I really enjoyed this book, it’s not your typical romance novel and it has a few ménage scenes that make it extra interesting. This is the only book I’ve read in the series and I didn’t feel I was missing anything by not having read the previous books.

Kendrick has had a rough past that he’s not been able to get over. His high school sweetheart committed suicide and when the autopsy was completed they discovered that she was pregnant when she died. Kendrick has been living with this knowl

Review of Kendrick, Torey Hope: The Later Years by A.D. Ellis

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Kendrick Jordan has always been a funny, happy guy. He has never wanted to have a steady relationship with a woman, preferring to sleep with as many as he can.

The free-spirit attitude unfortunately is just a mask for all the pain he hides. The loss he suffered as a teenager has scarred him for life. He just seems to keep sinking.

When he meets Jay, he thinks he is going to just be having h

I have LOVED LOVED LOVED the Torey Hope and Torey Hope: The Later Years series', swearing that each book is my favorite, but OMG! A.D. Ellis saved the best for last with Kendrick's story! Kendrick Jordan has run away from his family as the demons if his past started to seriously overwhelm him. During his time of space, he meets Jay Keller, who doesn't believe in love, and will not allow herself to get attached to anyone. They hook up, and keep hooking up with no strings attached. This book was not what I expected. It started and ended in a manner I never thought it would. That said it was a little difficult for me to get into the book, probably because I haven't read the rest of the series.

Kendrick was definitely an angsty read. Both Kendrick and Jay had a difficult past, but I felt neither really wanted to move forward. They were quite glad to stick in their own personal hell, which was a little immature. That said I loved the chemistry between the two characters. At f

Oh my...Kendrick. I love the whole Torey Hope series but yep Kendrick is my favorite. the ups and downs, the oh's and ah's wow. Kendrick and Jay's story is a wonderful story about falling in love when you think it not in the cards, overcoming some problems and being there for each other.

I have found in both The Torey Hope and Torey Hope: The Later Years series, that A.D. Ellis gives us stories of survival, hope, family, and love. In Kendrick: Torey Hope, The Later Years, she piles it all on in a story that grabs you and clenches your heart until the very end.

We pick up with Kendrick having run away from life as his past has finally caught up to him. He is hiding away and having fun living it up as only Kendrick can. Going from one girl to the next without thought or care. In t

Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Not a fan of the cover composition. The pose and shadow play leave the model looking distorted. His shoulder looks dislocated. Thankfully, the synopsis is intriguing enough to give it a try.
Looking Deeper:
Third person POV narrative.
First, I'd like to say that I've not read any previous Torey Hope or A.D. Ellis book and my review will be based solely on the content of KENDRICK as a stand-alone.

I was given this book in turn for an honest review

Kendrick has been hiding his demons for years; as time has passed, the pain has only got worse. Ready to face his demons and make a future for himself; Kendrick has to fight and the fight ahead won’t be easy. Has he the strength to succeed? Will the one person he can’t live without stand by him?

A.D. Ellis has pulled out all the stops with Kendrick’s story. I was really looking forward to reading the last book in the Torey Hope: The Lat

WOW this book started with a BANG !! I knew it was going to be a great book yet not an easy story to read. Kendrick has ALWAYS been the jokester , the fun loving , rowdy and crazy cousin of the group. Side jokes , sexual innuendos and the fear and excitement of never knowing what he may be thinking or about to say. OMG when Sawyer came out , Kendrick's curiosity made that so amazing , on top of all his winning qualities he also became bi-curious !! A lot of the humor that stays with me in these ...more

I have to say that I fell in love with the Torey Hope “gang”, starting with the very first book. Each and every one of these men that Ms. Ellis has gifted us with their stories, has touched my heart in their own way. Each of the characters have faced many difficult and painful times in their lives that have made them stronger and even more grateful for the wonderful love that they share with their families.
In the Later Years part of the series, we have had the pleasure of hearing the struggles

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Which I was happy to accept because I have enjoyed my previous visits to Torey hope.

A. D. Ellis did an amazing job with the final book in her series! The main male character Kendrick is a dirty talker, funny, and tries to hide a deep pain in his heart. When he meets Jaymison he goes after what he wants and doesn't back down on letting her know he wants her for his future. He has vulnerabilities and struggles that could ruin his desired future w

I have been impatiently waiting for Kendrick's story and I was soooo not prepared for it! Author A.D. Ellis outdid herself with this one - this book left me speechless, breathless and full of emotions. There was no way that the reader could ever predict what was going to happen next in this looping, curving, twisting, turning plot that just when you think you had it figured out - WHAM - she hit the reader with something else.

