I’m going to start this review at the end because the way this book ends is FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. After reading the first two books in the series, The Mark and The Accused, I was curious as to how this series would end. Would Governor Jameson declare someone a witch? Or, would he find them all innocent? Never in my wildest theories, though, did I ever think it would end the way it did.

Picking up right where The Accused left off, Jameson, with Abigail’s help, has but a few hours left to tes
This is a lovely conclusion to a short series of books which I have had the great privilege of reading. This author has done a great job of capturing the tone and style of the era the book is set in, the era of witch hunting and fear.
She has attempted to write in the style of how the locals would have talked around that time, which on occasion did throw me a bit, but didn't detract from the story, but added to the sense of mystery and fear of what the hell would happen next.

This trilogy was unique and intriguing to me. It was insanely erotic and peppered with unexpected twists and turns that challenge the characters emotionally. As a reader, my emotions were challenged too because the author managed to make me feel one way when my gut told me I should feel the opposite. Forced consent is a main theme in this series so as I was eagerly turning pages during some intensely sexy scenes, I was also thinking I should look away. When I cheered the final twist at the end o ...more

The final book has arrived! It's been worth the wait.
As with the first two of the trilogy, Arla Dahl keeps the reader writhing with anticipation, much like the Governor does to the accused.
The Watchman's story isn't what I expected, however the more I learned about him, the more enticing he became.
When all hope seems lost for the accused, the author provides a sensually satisfying ending to a long night of decadence.
If you haven't read any of this series, consider yourself lucky because now

This dark, dynamic story is a definite page turner! Complex characters and incredible sex scenes!

Spoiler Ahead This was book 3 in the "Immoral Virtue" series. This book picks up were the Accused left off. The Watchman and the Governor are friends and the governor doesn't want to believe his friend might be marked. During the examination the Governor uncovers a dark secret that makes him question his own actions. This book had a lot of hot dark BDSM scenes as well well as some good m/m action. I also loved the scenes between Giles and Elizabeth. This book was a good end to this series. This ...more

I have to admit that this isn’t my usual kind of novel. But I was really involved in this book and the sex scenes were really intense. I do have to admit at points was really confused and at points all I wanted to do was close the book and leave it be.
While I did end up getting caught up in the story, I have decided that the series wasn’t for me. But if you like S/M, M/M, forced consent, you should definitely give this trilogy a try. Maybe it’s for you

A New Yorker born and bred, Arla Dahl thrives on the rich diversity of her city - the languages, the foods, the cultures. By day she's an erotic author, avid reader, foodie with a taste for the exotic, photographer and animal rescuer. By night, she can often be found in some cozy jazz club since she is also a lover of music who simply melts at the sound of a smoky saxophone.

For her fiction, Arla t
