"Some guys call, some date, and some guys, they might even get married. But, sweetheart, I ain't any of those guys..." ~ Zeke Declan

Every girl in Galveston County knows about Zeke Declan's rules and has agreed to them or is considering them.
Rule #1 Don't call him. He'll call you.
Rule #2 He doesn't date.
Rule #3 No sleepovers.
Rule #4 Absolutely, no virgins.

When a couple friends talk me into going back to their hometown in the Bayou for the summer and challenge me to break "the best damn lay in Galveston County" along with every single one of his ridiculous rules, I'm confident that I can get the job done. I'm no stranger to men. I have five older brothers. I'm a teacher and I'm used to being around rebellious teenagers. However, Zeke Declan is definitely not someone that I could have prepared for. He's not a testosterone-fueled, immature boy. He's a confident, arousing, playful, and mind-melting man. But, behind that sexy charming smile, I know he's hiding a secret. And, in order to break him, I'm going to need to find out what it is...

Warning ~ This book contains explicit sex scenes, graphic language, and is intended for mature audiences.

***5 "Ride the Lightning!" stars***

‘I don’t want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.’
...by Oscar Wilde.

I love this series... I really do...
But i think that Zeke's book was the best of them all!!!

As you already know, everything started when three best friends decided to go to Bayou to spend the summertime and each one of them had a mission...
To break one of the Declan brothers...
The thing is that yes, they broke them, but the boys manage to break them too!!!

In the first book, we saw Emmie Rue to finally have a chance with her teenage crush... the older of the Declan brothers, Jax and i really liked this story!!!
In the second book, Rayna and Slate earned a second chance to love... and i think i enjoyed it way too much!!!

And the third book??? God, it was fantastic!!! And i will tell you more about it in a while...
The thing is that Kelly Gendron's writing have improved so much from book to book... Her writing style is more mature and more direct and i fuckin' loved it!!!

Zeke was the younger of the Declan brothers and he was also a fighter....
He was carefree and funny and he seems a really easy guy!!! Of course, he was gorgeous!!!

(Bahahaha... Sorry but i couldn't help it!!!)
His only flaw was that he was a major womanizer.... He loved sex, but he had some rules which all the girls that wanted to have a chance in his bed had to follow...
Rule #1: Don’t call him. He’ll call you.
Rule #2: He doesn’t date.
Rule #3: No sleepovers.
Rule #4: Absolutely, no virgins.
And of course, he wasn't doing any repeat with the same girl... EVER!
Yeah, i know!!! He seems pretty shallow, right???

But believe me, there was more of Zeke Declan than this facade...

Lurlene was a teacher. She was a lovely girl, still a virgin who was taking chances because of Rayna's pressure. Her mission was to break "the best damn lay in Galveston County" and of course, to get lay with a sexy and easy guy for the first time.... since her Prince Charming had lost his way...

Her first day in Bayou, she met a handsome and intelligent stranger who liked to quoting from books and she was pretty sure that he was the perfect man for her... But her mission was different...
Imagine her surprise when she is discovering that her mission is her "perfect man"... Zeke Declan.

Now, she is more determined that ever to break his awful and sauvinistic rules!!!

Well, Lurlene and Zeke were an adorable couple...
They were so funny and so sexy at the same time... They were pushing each other's button and i really enjoyed their interactions...

Lurlene was determined to break Zeke's rules, but Zeke was determined to stay the hell away from Lurlene... even though his plan wasn't working too good!
He wanted to push her away but at the same time she was the only woman that made him want more and that scared the hell out of him...
She was dangerous of his heart and he didn't want her to fall in love with him!!!

He could bring her only pain... He was just a broken man...
As for Lurlene??? Zeke wasn't what she thought he were and every day she was falling more for him...

She wanted so badly to throw down his walls and be with him...

When Rayna assigned me to break the best damn lay in the Bayou, I didn’t expect him to be ... like this. He’s more different than I ever imagined. The more time I spend with him, the more I like him as a person. Sure, he’s sexy, he’s cute, and he makes my heart and my thighs quiver, but he’s also smart, caring, and he’s comfortable with himself. He was until now. {Lurlene}

"It feels good, safe, and right to hold her in my arms. Even her kiss feels different, not like any other. I want to keep her inside my arms and never let her go. And I always want to let them go. Not Lurlene. She’s the adversary to my rules. She’s here to corrupt my strength, to challenge my control, and to steal my heart. I get that and I’m crashing. I’m defenseless against her." {Zeke}

So, what will happen with those two???
Who will break who???
What is hiding Zeke??? From what is he trying to protect his heart???

Will Lurlene manage to find the way to his heart???
Will she help him to fight the demons that his nightmares bring to him???
Will Zeke let his guard down and let Lurlene in???

"He’s afraid to get too close to me; that could be the only reason why he’s been holding back. The attraction’s there, sparks fly when we touch, kiss ... hell, just being in the same room is like the Fourth of July. He has to feel it too. I know he does.

