The various fabrics and touches presented here are highly entertaining when combined with a narrator that challenges the reader to be brave.

This board book won't stay on the classroom library shelf for very long. Youngsters will dare each other to open its pages to see the monsters and other scary things inside as well as even, maybe, touching various parts of the page. I liked how the author directly addressed readers, cleverly enticing them to read on as they encounter--if they are brave enough--eight reasons to be afraid. I'm sure young kids will enjoy this slightly scary/creepy boom - I reacted out loud to the touch and feel on each page.
