A powerful story set within Welsh history. Garth and Taron must find their way through the political landmines that encompass them. Garth is a powerful character who is determined to gain the love of Taron, someone he has loved since childhood. Taron realizing she is being used as a political pawn in a powerful chess game must decide how to venture forward and retain the love she desires. I loved the detail related to Welsh history and both the dialogue/banter that took place. Very well written, moved at a good constant pace and a page turner from beginning to end.

This is my first Paula Quinn novel and I very much enjoyed her writing style and the unique setting for the story. It was a journey for the HEA but ultimately I was happy at the end.