As you can understand, i overenjoyed this book!!!
For all the above reasons... and i'm so damn sad that this journey had come to an end...

But i'm so happy because i discover that the next project of the author will be Lurlene's brothers stories and i have to admit that while i was reading this book, i was wishing for their stories...
So, hell yes!!! I can not wait!!!

4 Rules Are Meant To Be Broken Stars!

I've been dying for the youngest Declan brothers story. I was super excited when this landed on my kindle! I loved it!

Zeke the broken manwhore with a set of rules he never breaks.

 photo 1FFA83DE-402E-4404-8904-1B227F41AD76.png_zpsjjqbm0kc.jpeg

Lurlene is a very sweet teacher who teaches English. One day she's out enjoying the view at the park when a guy that's been out jogging sits next to her. He's got a hat pulled down low on his head but she's still able to see his beautiful eyes. When he starts quoting poems she's shocked and wants to know who he is. Imagine her surprise when she's out with her friends and runs into him and he's the one and only Zeke. The man she's suppose to make break all of his rules.

Zeke knows Lurlene shouldn't be on his radar. He knows she's not like the others. He knows he should stay away from her but he's having a hard time. He's also finding himself breaking his own rules he's had set in stone for a long time.

Palms sweaty and heart pounding hard in my chest, I come to the clear conclusion that I’m not the hunter here. I’m the prey. She’s not trying to hide her hunger. This sexy little predator wants to feast on me. Not even in the cage, getting my ass beat down, have I felt this trapped.~Zeke

I loved both Zeke and Lurlene. The chemistry between them was thick. I couldn't wait for Zeke to break more rules. Lurlene wasn't making it easy on him.

She draws a finger down the middle of my chest and swirls it around the tat on my lower belly as she reads the words, “Ride the Lightning.” “Yeah,” my eyes flash to hers with a smile, “and there’ll be no riding the lightning today, sweetheart.” I smirk with conviction. “No?” She moves from my lap, sliding down to her knees between my open legs. She looks up at me, her fingers finding the button of my jeans. She pops it open. My heart slams against my chest as more blood rushes to the tip of my cock. “No.” I clench my jaw. “Okay.” She pulls my zipper down, reaches in, and wraps her hand around me. My fingers clutch the sofa. My ass muscles tighten. “No riding then.” She withdraws my hard flesh and before my brain has a chance to tell my mouth to speak, her lips slide over my pulsating head.~Yummy!!!

Zeke was broken. He was there the night his parents were murdered and he blames himself. He was just a child when it happened but he's been living with the nightmares ever since. He hasn't told anyone. Not even his brothers.

Will Lurene get her way and break the one and only broken, cocky and very sexy Zeke Declan? Will she finally get to ride the lightning? lol You will have to read this one to find out.

Now why not a 5 star? Well I felt this one was a lot shorter than the first two books and I wanted more. The ending came so fast. I wanted at least an epilogue!! lol So there you go...I wanted more!

Zeke Declan is a man who comes with his own set of rules. Rules you must obey if you want to play:
Rule #1 Don't call him. He'll call you.
Rule #2 He doesn't date.
Rule #3 No sleepovers.
Rule #4 Absolutely, no virgins.

Lurlene is the woman who has been tasked to break each and every one of his rules. What does she have that the others don't, a mind to say no and the sexy teacher vibe to entice his appetite.
She’s the adversary to my rules. She’s here to corrupt my strength, to challenge my control, and to steal my heart.

Challenge accepted. They both have walls up for different reasons, and specific rules & conditions to keep themselves safe. But they quickly learn just how much they underestimated each other, liking the person underneath all the sexiness, sass and arrogance.
"You see me as a guy who only knows how to make a woman scream every curse word in her vocabulary while making her come. Well, allow me to inform you, Lurlene...I do have other aptitudes.”

“Such as baking pies, reading, and enjoying fine arts?”

Round and round they go, giving a little piece of themselves each and every day, until they are so far under each other skin they don't know where one begins and one ends. Problem is, this is supposed to just be a summer fling... isn't it?
“Tonight, I’ll go slow.” He unzips his pants. “Tonight, I’ll be gentle.” He removes his jeans and boxer, rising in all his hard smoothness and strength. “Tonight, I’ll give you something I’ve never given anyone before. Tonight, I will give you all of me.”

Zeke is full of playful banter and arrogance, fun times and living it up. It's a cute playful summer love affair, that was equally sweet and HOT. I jumped into Zeke's book without reading Jax & Slates book, so I'm about to quickly rectify that now. It wasn't because I was lost, it's because I truly enjoyed the pieces of them I got in this story. Recommended to my friends, who loves to see a naughty boy be tamed ;)

I enjoyed reading Zeke and Lurlene's story. Zeke is the know for his promiscuity and he even has a set of rules the ladies must abide by. Lurlene's not a fan of his rules and decides she's going to make him break them. I'm not a big fan of the general premise of the three friends being there to "break" the Declan brothers but this story was otherwise entertaining. There's are two parts where Zeke does things with other women after meeting our heroine and while the first could be explained as him not yet really knowing her or being involved, the second is definitely not dismissable imo I liked that we got to the core of Zeke and his heartbreaking past.

