Ok this is a really clever book! I'm enjoying the learning curve…

My synopsis

Jack is a transmasculine man that enjoys being a BDSM bottom. He is taking his time working his way through his transition, is supported well in the Trans/BDSM community and loves his life on his junk rig sailboat in the Caribbean. On one such voyage he finds a mysterious island and discovers an even more mysterious inhabitant.

Eve wants to change the world. Her m

You know that feeling you get when the blurb for a book sounds almost too perfect to trust? That is precisely how I felt when Dena Hankins first pitched Lysistrata Cove to me. I mean, a mysterious uncharted island; a superstar with an illicit plan for restoring creative freedoms; a transmasculine gender explorer (and BDSM bottom); and not one, not two, but three kinds of cops. I was hooked, and I was excited, but I was also afraid there was no way it could deliver on the promise inside my head . ...more

Hot doesn't begin to describe the sex and kinky play scenes in this book, OMFG SO HOT!!! It's rare in a romance-genre book to get to be a voyeur on more than just one central couple getting it on -- this book showcases multiple couplings and triplings, which my poly heart just LOVED. The chemistry between the characters is convincing and compelling. The zing goes beyond the bedroom (and the dungeon and the sailboat and the patio...) too, beyond physical satisfaction, such gorgeous love stories a ...more

Transmasculine Jack Azevedo runs charter trips on his sailing boat around the Caribbean. His peaceful existence is disturbed after he finds an uncharted island with a beautiful sandy cove. It seems to be too good to be true, and ultimately is, as the cove is jealously guarded by a sultry, fiery inhabitant, Eve la Sirena.

Eve is in hiding from the world. A former diva and singing superstar, she is in the midst of plans to restore creative freedom to her fellow musician. But what she is doing is il

This story is told in third person and from dual point-of-view. Given it’s my favorite type of narration, the writing style alone was a win right from the start. The story flows well, and is exceptionally well polished, another thing to treasure.

Speaking of treasure, there are no pirates in this story, but a huge amount of page time is dedicated to the daily maintenance of sailboats. Something I didn’t expect but in hindsight the first line of the blurb should have clued me into. I’m not saying

I received a free copy of this book to read for Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very different book than what I thought I was going into.. Then again, it had been a long time since I'd read the synopsis for the book so I'd forgotten most of it.

I'll start with one of my biggest issues being that Jack is transgendered, and everyone just automatically knew or assumed and that was a very weird thing for me since that's not a normal thing. People don't think that

I loved this book an incredible amount. The characters were so real, and I found them so relatable. The kink was hot hot hot and the scenes were so dynamic and amazing. Also, there's a trans main character, so that was a huge plus in my books! Would recommend to anyone who loves adventure, kink, and trans characters.

Captain Dena Hankins writes aboard her sailboat, preferably in a quiet anchorage. She spent eight years as a sex educator, soaking up the most stimulating stories of human sexuality, and is honored to provide some tales in return. She is a queer, poly, kinky, adventurous sailor with so much left to learn!

Being a military brat, wanderlust is deep in her, and she has been sailing since 1999, coverin
