Epic romance, two heroes at a time! My story universe features warriors and blacksmiths, rescue swimmers and hockey players, treasure hunters and time travelers, and quite a few shifters. My favorite kind of hero: a grumpy f*cker who’ll do anything for the man he loves.

Novel-length ebooks are free on wide vendors.

Happy reading :)

Meh. This was okay but it would have been better if the author hadn't separated this book from the previous one because it didn't have enough happening to be as enjoyable as it could have been. In addition, this was another one of those installments where the author couldn't be bothered to make any character sound like they were living in the 5th century, which was annoying.

The majority of this book deals with Marcus' testicular cancer and this is a me-thing but graphic medical stuff grosses me out so I didn't like reading about the surgery details. Also - I'm really not a fan of Marcus and Wolf casually discussing sex things or genital things with their son Matthias . There was a scene in a previous book where Wolf is fully aroused and Matthias barges into the bedroom and Wolf stands up, completely naked and fully erect because he wants Matthias to see what he was interrupting. In this book, Matthias is assisting in the surgery so he spends a lot of time throughout the book handling his father's genitals and discussing them. It's probably my personal background but I find interactions like that inappropriate and gross. I acknowledge that the folks at the stronghold didn't have many options when it comes to medical care and Matthias is the only one even remotely qualified to assist Philip in medical matters (now that old Marga has passed away) but I still don't like it.

The only part of the story I did like is that

The rest of the story was overly sappy cheesiness. I didn't like either of these things because they were boring and I didn't like the details involved:

In general, I'm annoyed that the author keeps introducing new elements to the story that should have been introduced a long time ago. I'm especially irritated by the 'reveal' that It's so unfortunate that much of this series' potential has been lost along the way due to the author clearly not having plotted out the entire series thoroughly before publishing each installment. What a shame.

Overall, this installment felt very average and I'm longingly thinking back to the well plotted, well written parts of the series, like Book 3. If this one had been combined with Book 6, I might have given it 3 stars because the cancer plotline was unique but the book wasn't interesting on its own.

The dilemma was excruciating - read this, knowing the next instalment is not due out until April or put it away until March - I couldn't help myself.

It felt as if I were under the knife, poised for the sting of the blade - pain and pleasure in equal measure (eat your heart out Shakespeare) - relief so tantalizingly close ... and then Wolf places my heart between his hammer and his anvil and strikes - OMG!

I enjoyed this - can you tell?

Reading this series is like making love in the dark.

Weld picks up immediately after Fracture (#6).

Phillip and Matthias has returned after months away, to find Marc's condition has worsened, and the tumor on his testicle has grown. Meanwhile, Britte has borne Matthias' child, Cai. Britte is angry at Matthias for leaving after she shared her pregnancy with him during an argument. Marc is resisting the idea of healing beyond herbal remedies. However, when confronted by Matthias, Phillip, and Wolf, he agrees to have surgery and have the tumor removed, which goes well. Over the next few weeks during his convalescence, Marc tries to talk to Matthias about his courtship of Britte, which isn't going well. Meanwhile, Marc appears to be having erection dysfunction related to his surgery. And in his forge, Wolf is secretly working on a new metallic ore.

This entry was well thought out. Several different plots wind up being resolved or progressed. I liked it for the most part.

Four stars.

Picks up at the end of #6
Medical crisis dealt with.
Young couple butting heads because he speaks to her of logic and stability instead of the love he has for her - averted.
Recovering from medical crisis - now that's the crux of the story. Will Marc and Wulf survive the potential loss of Marc's physical abilities in the bedroom?

What is about weddings that always makes me cry? Why haven't more people rated and read this series? How come it took me this long to find Marc and Wolf? All questions best left for another day, I'm afraid. This installment had me tearing up in quite a few places as it neatly wraps up the arc to Marc's health scare and the tumultuous courtship between Matthias and Britte. There were quite a few surprises and hiccups to get to the happy ending this go around, but it was well worth the wait.

I try to avoid romances that span for much of a couple's lifetime, because there's always a sense of melancholy watching as the best parts of their lives past by and dreading the impending end as they reach their golden years. Nothing is quite as good as it was in its prime, but despite this, Wolf and Marcus show us that there is more to be had even as the years go on. That love can grow to a deep and abiding partnership that nurtures every aspect of your life in the good times and the bad. Of course the sexy times still happen, because when two people love each other as Marcus and Wolf do, the fire never seems to slake.

Mia West has created this quiet world built by Marc and Wolf giving it breath and life with its supporting cast and its turbulent times. Viewed through the stalwart perspective of Wolf and the ever resilient Marcus, we are given their lifetime built through an unbreakable bond of love and trust. It's not quite the end yet, but many things come full circle for Wolf and Marcus in this installment and it was a touching and moving experience to have shared in so much of their lives already.