Zeke was the third and final book in the Breaking the Declan Brothers by Kelly Gendron.

All three books overlapped and began with three best friends going to the Texas Bayou for the summer. Each friend had a Declan Brother in their sights. Two grew up there and had history but one, Lurlene, was the new girl. Her task was to pursue and bring to heal, the best lay in Galveston County, Zeke Declan.

Gendron briefly retold parts of the story from the previous books from Lurlene and Zeke’s perspective and simultaneously launched into their progressing story. I was intrigued to see some of the same events from their perspective and to fill in their developing details. Technically it could be read as a stand-alone, but I enjoyed it more having already seen the progression of the other brothers.

I really enjoyed Zeke’s character and that Lurlene could see something else was underneath that he kept well hidden. I was intrigued with the back story and that’s what kept me turning the pages so I could uncover the layers of Zeke. As with book two, Slate, it was emotional and heartbreaking.

For the series in totality, the individual storylines are what kept me interested. There were details that were overlooked with such traumatic events, such as counseling that would have been necessary in each one, but overall, how each brother overcame their obstacle/life trauma was what kept me hooked. Zeke was no exception.

In the end, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Gendron also introduced Lurlene’s five older brothers, which set the stage for her next series, Daring the Kane Brothers.

Zeke is the youngest of the Declan brother's that co-owns the family bar. He is a notorious ladies man, but he had 4 rules that a woman has to agree to before he takes them home: 1. He'll call you, don't call him, 2. No dates, 3. No sleeping over, and 4. no virgins. And then he meets Lurlene, and she's determined to break every single rule.

I was really looking forward to this one after reading the first two in the series, but I felt a little let down by this one. I knew Zeke was going to be a real piece of work with those rules but there were so many times I was disappointed or just plain disgusted by him. He does a number of things to try to push Lurlene away because "he likes her too much" I just got really sick of it, really fast and almost DNF. Lurlene basically just laughs off the awful things that he's doing and continues to pursue him anyway.....really?! We learn why Zeke is the way that he is but I felt it still didn't take back the things that he had done. It was absolutely awful, don't get me wrong, but this one really just disappointed me.

I was expecting so much more from this book after the first two. This one starts off back at the beginning of Jax's and goes through Slate's and then more. I was expecting a whole lot more heat from the best lay in Galveston County. Then the book just ended. At least she's starting a new series with Lurlene's five very hot brothers.

This is the story of Zeke and Lurlene. If you have already read the previous two books of the series, then you already know that the three friends plan to "break" the three Declan Brothers and in this book it's Lurlene's turn. The story is really my favorite of the three of them. The plot is moving fast. The writing is really good. I love that the story starts in the beginning of the summer and we have glimpses of what has happened in the previous books through Lurlene's and Zeke's eyes. It was a brilliant way to have a reminder regarding what took place in the previous books without being boring or annoying. This book is also written by a dual POV and it is fantastically done!

Lurlene is really fantastic! She is brilliant and although she looks shy, she also has a very daring side. I love her way of thinking and acting. I love her strength.

Zeke is my favorite brother. He has issues like the other two and these issues have marked him really deep. However he is fun and reckless at times and serious and strong in others.

My favorite part of the book was their interactions. They were so intense and so full of emotion!

The end of the book was fantastic! I really loved it! It was not only the end of the book, but the end of the series and therefore we even got a bit of information to what happens with the other two couples. Really great end!

There was also a kind of surprise in the end, as we have a teaser about a new series that will be starting related to the five brothers of Lurlene! All through this book there were a bit of information about them and I couldn't stop wishing that a spin off series will come with their story. And now I really cannot wait to find out more about them!

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves reading a good love story!

I like the other books, JAX and SLATE. But since the beginning something was telling me ZEKE would turn out to be my favorite. And I was right. This book was the one I enjoyed the most.

In the second book, SLATE, the story start where the first one ended. But with ZEKE we go back to the beginning when the girls arrive at Rayna hometown to spend the vocations and to break the Declan Brothers. Lurlene and Zeke's story happens at the same time the other two couples so we see the others story from another point of view.

I thought the drama ZEKE went through was better told than the other ones. Not something totally new but it was an interesting story and it got me hooked to the book. I was so sad because of Zeke, I wanted to comfort him, but I also wanted his relation with Lurlene stop to be only teasing and became something more.

Before Lurlene looked like she was a saint but we were wrong! I loved the "new" Lurlene. Determined and provocative.

