Not Really Christian Themed As I Thought

The author states in this book that it is healthy and natural to have doubt... Well I have some doubts.
The author is a psychologist and thus utilizes a psychological approach of transcendental meditation to talk to the god within you.
The author uses a lot of Scriptures in this book and even states that the voice of god u hear will never contradict Scripture... However Scripture states that No man can come to the Father except through Jesus and yet the author states that u can use his method regardless of any belief system which includes Buddhism and Islam... If one is supposed to make sure ur really hearing god based on Scripture then how is a Buddhist or Muslim able to use the Christian Bible to make sure its really God?
The Koran states that Allah has no son which means Jesus is not God's Son and His death was meaningless.
No where in the book does he talk about his Born Again experience but instead we read about his meditational method on how to talk to god. This book has a lot of New Age terms that speak of a god, a jesus and a holy spirit but this does not make it a Christian book which is what it tries to imply it is. If ur a Believer then beware of this book.
I gave it two stars based on the horrific childhood this author endured but based on what the Bible actually says compared to this book, i really have my doubts that this person is actually talking to the God that created you and me.

Excellent book.

I received more than I bargained for. The book isn't just facts about talking with God. It starts with the early life of the author. I read a sample before purchasing and couldn't put it down. I read the book in a day, unusual for me. I learned from the author's life as well as his information to the reader. He cites many sources I have read about mysticism. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to know God, or have questions., but also for those on their life journey with God.

From the coal bin to His glory.

This is one amazing experience. How can a small child be horribly mistreated, starved, locked in a coal bin at the hands of alcoholic parents, who are in a hell of their own, and yet find love and wonder in the presence of God. Of course, not before experiencing a hell of his own. This surely affirms the reality of a forgiving, loving and healing God.
