This great pop-up book traces the history of the Universe from before the Big Bang.

Images include the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, comets, meteors, galaxies and quasars. Star charts, maps and a sky-watcher's almanac are included. Lots of information is also included in pop-out flaps.

Ok, sorry because I am not great at reviews. I read this book when I was really little and really loved it, even though I read it in another language, I am sure it is equally great in English. This book makes something that could be boring, interesting and exciting. It shows you the beginning and end of the universe, I will really recommend this book, it seems like it isn’t that popular, still it is great and exciting.

This was a good use of pop-up features to ilrustrate aspects of the universe with rotating tabs to show galaxy formation or comet tails and pull tabs to show linear progressions. This forty year old book still has Pluto as a planet and touches on black holes as being a fad.

This is the book that started it all for me. This book is the reason why I'm a bibliophile. As a child I used to look at this book in intense marvel.

This is a nonfiction popout book with different aspects of space talked about within it. It spans the universe from the idea of the big bang theory to the ideas of the eventual fate of our universe.

Illustrations are 3D and I am not sure what other medium was used but it appears to be colored paint.

I loved the interactive qualities of this book. I feel that students would really enjoy pushing and pulling the various different parts of the pages. I think that a warning would need to be given to students to take everything in the book with a grain of salt because it is not entirely accurate for it is now outdated.

A fantastic view of the universe with incredible sky-scapes (universe-scapes?) bursting forth from the pages. The majority of the text is tucked into fore-edge panels that swing out from inside each page. I would love to see a new edition of this book redone today with our current understanding of the universe which has changed over the past three decades. (Many things would remain the same, but it might talk less about Pluto and more about the Hubble Space Telescope.)

Another pop-up book that suddenly came to me the other day while driving in the car. I read / looked at this one many times. I believe it was passed on to my brother for his pop-up book collection and it is one of the cool ones he kept.

This is one of the best books ever made. If you can get your hands on one, read it, absorb it, buy it, cherish it, then share it. This is the perfect starter book for any well mannered child interested in the cosmos.
