Cute patterns that are pretty easy once you figure them out. I made the babala hat on page 75. Once I figured it out and got it started it turned out pretty well. My gauge was a little off so it looks a little weird. That pattern, at least, you have to mind the gauge for
I love the concept but there were only 2 patterns I found interesting. There were others I liked but know I can find easily for free online. Adding to GR for reference.
No crazy shapes or funky construction nor glaring color ways here, every project is soothing and straightforward. That might translate to boring but I found a couple of them pretty enough to put on my to-do list (Square in Circle Pillow and Zinnia Pillow—and I'm not a pillow person). Instructions are mostly in text format thought there are a couple stitch diagrams. The book includes many photos and is nicely organized.
Overall, its a pretty neat pattern book. I would have easily given this five(5) stars if not for a couple of patterns thats quite difficult to comprehend against its claim of 'simple' crochet patterns on its front cover. One of the patterns got me in 'stitches' (pun intended) trying to figure out a round. So thats really frustrating.
I loved this book. Inspiring pictures and clear instructions. I already made several of the patterns. Unfortunately, the library wants its copy back. It would be nice to have a copy of my own. Hint hint to anyone out there looking to give me a gift. :)
I've had my eyes on this book for a few weeks now and finally downloaded it to my Kindle. The directions are simple and straightforward. I look forward to making some of the pillow projects!
Variation of cute patterns, several of which I want to make. Most of them looked easy enough, although the poof pillow's instructions went over my head. I want to return to this for the honeycomb blanket, a beanie, and a couple of the scarf patterns.
The patterns and designs are simple and accessible. I haven't tried any, as I have something else in the works; but I'm going to return to this one if for no other reason than the Circle Square pillow. Also, a cute pair of slippers that look like something even I may be able to manage.
We all need a bit if calm in our lives. This book contains 18 patterns, ranging from a simple granny square pillow, to a multicoloured hat worked with variegated yarn. The projects are divided into two groups; For the Home and Friends, Family, and you. There are basic crocheting instructions for the beginner or if you just need to refresh your skills. I highly recommend this book for all levels of crocheter. It will be finding a place on my shelf.
I loved the sock and slipper patterns, and the others are good for ideas. I can't read crochet patterns but think I can figure some of these out from the photos alone.
