S and I co-read this book to the girls (I read the main text and I made him read all of the speech bubbles). So it was a useful book for him to get in his nightly reading time, but I wasn't a fan. I didn't understand the story at all. Obviously, it would help tremendously if I'd seen the movie, but I haven't, and without that background this story just doesn't make any sense at all. There aren't enough details to follow the plot.
S has seen the movie, though, so he liked this just fine.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens [9780545940726]
Fun take on the film's story, with additional marshmallows, s'mores, ice cream, oh and alternative ending, “Once everyone is safe … party!”

Quotable quotes:
“Waaaaugh!”* - Chewie (* we get that a lot!)
“But I'm too pretty to get eaten!” - pirate on Han's freighter
“I tried calling. I swear!” - Han to Leia

Great book for lego and star wars lovers!

Great stuff. Really captures that kooky Lego adaptation sensibility. Too short though! I want more! (So does Jack).

9/10

May 2019 - Ben's choice from the school library, this is fun for LEGO/Star Wars fans but not particularly effective as a read-aloud. Best if you've enjoyed the movie and want to revisit it.

Typical Lego book. Humorous as always.

My son liked the comic book panel style and the little asides added a touch of humor.