And all the time Lurlene mentioned her brothers I kept thinking " this looks like it will be a new series". And I was right again. In the end of the book the author reveals she will write about the brothers. I already can't wait to read it.

I thought the ending was too rushed but, I was happy with the way things was resolved. It ended the way it was supposed to. Like book one and two, this one has drama and also made me laugh a little. It's really an enjoyable reading (with very hot brothers) and I recommend it.

Super recomendo.

Oh, man, ZEKE! This boy just about killed me with his heartbreaking past and caring, loving nature. He was one thing on the outside, and another, softer thing on the inside and…

Sigh. That about sums it up.

I’ve read each of the books in the Breaking the Declan Brothers series, and I’ve really, really enjoyed them. They’re quick reads, sexy and fun, but with a dose of heartache and angst that just propels the story to the next level. Zeke, the third and final book, is no exception.

Zeke Declan is “the best damn lay in Galveston County” and he’s not shy about his rules. They’re in place for a reason, but when Lurlene joins her friends in the Bayou for the summer, she’s determined to break those rules—and get to the heart of why he’s hiding behind them… And it’s fun to watch her try to bypass them, one by one. She plays him, but she doesn’t do it maliciously, and it made me like her all the more. She was a sweet virgin, but not naïve, nor a wallflower. In fact, with five older brothers (yes, they’re getting a series, and yes, I will be reading said series), Lurlene has the capacity to be a bit of a ball-breaker. Which is awesome. I just love it when I can love the female as much as the male…

And I did love this broken, sexy AF male. Zeke was funny, hot (obvs!) and a fighter. My favorite of these three, completely loveable and panty-melting brothers. I mean, what’s not to love? Sure, he’s a player, but not a malicious one. I love a man that’s a bit of an asshole, but not a totally irredeemable one. And Zeke? 100% redeemable. YES! I felt for him—for the pain and suffering his past rained down on him—and I swooned for him. I got mad at him as he fought his growing feelings for his Picasso. And yet, I rooted for him to fight back against his demons and claim her.

Basically, I just straight up enjoyed every second of Lurlene and Zeke’s story.

The books in the Breaking the Declan Brothers series are fairly short reads, and easy to get lost in for a couple of hours. Perfect, really, for a weekend curled up on the recliner with a blanket and a warm drink. That’s how I read Zeke—in one sitting, until I was at the sweet ending to this book, and to this series. I’m sad to see it end, but yeah…excited about those five brothers! ~ Beth, 4.5 stars

Hmmm....not really sure how I felt about this book. It wasnt bad but it wasnt great either. If it hadn't been for the decent sex scenes to carry me through this short book I probably would have stopped. The storyline was just ok and I definately felt the lack of chemistry between the two main characters. It almost felt forced...

Lurlene and her two friends head out for the summer to the two friends hometown in Texas. They come up with this plot to win over the hearts of three town heart throbs (brothers). Zeke is the brother that Lurlene starts to fall for but Zeke has all these "rules". No having sex with the same woman twice, no virgins, etc, etc....It was just not believable, especially the reason why he has these rules. I wish that the whole reason was expanded on more. It is just kinda thrown out there and then glossed over and it just didnt seem truthful. The whole story just seemed rushed and alot of things about the past were jammed in there. I wanted to understand why he is the way he is and there are reasons but due to the lack of details it just fell flat for me.

The bulk of the book is Lurlene trying to get Zeke to break his rules...Ehhh, been there, read that...not much to see here.

this was a hard one to rate. While I enjoyed the character build up and chemistry between main leads. I am not a fan of h fighting his feelings and being with other women or kissing other women to make h jealous. once h & h start something I don't like them to be with other ppl. its a form of cheating in my eyes. Hence the low rating.

There are rules to being with Zeke Declan, rules that anyone he takes home has to agree to. He doesn’t give out his number, he doesn’t date, he doesn’t spend the night (and neither will they) and he most certainly does not do virgins. Oddly enough, women agree to these rules and he’s never had a problem…until Lurlene.

I’ve been waiting for Zeke’s story! Zeke’s story is the third installment of the Breaking the Declan Brothers series. You know that saying, “I’m a lover, not a fighter”? Well those Declan boys are both!
Lurlene has come to the Bayou with her two best friends, Emmie and Rayna, who happened to have grown up there and they’ve come with a mission; each one is going to snag a Declan Brother, make them fall in love with them then crush them. While Emmie and Rayna have history with the “sex on sticks” Declan Brothers, Lurlene hasn’t a clue that these men are a force to be reckoned with but she decides to play along. When Lurlene learns about Zeke’s rules she’s determined to break them one-by-one; and she does, pretty easily…except that last one, that one’s a little tricky. When she first meets Zeke, she has no idea who he is; the guy she meets is hot as hell but he quotes poetry and is extremely intelligent and charming. When she finally realizes that her charming guy is none other than the self-proclaimed “best lay in Galveston” she’s not quite sure what to think.

