I really liked the approach here of walking the line between devotional study and a decently rigorous adherence to the text. The book is both thoughtful and thought provoking. There are points at which it seems the author has overplayed the same point and stretches a bit. In all its a worthy study of David and good for contemplating your own life in relation to the lessons from his and from Saul's

Outstanding book using David's life as an example of our humanity and God's faithfulness. Great questions for self evaluation at the end of each chapter. One chapter deals with our struggle and the next with how to overcome it. Very practical.
