Seventeen-year-old Sophia Bandell is scared of boys, and her biggest fear is dying. Boys make her uncomfortable and itchy and dying is …well …dying. She is ecstatic when her long lost friend calls her, inviting her to spend the summer with her on the beach at Charleston, South Carolina.

When a plastic saucer hits her in the head as she’s sunbathing, Sophia has no idea it wi

I was transported into the mindset of a teenager spreading her wings towards independence while still easily ruled by her heart and wistful emotions. Was this why Sophia so easily fell under the spell of a summer away from home visiting a long lost friend and finding a boy she pictured marrying and spending “forever” with?

Spend the summer on the beach of Charleston, SC and watch a young girl blossom, grow and face her fears, hopes and desires head-on, only to discover she was part of unfinished

Ok. I will start off the bat by saying YA Paranormal Romance books are not my typical novels. That being said; I do read a lot and I can recognize a talented writer. “Everlasting” by L.K. Kuhl was an enjoyable read. Once I got into the mindset to suspend some sense of reality and take the story as a fun escape I got caught up in the characters, the plot and the ‘world’ the writer created. I liked the girl, Sophia, and her love interest, Tate. I also liked her friends and the too-big-for-his- bri ...more
The Book Junkie Reads . . .
At 17, I was not thinking much of spending a entire summer away from my parents on the beach with my dearest friend. I certainly was not afraid of boys and dying was not even on my radar. L.K. Kuhl has brought me a beautiful, intriguing world of paranormal romance and fantasy wrapped in a subject that is not often approached by the young adults. Most young adults view themselves as invincible. Sweet Sophia is a realist and she knows dying is to be forever.

The day after 17-year-old Sophia finishes her junior year of high school, she leaves to spend the summer with her best friend, Mandy. She hasn't actually seen her in years, but when Mandy calls and asks her to come, she feels compelled to go. They are having a fun time and she meets a cute boy, Tate, but it's obvious (to the reader) that something is off. Sophia learns the truth about what's happening, which completely changes her life.

I'm not a huge fan of paranormal but was intrigued by the my

Everlasting (Everlasting Trilogy) by L.K. Kuhl

Ghostly Goodness! What a great read! Everlasting by L.K Kuhl was an exciting story about a girl named Sophia who received a phone call from her best friend Mandy which she hasn't seen or heard from for a few years. Mandy invites Sophia down to South Carolina for the summer to stay with her. This is Sophia's last summer before she graduates high school.
Sophia meets Mandy's boyfriend Matt. They have alot of fun together but strange things keep happe

I loved it!!

I did not know what to expect when I started reading it, at first I thought there might be vampires involves and I was never so happy to be mistaken! It was funny, sad and pretty much wonderful, though I spend pretty much the second half of the book wanting to strangle Aaron or beat him with a stick...

That says a lot about a story and the author's writing when you become emotionally involved with the characters and especially when it is one you are loving to hate so bad! Not a common

I've been reading so many good books lately! *knocks on wood so I wouldn't jinx myself* and Everlasting has just been added to the list.

This was a breathtaking book. The blurb, the cover and the plot is really well done. I was attached to Sophia from page 1; from the moment she got the call from Mandy until the last page of the book.

I kept reading and turning the pages because my curiosity was getting the best of me and I was eager to know what was going to happen. The whole concept, the writing

Wow! This was a great read! Yes, it's a paranormal story, but I enjoyed it a lot! It "felt" so real! From the minute I started the book, I was hooked. L.K. Kuhl--a brand new author for me--pulled me in as a reader. She kept it interesting, suspenseful and involved. I didn't want to stop reading. I read it quickly because I "needed" to know the end! Now, I can hardly wait until the second book in this trilogy comes out! I am very pleased with Kuhl's style of writing, and I look forward to reading ...more

Everlasting, by L.K. Kuhl, starts out well with an eerie phone call to Sophia, the story’s main character, from her former best friend Mandy. Mandy begs Sophia to spend the summer with her even though they haven’t seen each other in years, hinting that something has happened. Even though she immediately agrees, Sophia senses that something is off.

“I ignored the clamoring of my heart since I couldn’t reach in and slow it down.”

This line gripped me and drew me right into the story and this continu

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, Thank You.

The story begins with Sophia reminiscing about an eerie phone call from her old friend Mandy that leaves no doubt to the reader that something weird is going to happen. During the call Mandy asks Sophia to come spend the summer with her in Charleston. Upon her reaching Charleston Sophia realizes there is something strange about Mandy, but she ignores it in favor of enjoying her summer with her friend and Mandy's fian

Everlasting love or is it?

Everlasting is the story about Sophia Bandell, who receives an invitation to spend the summer with her long lost best friend. Sophia is so happy to reconnect with Mandy as they haven’t spoken in months and she misses her. Though a little scared and nervous about flying off to join her friend and being away from home on her own, Sophia is excited.

It seems that there is something just a bit off about Mandy and her boyfriend Matt. Why are Mandy and her boyfriend living alo

Likes: Everlasting starts out creepily enough with a weird broken phone call. I figured out the paranormal aspect quickly enough even though it is presented as a mystery. Khul has unique descriptions in her writing. The plot has plenty of potential and the characters were interesting enough, even if they made me shake my head. It did make me glad to see that Sophia grows a little and becomes less afraid of death.

L.K. Kuhl’s writing skills and imagination are extraordinary. The beginning of Everlasting is an innocent tale of two friends who had not seen each other in four years coming together once more for a holiday, but with each turn of the page, the story starts to become dark, sullen, mysterious and, at times, downright terrifying right through to the shocking climax. Animal control’s policy of euthanizing lost pets after 24 hours had my blood boiling in an emotional tug-of-war. Although so many dif ...more

When the author asked if I would like to review the book, I agreed, based on the synopsis. I enjoy paranormal romance, and I will happily get lost in fictional worlds for a few hours. This book, however, was just totally unbelievable - and I'm not talking about the paranormal elements.

Sophia is beyond childish and naive in her outlook - and talk about fickle. Madly, deeply and forever in love after one look, but agreeing to marry another in the next breath. The realism of the character reactions

This book was a good read. It was quick and easy, which is what I was in the mood for. I wanted to like it more but there was something I found a bit off-putting about Sophia. I couldn't ever put my finger on it. It was maybe a bit of naivety, I am not sure. I felt like I was constantly ahead of her and it irritated me always waiting for her to catch up. The ending felt a bit rushed but scattered and confused. Not confused in a sense of "what just happened" but confused more as what? why would s ...more