They both are instantly attracted to each other and before you know it Lurlene has Zeke breaking his rules left and right. In no time at all he’s programing his number into her phone, asking her out on dates, finding himself waking up next to her and enjoying every minute of it and then breaking the ultimate rule.

What I really liked about Zeke and Lurlene’s relationship was they went through stages. It wasn’t “we slept together, we like each other, now we have to figure how to be friends”. They built a friendship and along with Lurlene, we got to see more of that charming guy she first met and less of the man-whore he has a reputation for being. Of course there are some secrets, primarily on Zeke’s end but they eventually come out and you understand why he “dates” the way he does.
While I won’t say Zeke was my favorite book of the three (I think that honor goes to Slate), he most definitely is my favorite brother. I just kind of wanted to hug and cuddle him. While each book can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading from the beginning as they are all kind of happening at the same time.

I’m giving Zeke 3 Stars…Quick, easy read…sexy and very entertaining. We are introduced to one of Lurlene’s many brothers and I can’t help to wonder if there will be a spin off series about them...(hint, hint Kelly).

I kind of wanted more from this read...I am trying to figure out why it went by so fast. I know good reads and when they are over before you know it that means it was a good book...right? I don't know how to explain it. I felt that Slade and Jax were able to have more time invested in their stories and with this read you definitely had to have read the first two books in the series to understand. Zeke is still hot and he is the one with all the rules. Laurelen is on a mission and who can blame her!! Her only problem is his rules! This was a Good and fast read...just wanted more..more more! Ugh!

I'm thinking Zeke normally isn't a cuddler but he'll make and exception for Lurlene, “if that is what you want, yes. But I gotta warn ya, when I press against you, you’re going to feel how my body reacts to your ‘beautiful,’ and you’ll find no need to question whether or not I want to eff you.” Lurlene is quite the handsy woman, "I run my hands down his shorts, grab his fine a**, and yank him hard against me. “Ah,” his arms tighten, “what you think you’re a tough girl or something?” I enjoyed this book I loved the Declan brothers

When a couple friends talk me into going back to their hometown in the Bayou for the summer and challenge me to break “the best damn lay in Galveston County” along with every single one of his ridiculous rules, I’m confident that I can get the job done. I’m no stranger to men. I have five older brothers. I’m a teacher and I’m used to being around rebellious teenagers. However, Zeke Declan is definitely not someone that I could have prepared for. He’s not a testosterone-fueled, immature boy. He’s a confident, arousing, playful, and mind-melting man. But, behind that sexy charming smile, I know he’s hiding a secret. And, in order to break him, I’m going to need to find out what it is.

•••••••••••••••

REVIEW: ZEKE is the third and final installment in Kelly Gendron’s contemporary, adult BREAKING THE DECLAN BROTHERS erotic, romance series focusing on MMA fighters and bar owners Jax, Slate, and Zeke Declan from the Bayou Vista /Galveston County Texas. This is MMA fighter and bar co-owner Zeke Declan, and high school Manhattan English teacher Lurlene Kane’s story. ZEKE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order as the events in ZEKE run parallel to the events in JAX and SLATE (books 1 & 2).

Along with her best friends Emmie and Rayna, Lurlene has come to the Texas Bayou for a summer vacation and with it the friends have focused their time and seduction on the three Declan Brothers. Rayna and Emmie have a history with two of the Declan Brothers, and these two friends are determined to ‘break’ the boys for sins of the past. Lurlene has been set up to ‘break’ Zeke Declan, but Zeke has already been broken by a dark and deadly past.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Zeke and Lurlene) ZEKE follows Lurlene a ‘virginal’ high school English teacher who sets about seducing Zeke Declan. Zeke has a set of rules that all women must follow and Lurlene intends to break everyone. What ensues is the push and pull of attraction and need, and Lurlene’s attempts to stop the demons that are intent on destroying what’s left of Zeke’s soul. A few nights with Zeke uncovers the truth about Zeke’s past, and the guilt that weighs heavily on his shoulders and mind.

ZEKE is a bit of an emotional story line with issues of trust, betrayal, vengeance and guilt. Zeke is a man who believes he is not worthy of love, and Lurlene is a woman out to prove that everyone deserves love and a happily ever after. There is plenty of anxious moments and sexual tension. The $ex scenes are intense, erotic and provocative.

With the appearance of Lurlene comes her brother-boxer Token Kane -and the introduction to Kelly Gendron’s new spin off series-DARING THE KANE BROTHERS-Token, Steel, Nix, Stone and Crash. Token’s story is expected sometime in 2016.

ZEKE wraps up the Declan Brothers and reveals what happened to the family years before-the murders, the fire, the unnecessary guilt of a young boy, and the struggle to survive in a world of hurt and shame. The premise is fast paced and revealing; the characters are heartbreaking and energetic; the happily ever after is a welcome expectation. Sexy men, sexy stories, sexy happily ever afters.

