues were toward the ending, where I thought something needed to be explained better, but I have a feeling the author addresses it in another series, which would be meaningful if I had read that series prior.
This is the second book in the series. This is Limes and Jamie's story Limes is the grumpy, large and tattooed computer wiz of the firm. Jamie is a hacker and hires Limes to be her bodyguard under the assumption he is a nerd. Wrong Limes is anything but a nerd. Will she do any damage with her weapon of choice when they first meet? Will her stalker be caught?
Bear-ly a Hero was the 2nd book in Bear Claw Security. A really enjoyable book to read about the intricacies of love, fate and being too afraid to show the most important emotion;love. But it puts forth some of the issues we as humans go through to come out the other side right or wrong.
The love story of Josh "Limes" and Jamie. Jamie has come to Beat Claw Security to get a bodyguard because someone is trying to scare her. She is afraid of big powerful male so she want a nerd. So she as for Limes, the term computer hacker. Can Limes find the person who is scare her and save her? Great story.
Limes may be my favorite bear from this box set, at least so far. He lives up to his name but not his profession. So when he is hired sight unseen as a geek, the girl gets way more than she bargained for. The only book I think I have read so far that the shifters can talk after shifted.
I'm not even 1/2 way done and i already cant wait to see what happens next. I cant wait to find out who her "stalker" is so limes can handle business...
Never come between a Bear and his Alpha Female wolf mate
An okay read but I found Jamie, yes a female with a males name, very weak and wishy washy. I can understand why with her packs behaviour but I would have liked a bit more gumption, especially with that horrible boss. Loved Limes/Josh and was sad when he talked about his sister.
Once again we have a great story, fun characters, and a HEA the hits all the right notes. Limes was a phenomenal character and I was rooting for him through the whole book. I can’t wait to read Bronson’s book next.
Bear-ly a Hero by Terry Bolryder is book 2 in the boxed set series Bear Claw Security. It is a well written story, with good entertaining characters. I enjoyed reading this story. Thanks
31/2 star rating. I enjoyed this installment of Bear Claw security. It was a pretty good read. I wished the heroine had been a little more "alpha". I liked it enough to start the next book.
What a fantastic read. The series gets better and better. Hot sexy guys, smart, intelligent , sexy women. Some twists and turns all with a happy ever after. A must read.
Good story. Full of questions as to who was after Jamie. What was he mysterious background and what happens next in their relationship. Still good story.
Terry Bolryder captured my heart and soul with this book. That is the sign of a truly gifted author. I can't even begin to explain the emotions I felt while reading this book. I felt sorry for her, I laughed (so hard at many scenes I nearly pee'd my pants and my chest hurt), I got mad for her, I wanted to go all Hannibal Lector on the bad guys, and you cannot help but fall in love with Limes, he is a GOD among men, and I envy Jamie because she has LIMES as a body guard!!!!! :) The story line is fast past, and well laid out. The characters are defined, lively in their own way, and well explained. The is no guessing on the characters. You are drawn into this book and you do not want to put it down. An AWESOME READ, for ages 18 and up because of the explicit sexual scenes. I promise you will not want to put it down.
Josh "Limes" Harris is a bear shifter who works at Bear Claw Security with his war buddies Cage and Bronson. he is the tech specialist for the company which means he has to be good at hacking computer systems, great at fighting, terrible with people. He is called Limes because of his sour disposition. Because of his skills as an accomplished hacker he provides support from the office…and never leaving it. So when he's forced to take to protect a client because the client insists on hiring him, he's one grumpy bear. All bets are off when the client mistakes him for one of the bad guys and attacks him with an umbrella. Limes is ready to wants to walk away, but he can't when he realizes the client with killer curves that just blacked his eye may just be his mate.
Jamie goes to Bear Claw Security to get her a body guard. She is so intimidated by the size of Cage and Bronson that she ask for the tech person, the NERD, hoping he would be quiet and less intimidating. Jamie is overwhelmed when the tech guy turns out to be the most intimidating of all, a giant bear shifter with tats, bulging muscles, awesome green eyes and a permanent scowl. Limes is determined to stay and protect her, and with the evill forces on her tail, Jamie realizes that she does not have much choice. Even if Limes is tall hot, intimidating, and looks like a GOD he always makes her want to run and hide. Oh lets not forget she has a secret hobby and he has a tattoo he will not tell the story behind.
As time goes by Jamie and Limes find it hard to stay away from each other. Jaime fears she growing too attached to her handsome hero and Limes if feeling things with Jamie he had never experienced before. Limes knows that he falling for the beautiful, curvy girl but he has to find a way to protect from the evil that is after her.
I am not going to give any spoilers because I feel you need to read the book in order to get the value of this book. A must read for ages 18 and older because of the truly amazing SEX scenes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Josh “Limes” is the perfect blend of grumpy and lovable—a tech genius bear shifter forced into the field and immediately thrown off by Jamie, the curvy, anxious woman who decks him at first sight. Their dynamic is funny, tender, and full of sparks, especially as their opposites-attract chemistry morphs into something deeper.