Another great book in the Torey Hope series and Kendrick's much awaited story. And definitely worth it!! Kendrick has his demons and they're finally getting to him in a way that he's going over the top with his behavior. His family has given him a time limit before they're coming after him. During this time he meets Jay and she intrigues him though she tells him this is fun only and she's not into a relationship. When Kendrick finally comes home he's ready to talk and gathers the family to tell ...more

Out of all of these I do believe this is one that has a lot of depth and pulls on your heart strings alot. Kendrick might be the joking guy but deep down he is the hurting guy. He then encounters Jay who them together will take one roller coaster ride. He finally allows his cousins and family in on some of the cause of the pain and how messed up he is. With counseling he goes step by step. This is one beautifully written that you soon forget that this is a character and it seems larger than life ...more

Once again, A.D. Ellis has written a fabulous story. As usual, she has tackled a sensitive issue and treated it with dignity and grace. All 7 of the Torey Hope books bring an important issue "out of the dark" and sheds light on it. She has shown that each of these issues is nothing to be ashamed of and they don't discriminate-- they can happen to absolutely anybody.

Kendrick and Jay make an unusual couple. At first glance, they appear to have nothing in common. As is often the case with love, fir

With Kendrick, Torey Hope: The Later Years, A.D. Ellis has ended the series. And what an ending. Kendrick Jordan is a fun and family loving young man beginning his adult life while trying to deal with his past. While close to his family, he doesn't share with them, trying to handle the past himself. He meets a pixie-like girl, Jay, who has a mysterious past she won't share with him. Kendrick Jordan seems to have it all: a loving, supportive family, wonderful friends and a promising career at the family Center. Always fun loving, sarcastic and with a smart ass sense of humor you'd think he's on top of the world. However, he has a secret that he's keeping that causes him to run. He meets Jay Keller and almost instantly feels he's found what's been missing his whole life. Jay is independent and runs from anything that resembles commitment but fate has other plans for her. Yet another of my favorite series is coming to an end, which makes me sad. Kendrick is a great story, tho! Very emotionally gripping, and there is a lot going on with him, and with his ladylove, Jay.

Kendrick's story started out with some things I wasn't expecting & didn't really like. I'm just not into some things & while I understood where they were coming from, from a story/character perspective, still not a fan.

All in all, tho, I loved his story. I loved the way his feelings for Jay

I absolutly loved this book. I think that it was my favorite one of the Torey Hope: The Later Years books, and that is saying something as they are all great. In this story, you are focusing on Kendrick. Kendrick has always been my favorite. He always had an air of mystery about him that made me want more and to learn more about what was going on in his mind. With this book, I got that. I was heartbroken, excited, and happy. This book picks Kendricks story up where book one left off. We get the rest of the picture of the drugs, other women, his girlfriend suicide and his baby's death. We see the struggles he over came and what he still needs to over come. After the car accident and drug use. Seeing his family come together to help him, and his battle to get better.

This story is written well. I didn't see any errors in the writting, story was solid and you have closure Kendrick gets his happy ever after. The reason I

it is my favourite of all the torey hope series
if you haven't read them, i highly recommend them
this is the story of kendrick who is a typical jack the lad who uses women like water and uses his wit and dirty one liners as a shield to hide from a sad past
jay rocks into his life and turns his life upside down
they have to fight threw depression and addiction to get to a happy ended

Love this book.

Kendrick and Jay meet during troubled times for both of them. Neither of them are looking for love or anything but both are running away from life in general. Love the way they meet and hookup. Very emotional book with a lot of rollercoaster feelings in this book. Tissues are needed at points but another awesome book from A.D. Torey Hope is a wonderful town and the families in this book are all awesome. The cousins help Kendrick a lot in this book. Love it.

After reading A.D. Ellis' ZACH from the Torey Hope series, I jumped at the chance to read KENDRICK when the book was released.
A.D. Ellis writes with emotion in her book, set in the fictional town of Torey Hope. The themes of love, family and acceptance are strong as in the previous books with added themes of recovery from loss and addiction. The subjects are dealt with a straight forward manner, including all graphic details.
The characters are strong, particularly Jay, who manages to grow as th

Of all the books in this series this one is my favorite. For me, this book was so much more relatable. The struggles each of these characters face are heartbreaking and to see how they deal with them makes it seem so real. I love the characters. I give this book a give star review and I am already looking forward to reading it again.