Book 3 in the Breaking the Declan Brothers series. This book can be read as a standalone, and is told during the time frame of both Jax and Slate, but I recommend you also read them. They are both really good reads and you will get to know both the main protagonists in Zeke that little bit more. If anything it makes for a much more rounded story.

Lurlene is spending the summer on the Bayou for one reason; to help her friends Emmie and Rayna in their mission to break the mighty Declan brothers. Charged with breaking the youngest brother Zeke, Lurlene is a long way from Manhattan and her sedate teaching job. A virgin at 25, if nothing else she plans on getting laid by the best lay in Galveston county. But Zeke isn't what she expects, and she soon finds herself wanting to break his rules for herself, rather than just to win the silly task set for her.

Zeke Declan lives by 4 rules: Don’t call me, I’ll call you. I don’t date. No sleepovers and absolutely no virgins. If a woman wants him, then who is he to say no, but they must follow the rules; no exceptions. Until one day he bumps in to a fiery red head with emerald eyes. She is the only woman that has made him reconsider his rules, and as much as he can’t stay away, he knows he must. Zeke doesn't have the rules for the sake of it, he does it to protect himself, but more importantly to protect others. His love is dangerous and Lurlene is too special to risk the darkness his love will bring.

I really like this series. 3 friends versus 3 brothers, but all with very different personalities and very different stories. After reading Slate’s book, I wondered how Kelly could top it. Well she did it very cleverly, that is how. Zeke is such a cool dude. Everyone loves him, he just has that aura about him. But as so often in life, it’s the brightest stars that carry the most baggage and Zeke is one of those people. As for Lurlene, well having grown up with 5 brothers, not much can shock her. She is immune to the games that Zeke plays and totally sees through him. They strike up this unlikely pairing; the manwhore and the virgin, but oh how it works.

These are the only books I have read by Kelly Gendron, and I can honestly say I have enjoyed all 3. Her writing has a nice easy to read flow, is descriptive without being too wordy and draws you in very quickly. If I had to give a negative, it would be that all the books, including this one are over a little too quickly. However on the flipside, that is only because I enjoyed them so much… I just wanted more of these great characters.

A really enjoyable series, and one that leads into another. Yes, Lurlene’s five brothers will be getting their own stories. From what little we read about them in this book, The Kane Brother’s series is certainly one I will be looking out for.

A sexy, easy read, but one that has a surprisingly deeper element to it as well. Great book, indeed great series.

Be still my heart…an inked up MC who can quote great literary minds, kick ass and take names in the MMA cage and who's known as the "best damn lay in Galveston County?" Yes please!!

When Lurlene's friends Rayna and Emmie coerce her into spending the summer in their hometown of Bayou Vista, TX with the goal of breaking the three Declan brothers, Lurlene is skeptical. After all, she doesn't know Zeke Declan from Adam, and besides, she's a virgin. According to the notorious "rules" that Zeke has in place, she's not exactly the kind of woman Zeke would even look twice at.

Zeke is known around the Bayou for being a good lay, not for his long term potential, which is A-OK in his book. Except, when he meets Lurlene, he gets the feeling that she sees more in him than any other woman ever has...and he's so screwed.

UNGHHH, Ms. Gendron, if you found a way to bottle the potency of your MC's, you'd be a mad genius! ZEKE is the third book in the Breaking the Declan Brothers series, and like the first two, it packs a wildly erotic and emotional punch. From word one, your heart just breaks for the hell that Zeke has gone through in his life. You just want to grab him and stroke his back and whisper that he'll be ok, big mama's here. Lurlene (sorry to all named Lurlene, but it doesn't give me the warm fuzzies for a MC when all I can picture is a 75 year old big haired, gum snapping diner waitress whose sexy days are behind her) saw through his BS almost immediately, and witnessing Zeke's subsequent panic mode was sweet.

Speaking of sugary goodness, while there was lots of romance, the good stuff took a back burner to the two of them getting to know each other as platonic friends, something that was good for Zeke's ego and a solid foundation for their blossoming relationship. The sexy duo had mad chemistry, however I would've liked some more sweet sweet lovin' in ZEKE, because once just wasn't enough! And although I really enjoyed the book as a whole, the ending felt really rushed and didn't do justice to any of the couples. Even so, I'm anxious to sink my teeth into Daring the Kane Brothers, Ms. Gendron's upcoming series focusing on Lurlene's wild and crazy siblings.

Bottom Line: A swoon worthy finale to an EXCELLENT, emotional series. Pick them all up and prep the tissues, wine and batteries for a long weekend in. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

Are you ready to get laid by the best lay in Galveston County?

Before sleeping with Zeke Declan, you have to know and to agree to his rules:
Rule #1 Don’t call him. He’ll call you.
Rule #2 He doesn’t date.
Rule #3 No sleepovers.
Rule #4 Absolutely, no virgins.

