A fascinating collection, but be warned, these are letters home and not easy to read for hours straight. They are unedited and although filled with gems of information, interesting vignettes, and such they are replete with mundane details and repetition as an stack of letters would be. Still for anyone interested in life on the Western Frontier this is a great read.
