Kristyn - Reading to Unwind
This book follows Rosalyn who takes her first job cleaning hotels for the summer. During this time she meets Victor a guest at the hotel. After meeting Victor her life completely changes. Rosalyn was adopted after her parents where killed, but not before spending some time on foster care. Rosalyn has a great caregiver who is doing the best that she can do for her.

Things I really enjoyed in the book was the friendship that we could see between Rosalyn and Derek. He seemed to be wanting only the

She found herself employed during the summer as a maid at a hotel, where she finds an intriguing boy. Rosalynn makes it her mission to find out more about this mysterious boy while trying to battle the drama that is high school, a place where she just does not fit.

I was really excited to read this book. When I started the actual reading part, I was a little let down. I don't want to give

Falling Light was an interesting book, but had too many similarities to Twilight to stand on it's own. (Now, don't get me wrong, if you look back at my reviews of the Twilight Saga, the ratings are high, but keep in mind that when I initially read the series, I was 14, and I haven't read the books since, so I don't actually know if I still like them, though I won't deny I did enjoy them at the time). To sum up my opinion - Falling Light, at it's base, has a good mythology, but lets itsel

This book just had WAY too many similarities to Twilight for me to enjoy it that much. I will explain but fair warning this review DOES contain spoilers so don’t read this is you don’t want to know.

****SPOILERS****

Okay so here are the reasons that I am giving this book such a low rating:
1.Okay so here are the plot points that are exactly the same as Twilight:
•Almost rape scene
•Having a meal (In Twilight it was a dinner…but just changing the tim

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Falling Light by Dayana Morency was a pretty fast paced story, unfortunately there were so many Twilight similarities, it was distracting. I don't know why, but I thought this was going to be about vampires. It was actually an angel story. So, that was a pleasant little surprise. I like some of the angel lore that was brought in. These were a different kind of angel, not your people loving protector angels, at least not all of them. They were pretty vicious. I

Pros: Great story idea, great characters
Cons: ran a bit fast, not always easy to follow
Overall rating: It was good, but it edges on something I might not recommend.

Review:

I was given this book on the condition that I would given an honest review.
I think this book has great potential. The story line is great and the characters are good. I just struggled at times with the book as a whole. I think that there were times that things got rushed. I also think that some parts moved too slow.

I dunno how I felt about this story, I mean it was an interesting different story and I had fun reading it, but nothing stood out to me, it all kind of felt rushed and random and I felt like it needed more of an overall threat or something that everything came back to and just more twists and surprises it just for me felt a little too easy and like nothing was really happening, like I didn't feel like she was in danger or he was a threat or anything, I dunno I'm rambling now, it makes sense in m ...more

This book is free on Amazon with the kindle unlimited program so I decided to download it. It’s a YA paranormal romance, although, in the beginning, I initially thought the main character (Victor) was a certain paranormal creature, I won’t say which in case of spoilers, but turned out, he’s something totally different and totally unexpected. I loved the twist and the ending had me on edge! This book reminded me a lot of Twilight, which in my case is a good thing because I really enjoyed Twilight ...more
