Really didn't need 20% of the book to take place after the (pretty great) climax, wrapping up loose ends sometimes multiple times over, but otherwise this is super fun. The characters could definitely use some work, the main guy feels quite out of place in this scummy underworld detective story with his level 100 charisma and zero flaws. I thought this was the book that the movie was based on for the first 40 pages before I tried to look it up and discovered it's not even the most popular book named Body of Evidence written by someone named David
