Glory St. Pierre never thought so many lies could hold so much truth, especially when her entire life has been one of those lies. Now that she knows who she really is, she must find a way to come to terms with it before the Djinn sorcerer Rasputin and his steel army descend down upon the human and Djinn realms, wielding magic so dark even her own Djinn lover, Irving, is wa ...more

Oh my god! Dream of Me was freaking awesome! Of course I wasn't expecting anything less but I'm still amazed at the turn this book took. I loved it and finished in pretty much one sitting!

In this book, Glory is still trying to come to terms with everything she discovered in the first book, with herself being the daughter of Rasputin and her mother being a fierce Djinn hunter and everything else in between. To stop Rasputin she, Irving, her mother and aunt are going on a quest to find the Lord of

Book cover: Any book with a steampunk theme is bound to bring a smile to my face! The whirring cogs and gears, accompanied by the mysterious female profile, definitely point towards intrigue and adventure ahead.

I also like how the cover of Book #1 has elements that tie in with Book #2 - it keeps up the clockwork-and-shadowy-profile trend, this time in an aqua green hue. This way the completed series will l

snap review

On Tuesday, I reviewed the first book in The Djinn Order Wish for Me , and I really enjoyed it. If you haven't read that book yet, bear in mind that this review will contain some light spoilers!

I'm going to be honest here and say that I didn't enjoy this
Dream of Me was my first read of 2016 and it did not disappoint, although there were parts of the book that frustrated me.

I had a hard time liking Glory in this book. In Wish For Me she was a kick-ass chick but in this she drove me quite insane. She'd do something dumb telling herself she knew just how wrong it was but would do it anyways, and then turned right around, and would admit that she should have never done what she just did in the previous chapter. I can understand the occasional screw

Book 2 in the series picks up 2 weeks after book one ended, with Glory being brought back to life after her mother shot her. Not only does Glory have to come to terms with being alive, but also the facts that she is no longer Irving's master and her entire life has been a lie. Needless to say, Glory is not doing well with these truths. But she needs to put aside her hurt to focus on the fact that there is a war coming between the Djinn and the Hunters and she is caught in the middle. Glory needs ...more

Dream of me has exceeded my expectations by far!

I was so happy to follow Glory's adventures with the hot and sexy Irving! With a funny, sarcastic and loud mouthed protagonist like Glory, you're bound to have an entertaining journey! I really liked that Glory has never been and never will be the sappy kind, The author really breaks the mold with this book because normally it's the girl that commits and the guy is the hard one to bind but i

Dream of Me is the sequel to Wish For Me, and I'd suggest reading Wish first before jumping into Dream. Dream of Me picks up about a week or so after the events at the end of Wish For Me.

Glory and Irving's relationship is a bit on the rocks, and that's the least of their worries. Add in Glory's mom and aunt, the notorious Djinn hunter, Rasputin, and a bunch of secrets, bad choices, and crazy twists, and you've got one heck of a read.

When Glory and Irving have no ch

Glory sets off with Djinn and her family. The family of Djinn hunters. They need to help of four lords in hiding, to defeat Rasputin.
More secrets, lies and prophecies are revealed.

This is book two. Read Wish for Me before this one, and preferably read one and two back to back. You might enjoy it more that way.

Because I struggled with this one. Really, really struggled.

I LOVED book one, and eagerly awaited book two, exc

This skilled author did an amazing job keeping the momentum and suspense flowing through act 2. Another huge character graces the pages and I am being held captive by this storyline. Every pawn in this chess game has been carefully placed, and each time I think I know where each piece will move, another completely different strategy surfaces. Very grateful to have found this series and truly recommend this amazing read!

IT'S SO GOOD!! So much action going on and what a story that keeps me turning the pages. So many plot twists as you delve deeper into the story. I can't wait to read the last act!!

This book takes off exactly where Wish For Me ended, and follows Glory, Irving, Madeleine, and Elena on their quest to find Rasputin and save their realms from certain death. I really enjoyed the first book in this series (check out my review for more information), and whilst that makes the second in a series exciting, it also makes me a little nervous. Is it going to be as good? Is it going to be terrible and taint my opinion of the first? Is it going to be so awesome that I can’t handle it? Am ...more

This book was just as excellent as the first, if not more so. I had to refresh myself with the last chapter of the first book but it wasn’t too difficult to catch up on. The plot kept getting more complicated as the book went on, but it was possible to keep up with, even if it wasn’t incredibly easy. I think more complex plots are better anyhow.

Glory is just as funny and sassy as ever. She’s a very relatable character. I love how she speaks her mind even in the face of royalty, but I don’t love

I hate to say it, but this is a case of 2nd Book Bum for me -- all because Glory has to act like a petulant child. I liked her snark and sass in Wish For Me, and there's nothing wrong with standing your ground and being a tad selfish -- that's totally human, and it made her so real to me. However, this was too much, starting from annoying all the way to pissing me off.

Glory suddenly turned into your run-of-the-mill heroine who has to compare herself to all the other females she encounters, wonde

The big reveal at the end of Wish For Me shed light on Glory's connections to the Djinn. Fair to say she might have a personal stake in their fate, but once the Djinn discover what they are, they are not going to be happy. No matter; the only Djinn she really cares about is Irving, and those two continue to steam up the pages, regardless of whether they're fighting or working together.

It's not enough that they have to worry about Hunters, a vengeful Djinn sect and some of Irving's snooty relativ

A. Star does it again! What can I say? She slams us one sentence after the next. If you have not read the first book in this series, man you have got to get it! You will not be satisfied until you read both. I absolutely adore this writer. She brings the right amount of balance and sexy to her readers. You stay on your toes and you are moving with a nice pace in this one. I have read both books and I don't have one thing to complain about. The characters are really in depth and you feel like you ...more

Having said that I must start by stating that I liked this book more than I had expected to like. First of all, because YA isn’t my favorite genre. In fact, I was more interested in the steampunk aspects of the book, which are excellent. Second reason I approached this book with caution was some of the reviews I read where the reviewers complaint they had difficulties with the fact this series is not made of standalones. I thoug

I have a problem with this book. It's too short - I wanted more!

That aside, this novel was all about developing the relationships. But secrets and lies permeate those relationships, causing them to be tested. And, when there is a lack of communication, there is potential for misunderstanding.

The story-telling kept me on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. And, for me at least, it felt as though Glory's mother's feelings were the ones that were bleeding through the narrative and colouring

Please read Wish for Me before this starting this one. There is a lot of information to know and a reader may not understand fully.

What a joy, I am finding myself enjoying more of Glory story as I turn each page. I am also loving those hot and steamy erotic scenes. As for the action, bring on the apocalypse and a fighting army.

It's about relationships and communications. Of course there is more lies and secrets brought to limelight. Yes, they are so juicy. So everyone will be tested and misunder

A. Star is a fan of dirty passion. She loves to read it, and she damn sure loves to write it. She is the author of the Mythos: Gods & Lovers series, the Djinn Order series, and the Knights of the Joust series. She is a night-owl and a coffee junkie, and the only sneaker she would be caught dead wearing are Converses.
