I just adore all of the winter themed picture books by this author/illustrator duo that spin off of classic children's songs. Definitely go for the full size book rather than the abridged board book editions though -- the board books leave so much out and they are so much better in their full versions.

Very silly rewrite of the folk song following a group getting ready to welcome their good friend polar bear home for the season.
It mostly flows, although this part is tricky:
"We will cover her in gifts when she arrives,
Then we'll slap out paws, high-ones and toes and fives."
But as long as you are in a silly mood, no one will care.

Talk about creative! This book brought me back to my 2nd grade classroom and singing songs with my teacher. This book is fantastic. I loved how it told the cutest story about a polar bear and her arrival home. I could not help but sing the words to the tune of the song! Such a clever way to tell such a sweet story! I must add that the illustrations were very cute too.

Fun but long. Sung to the music of "She'll be Coming Round the Mountain", the animals of the north are waiting for their friend Polar Bear to return. No story, just pages and pages and pages of preparation before she finally shows up.

The animals wait eagerly for the polar bear to return. They have a whole celebration ready. To their shock, she has a surprise too - new cubs.

New take on an old song. The arctic animals anticipate the return of their friend Polar Bear who left them last fall to hibernate. They prepare the cabin, practice their synchronized kayaking, and plan the party. When she finally returns, the friends are excited and delighted with Polar Bear's surprise!