But Lurlene is about to break them one rule at a time. Thanks to her friends, she was in for the summer vacation of her life in the Bayou with the challenge to “break” Zeke Declan and his rules. Lurlene or Lulu to her brothers knew she can break them, she knew how men think since she has five brothers of her own. Not to mention, being a high school English teacher had her used to be around rebellious and unpredictable teenagers.

But she underestimated Zeke Declan. He was something else. Yes, he’s hot and have a body to die for – but he was also confident, and smart. A temptation that was just hard to resist. But she knew deep inside he has secrets and nightmares that keeps him awake at night – would Lurlene be the one to break him and know his secrets?
I love the friendship and the easy camaraderie and the ‘platonic’ hang-out moments they had. Somehow, I was glad that they got the time to get to know each other before they jump into the bed. The sexual tension was just oozing – and it was a very, very long foreplay indeed.

It’s fun, steamy and sweet. I like the mystery that surrounds Zeke’s past – but it was just heartbreaking once you discover what it is. I don’t know how a young boy suffered those kinds of stuffs. Nevertheless, there were some twists that surprised me and I never saw coming.

Favorite Quotes:

“Mom says the gym smells yucky, but I like it. Smells like Dad's leather jacket, sweat, and a little like my oldest brother, Jax's room. Mom says that smell is puberty. I'm not sure what puberty is, but ever since Jax got it, he got some muscles and he shot up a few inches too. I want some puberty. Mom says I'll have to wait a few more years before I get it. I hate being the youngest. I'm always the last to get anything.”

“His brows draw together as if I'm a book he's reading and he just ran into a word that he doesn't know the meaning.”

“What am I thinking? I'm not, that's the problem. I'm lost to his masculine scent, his charming smile, and his twinkling eyes. He's girl goo, and once he spreads a bit of his charm on you, it banquets.”

“Don't let the sweet little Miss School Teacher bit fool you. My sis here can change the oil in her car, she's got a wicked curve ball, and when she's pissed off, she swears like a fucking trucker.”

“...when I first saw you, I was afraid to get too close. When I got too close, I was afraid to kiss you. When I kissed you, I was afraid to touch you. When I touched you, I was afraid to let you into my heart. Now that you're in my heart, I'm afraid to lose you.”

My Review:

Kelly Gendron's skill set just gets better and better. I have now read the Declan brothers series and a few of her Troublemakers, and find myself greedily wanting to clear my calendar and read her entire listing. Her writing has never failed to entertain. Her characters are edgy and flawed, yet I still manage to fall for her lovable bad boys every single time! Zeke is one of her best. The character of Zeke is a devilishly handsome player that oozes charisma, and females drop at his feet despite his point-blank one and done rules. Knowing Zeke was a playboy going in, I expected not to like him much, and I also expected a lot of sweaty sheet action – wrong on both counts, but I wasn't the least bit upset to be in error. The story was surprising, emotive, relevant, thoughtful, and well paced. I just wish he had more brothers.

Lurlene is Rayna and Emmies friend from Manhattan. She joins them on their trip to the bayou where the other girls grew up. Like the other books Lurlenes mission is to break Zeke. Of course Zeke is known as the greatest lay in town. You don't get that way without having rules. You know I've always wondered when guys have the rule of no repeats they must live in a heavy female populated area. Otherwise they'd run out of available women. Not all woman are available or the age range they chase or go out for hook ups or bar hop. Some books show them having ONS frequently. We know that when this book starts he had just slept with Missy Miles. Zeke is attracted to Lurlene but he doesn't want to be because he feels that his love will cause harm to her or that he can't be loved due to what happened to his parents. Jenny a bar regular hits on him but he doesn't get hard due to thinking about Lurlene. That was actually different from most books. Usually thinking of the other chick gets them hard then they screw the OW while visualizing the h. While they are both attracted to each other but trying a platonic friendship they begin seeing the sights of the bayou. I'm thinking okay this could be the one I finally like in the series. Nope! He takes home a chick trying to prove things with Lurlene aren't real. No he doesn't get pleasured but he couldn't send home the chick unsatified and gives her a few orgasms. Then while Lurlene is at the bar he kisses another chick. She actually calls him out for trying to push her away but that he'd have to do better than that. No!! He finds out she wants him to break his last rule of not taking a virgin. He freaks out. He flirts with Jenny again and attempts to set something up that ends up falling through due to his fight. You do find out why he was so troubled with his parents death and what really happened. Just not for me. I might try Lurlenes brothers series but if it is similar to these then I'm stopping before I end up being weak and reading the entire series.

This is the third book in the Breaking The Declan Brothers series and we finally get to find out all about the youngest brother, Zeke and how Lurlene finally tames him.

The story is told in a parallel time as the other two books so you do get glimpses of what has already happened to the other brothers. Now we get to understand just what had been snippets of Zeke in those books.

