I received a copy from Netgalley for a fair and honest review.
I guess I was expecting more from this than I got out of it. I guess this could be helpful for people new to blogging but I found this to be full of stuff I already knew. To be honest some of the tips seemed dated and I was surprised that the author knew about YouTube but not about the booktube community. I did find some good blog sharing sites from this. At one point I thought the author's use of language was a little too lax and see

This book is a great reference guide. It isn't something that I, as a nonblogger, am going to understand all at one time. However, since I have interest in one, I will read it over and over again.

From the reason why people book blog to how to be noticed and the difference between hosting sites, this book is a go to manual many will use in the future. It is also quite the inspirational book, as well. For instance I would never have thought to use it to get my child involved more in reading. Grea

Well, like many people I fell into to blogging by accident a couple of years back. I love to read, added reviews on amazon of books I’d read and started getting authors requesting I read their books. From there I joined a site aimed at reviewers and saw they prefer those with a blog. I didn’t really understand the whole blog thing but had subscribed to a few ar

This book was a fantastic read on how to improve my book blog. It was quick and simple and easy to get through. At the end of the book there was a technical help section where one could go and view youtube videos on how to do the technological things, which is necessary for someone like me who is hopeless with technology. There were great handy hints on how to get your blog out there more and the best ways to network. I look forward to implementing her ideas to the blog and seeing the progress I ...more

In The Book Blogger Platform, author Barb Drozdowich calls upon her own personal book blogging experience to write a very informative and thorough step-by-step guide to creating, maintaining, and enjoying book blogging.

As a book review blogger since June 2010, I wish I had this awesome guide when I began to think about creating a book blog that would share my passion and love for reading with other bookworms. As I read through each chapter of the guide, I found a lot of valuable information, adv

I’ve been toying with the idea of setting up my own book blog for a little while, but have never been sure where to begin, so I was keen to review this book. I wasn’t disappointed. Barb Drozdowich has had her own book blog for some time, so has lots of first hand experience.

It started with the very basics of book blogging and goes through every stage of the process in detail explaining all the options (and there are many) right through to keeping your blog going and becoming part of the wider b

As a book blogger (albeit and occasional one), I was really excited to hear about The Book Blogger Platform and to read it. I expected to find advice that would help me build my blog platform and engage a new audience. There was a bit of that, but the book focused mainly on the technical side of setting up a blog.

If you know very little about how to start a Wordpress site or open a basic account on Blogger, you'll find The Book Blogger Platform very useful. However, as a blogger with a few years

The Book Blogger Platform, written by Barb Drozdowich, is a good beginner’s guide to book blogging. It is well organized, covers a good amount of ground, gives clear explanations about using the most popular platforms, and offers some really good advice.

The pictures, unfortunately, were too small for me to see clearly, but perhaps they show up better on other, newer devices (I have a Kindle Touch). I also felt the author was a little too opinionated about platform choice.

Very good tips and information, I'm now following many more booksblog than before, so if you are interested in writing a blog about books this is the right tool to start with. I was only a little bit disappointed that there were no information about sites like Netgalley and Edelweiss, that would have made me happy, and also definitely ruined what's left of my "real life".

Ottime informazioni e suggerimenti, ora ho molti piú blog sui libri da seguire, quindi se vi interessasse scrivere un blog di

A great guide to those who are just starting out in the world of online blogging, and a welcome refresher for those who just need a few tips to perfect their platform. Barb Drozdowich uses the perfect tone to help readers start their journey. She is not condescending, or assuming that you know everything like some books are. It certainly helped me reflect on what I'm doing well, and what I could be doing better. I love the layout of the book, it takes you step by step and doesn't bounce all over ...more

I am a beginning book blogger, but most of this was common sense elements. There are aspects that are beneficial though and I would recommend it for some one similar to me but that does not understand the components of blogging already, like post title etc. Also she mentions she is biased towards WordPress self-hosted services and it shows. It felt at times I was getting a do it this way instead of a helping hand towards what should work for me. I want to figure t

I'm thinking of starting up yet another book blog and as always I went in search of information to help me in my quest.

The only thing that I noticed that was off was that YouTube and Instagram were mentioned in the social media sections, but not the BookTube and Bookstagram communities. But I did just look at when the book was published and perhaps they weren't as big back then especially Bookstagram.

But yeah great information. Neatly packaged. I didn't really look at any of the videos though I

I was really hoping that The Book Blogger Platform would be a really easy read that would make using WordPress a little bit more easy for me. I won’t lie, I am not the most technologically advanced of people out there. I wanted a jargon free (or at least a book that explained what the jargon meant) book that give me step by step guides on how to spruce up my minimalistic little blog.

I didn’t get that.

Instead, I had another book that bogged me down with words that I don’t understand and to be hon

This is a nicely presented step-by-step guide that allows one to use either WordPress or Blogger to set up a book blog with a minimum of fuss. The great information presented makes me wish I had read something like this when I started, it would have saved me a bit of time. I, too, have blogs in both platforms and have had my share of issues using each, but I think that the author does a wonderful job of providing screen-shots and clear guidance. *This book was given to me by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review – all opinions are my own.*
This was definitely an interesting and useful read if you're a blogger or about to start a blog. I've personally been blogging for years now so I found a lot of the book a bit to beginner for my liking, but some information was very useful regarding the 'book blogging' area specifically. I would definitely pick this up if you're thinking of starting a blog about books.