Jamie’s fears and vulnerabilities feel realistic, and watching her learn to trust Limes—and herself—is a major strength of the story. The slow burn between them is balanced beautifully with moments of action and sweetness, and Limes' transformation from socially awkward recluse to devoted protector is super satisfying.
It’s a great blend of heart and heat, with just enough danger to keep things exciting and a swoon-worthy happily ever after. The Bear Claw Security world continues to charm, especially when the nerdy guy turns out to be a total alpha.
BEAR-LY A HERO-A THRILLING SIZZLING ROMANTIC STORY.
The story focuses on; LIMES (Josh), a strapping, grouchy, powerful bear-shifter, the hacker for Bear Claw Security; JAMIE, a curvaceous, intelligent, beautiful she-wolf with a secret hobby.
What you'll find in this story; remarkably impressive and engaging characters, fantastic story-line, dynamic scene descriptions, phenomenal banter, camaraderie, gut-wrenching moments, action, horrific danger, life-threatening incidents, emotions spiral, jaw-dropping heart-pounding sensual romance, and a melt your heart conclusion leaving you wanting more.
Jamie is being stalked, has received hostile letters, and wants a bodyguard for protection. When she goes to Bear Claw Security and meets Bronson and Cage two extremely large strong-armed men she wants to hire Limes sight unseen believing he will be nerdy and a lot less threatening in size. Limes has a past that haunts him, leaving his heart cold and sour, loves not working with people his only friends his partners. When forced to work for Jamie he goes to her home to tell her to hire Bronson, but after meeting her, she captures his attention, catapulting him into full protection mode. Danger lurks in the shadows and is coming after Jamie.
WOW/SPECTACULAR-fast paced well written creative read by a truly gifted author. Exhilarating read from beginning to end and I loved it. The characters are convincing and spring to life with vivid scene descriptions, the plot, and fantastic dialogue. The romance is filled with fiery passion.. Limes is definitely a most valiant hero who you will adore, and Jamie’s courageous persona makes a her a most valiant heroine. I eagerly await Bronson's story. If you treasure shifter romance this is certainly a terrific book for your library. {I received a copy of this book for a completely honest review}. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book.
The cover description pretty much gives you Jamie and Josh’s (Limes) story in a nutshell.
Jamie is being stalked, and also followed – she has an idea of who is after her, and why. Those details don’t quite make it to her bodyguard at first however. Jamie has reason to be afraid of those who were after her, but her fear translates into anyone who is bigger than her, stronger than her, or simply intimidating. Pretty much every guy at Bear Claw Security, and Limes was the biggest guy there – which if she’d not demanded to have the company computer hacker as her bodyguard she might have realized that sight unseen isn’t always a good way to make choices. You know those stereotypes – computer nerd hacker = small, skinny, geeky safe guy. Ah… no. Not always. And Limes wasn’t all that much better, to be fair. He is most definitely not a people person, and his grumpiness is obvious especially after being attacked by his client. He’s the good guy, dammit.
I enjoyed Bear-ly A Hero very much. Usually I like a strong female (or mate) to our obvious hero – and Jamie was everything but strong. I kept waiting for her to show her stuff, and in some ways she did but she wasn’t as strong a woman as I’d usually expect in a Shifter Romance. Which just goes to show that we shouldn’t make assumptions, even about characters. We aren’t all strong all the time. We have times when we just cannot stand up for ourselves or we’re more submissive than we might otherwise be. Sometimes life just beats us down and we are not strong – but that doesn’t always equal weak. Just because Jamie was afraid of everything didn’t mean that she couldn’t be stronger when she needed to be. No, Jamie is certainly not a kick butt heroine, but with Limes at her side I’m betting she’ll be stronger over time and maybe in future stories.
If you love Shifter Romance I would definitely recommend checking out Bear-ly A Hero or the entire Bear Claw Security series.
If you don't laugh out loud in the first two scenes of this book you have no funny bone! I knew I would not be able to quit until I finished this book. I loved it. If you read book one, you met, cranky, rude Limes. His nick name has nothing to do with the color of his eyes! Limes doesn't work with clients—that is if the security company they run wants to keep said clients. So when shy Jamie insists on Limes being her body guard, site unseen, the guys are worried but what the client wants.... Jamie is a sweetie with a history. Stalkers with scary notes bring her to Bear Claw Security. It is funny and surprisingly sweet watching big ole bad Limes deal with this shy shifter gal. Watching both of them change and deal with the situation is funny and steamy. Neither one wants to admit the draw of the other. Limes laughed at his partner's response to his now wife and office manager. Secretly he wished true mates were a reality, but he sure wasn't telling the others. Not that Jamie is his mate, not happening to him. He does feel protective and vows to never let her be afraid again. Read and enjoy the two feed off the other to become better, and find what they thought was the impossible. Another winner from Terry Bolryder. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