Zeke is the youngest brother and at first I was thinking he was shallow and not somebody I thought I would pine for like I did with Jax and Slate. But this guy has hidden depths and to find out about his past did surprise me and added to the mystery surrounding his parent’s death.

I thought the story flow was at a quick pace and given the subject matter I found it to be a light read so I would have liked a bit more drama and darkness. However this didn’t detract from the romance between Zeke and Lurlene.

Lurlene was a surprise too as she came of as a bit of a geek and a good girl being the school teacher. I thought she was the good two shoes of the three friends but she came out of her shell going after the man whore Declan younger brother. She cleverly wound her way into his life and easily kicked those self-imposed rules Zeke had set.

Overall this was a quick and sexy read that was easy to fall into and fall for these Declan brothers again. Four stars.

Oh wow, Zeke Declan is really one HOT specimen of a guy. He has his rules and he NEVER breaks them, not until Lurlene comes into the picture that is.

Zeke tries and I mean he tries really hard to act like a hard ass with Lurlene, he doesn't take her bait and as much as he wants to bed this beautiful girl, he just won't. But it seems like Lurlene is here to break all of Zeke's rules. The question is, can she break them????

Lurlene is a little spit fire. No matter how hard Zeke tries to make her jealous or hurt her feelings, she just won't show him that he's doing just that. She knows what he's trying to do and she just won't give up on him.

Can Zeke break his rules for Lurlene? He seems to have gotten smitten with her and even though he's trying really hard to not break his rules, it seems like he's breaking them one by one. The question is, can he go through with all of them and just say "screw it" and go in all the way with Lurlene?

This book was a quick read and a great one at that. I haven't read the other Declan brother's books but that's okay, I'll get to them eventually.

The author did a great job with this witty and entertaining book. It will certainly keep you interested, that's for sure!

I had been waiting for this book for a while now. I just had to see the final Declan brother fall. I was so not disappointed either.

Zeke is a fighter like his brothers. They had to be after the death of their parents, a fire that almost killed one of them and their views regarding love. Zeke is reputed to be the best lay in Galveston. Apparently, it's the truth. But wait, he has rules. I'm not gonna repeat them since they're in the synopsis but check them out. He is steadfast in these rules. Ironclad.

Lurlene is spending the summer with her two friends, who have already broken the other two Declan brothers. Her mission is to break Zeke and all of his rules. I loved Lurlene. She was sweet, innocent and effective. She had Zeke breaking every rule he had ever made just by claiming she wasn't really interested in him. I giggled as I watched rule after rule go up in flames and Zeke being fully aware of it but helpless to stop it.

I have enjoyed this series and look forward to the spinoff.

I really enjoyed reading Slate so I was a little dubious about weather Zeke could top his older brothers story but I have to say Zeke stole the show!!

I couldn't wait to delve into Zeke and Lurlene's story after finishing Slate. I knew it was going to be good but I got more than I bargained for. This book really enthralled me and I couldn't set it down, I was reading it everywhere I could get two seconds.

Zeke is the ultimate playboy with his set of rules, he won't break them for anyone. We all knew kind of how this was going to go but Kelly kept the story interesting and I have to say I have a major crush on Zeke Declan!! He ended up being the one with the biggest heart and the biggest secret.

Lurlene was a great heroine, I really liked her character and the way she didn't take Zeke's bs.

Kelly Gendorn has kept me hooked with this series of hot bad boys and I can not wait to get the stories from Lurlene's brothers, I was hoping from we met Token that they would get their own series.

This was my favorite of the series!! It was one of my all time favorite books!!
Zeke is the best lay of Galveston county and if you want to take a ride on the Lightning you have to abide by his rules.
Lurlene is all American good girl, English teacher and...a virgin. These two meet and one of the "rules" Zeke never sleeps with a virgin. But this may be the girl that changes all the rules....
I absolutely love Zeke and wierd enough I love Lurlene. This book takes you on such a journey. And while I read these books in three days I feel so attached to all the characters. I am so sad there is no more UNTIL I see at the end Token has a book next and I CANT WAIT!!

Must read. The first two books were good but a little too much sexy time and not enough story. Well it's because I feel it all leads to this book. I'm so happy I got a chance to read this book. Must read!!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, naughty fun, panty melting alpha, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Jax (Breaking the Declan Brothers #1)
SLATE (Breaking the Declan Brothers #2)

This is Lurlene and Zeke’s story. Zeke has rules he lives by. With these rules no one gets close and no one gets hurt. What happens when he starts breaking all of his rules for a woman who is supposed to be his friend? Lurlene having grown up with brothers she knows she can handle Zeke. Can he handle her? The more time he spends with her the more he wants her but can he have her? Can he overcome his past in order to let her into his life? Will she stick around in the end to be with him or will she get her one night and leave it as that?

I loved these characters and also the brothers. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and this series.
