Just one more can't hurt...right?

Re-belle-ious, free-spirited Lauren Renwick has decided it's time to trade her wings for roots. That means no more bad boys, no more foolish choices. Yet when she's stood up on New Year's Eve, her resolution to stick to her mama's rules for dating weakens. Especially when she spots sex-in-leather-and-tattoos Jackson Sullivan.

I love LOVE Kristen Ashley's Sweet Dreams. I've re-read it countless of times before, so it's no surprise that I'm quite familiar with its plot, its characters and of course the style of writing. Rule Breaker, for me, is Sweet Dreams redux. Even their names are eerily similar: the heroine's name is Lauren and the hero's name is Jackson. Sounds familiar?

But before I get ahead of myself, let me just say that when I read the blurb and requested this from NetGalley, I didn't immediately associate i

When I first read the description for the book I wasn't immediately sold on reading it. I don't know why but it just didn't zing me like other book descriptions have. *Dramatic sigh*...I am so glad that I got over myself and gave the book a try. I was NOT at all disappointed. In fact, quite the opposite. I was pleasantly surprised and eagerly wanting more by the time I reached the end of the story. This series will definitely be on my read and recommendation list if all the books retain the feel ...more

2 “Rehashed” Stars!

The Review:
I’m a fan of Harper Kincaid and I enjoy her stories so when I saw this one up for grabs, I was excited to get my hands on it. And in all honesty, the book wasn’t bad. It was a bit short, there was way too much drama at the end and the resolution came too quickly in my opinion, but it was fun, it had decent characters, the

It were longer. Everything happened at light speed and I wish most of their time together hadn't been glossed over in time jumps.

I'm a major KA fan and I will say that I saw quite a bit of similarities in this book that could match quite a few things from different KA books. I'm an avid reader and it's rare I see things that strike me as something close to something that reminds me of KA.

I honestly don’t know any female reader out there that doesn’t appreciate the delectability of a tattooed, motorcycle riding bar-owner with a massive ego and a deliciously filthy talking mouth and I am no exception (don’t tell my mum that). In Rule Breaker that is exactly who Southern debutante Lauren ends up with unexpectedly one New Year’s evening, Jackson ‘I wanna taste you’ Sullivan.

This is a quick, easy read that will leave you fairly breathless and your head spinning. Everything happens ve

Fans of Kristen Ashley will really enjoy the hero Jackson Sullivan - and since I LOVE KA's heroes, I thought he was delicious. I wasn't expecting Rule Breaker to be funny but I laughed lots of times. I loved watching Lauren break all her rules with Jax. Their relationship was sexy, sweet and hot. Rule Breaker is low angst and pretty much drama free. If you are looking for a short, sweet KA style story then I highly recommend.

At twenty-seven years old, Lauren Renwick's mother has decided that she needs to settle down with a nice man and get her life together. Although she typically goes for bad boys, Lauren is making a sincere effort to follow her mother's old-fashioned rules and make it work with an "appropriate" boyfriend. The rules include gems like "keep the mood light" and "limit how often you see him." After a few months, Lauren's pretty bored, but things are going alright. Or so she thinks. Then her perfect gu ...more

I need to start by saying Jackson is HOT!!!!! He is alpha-male, sexy, take charge, and I wanted him to jump out of my kindle!!!! I love a book that I can’t put down, and find myself rushing to get back…..and this was one of them.

Lauren is from a southern family, and has given up her bad boy finding ways, to follow her “Mama’s Rules for dating”. But, when her latest boyfriend leaves her alone on New Year’s Eve, she finds her way to a biker bar. That’s when she sees Jac

Going into this book I thought it sounded good. A few reviews said it was similar to KA and that made me curious. I have a love hate relationship with KA’s books but, ok, I’m game…

Unfortunately, I just didn’t feel the connection between Jackson and Lauren. They meet in a bar, trade a few barbs, she walks away, he follows and they end up in the storage closet…and I was just left feeling meh. I just didn’t feel a connection between them.

Rule Breaker was my introduction to Harper Kincaid and I was impressed. I decided to give it a chance because I can't resist a badass biker with a "beautiful face and a dirty mouth". It was a short, sweet, action-packed read with fun characters and funny family members. The chemistry between Jackson & Lauren was immediate and even though she thought she was riding on the back of his Harley into a one-night-stand, he had other ideas. He was very p

This was a lot familiar..

It was like I was reading some favorite parts out of some of my favorite books.. and I gotta say, with that feat, I didn't expect to be skipping through it as much as I did.

So, I'm guessing it would have been a better read if I hadn't already read all those other books before this one.. unfortunately.. I had, and thus, this wasn't as good for me.

Still, I think I like how the plot went and I'm definitely gonna try more from this lovely author :)

Lauren’s mother had set the rules – but one look, one touch and one taste – all the rules had been broken and readers are in for one-hot-ride of their life.

Or so she has been told. But on New Year’s Eve, when she has been stood up, Jackson had literally swept her off her feet. He was everything her mother didn’t want. He was temptation personified. He was a total alpha, but has his sweet moments. You can’t help but like him. He is determined and very persuasive – how can you ev

Lauren is upset about her New Year’s Eve plans – to say the least. She’s been dating a guy named Keith for about 6 months and right before he was supposed to pick her up for NYE and then a weekend away he calls to say he’s getting back together with his ex. Ok, not a great way to start the new year. She wasn’t too into Keith but it’s still a bummer that she has to spend NYE alone.

Yowser! That was HOT! No, that was HAWT!!! I want my own Jackson Sullivan. I felt sorry for Laruen when she first walked into the bar. Being dumped on New Year’s Eve because the guy you’ve been dating decided to reconcile with his ex-wife sucks big time. My sympathy for her lasted up until the moment Jackson began stalking toward her and then I was as jealous of her as the bar skanks were. One of the things I love about reading is that every now and again, you pick up a book that you might not have read before as the author is unknown to you, but there is something about the book that draws you. You , then open the book up and start reading and you find yourself not being able to put it down. That's when you know that you have stumbled upon an amazing read and a new favourite author. Rule Breaker started off strong but, unfortunately, in the end it was just an okay read for me.

All dressed up with no where to go after getting dumped on New Year's Eve, Lauren finds herself in Jackson's biker bar and ends up getting a lot more than just a drink. As soon as Jackson spots Lauren and her sassy attitude he decides he has to have her and makes no qualms about letting her know it.

After their first smoking hot encounter I expected a lot more when it came to the sexy times. We get a gr

This book wasn’t exactly what I was thinking it would be but in saying that, I really enjoyed it!

The evolving relationship between Lauren and Jackson was beautiful and whilst I found Jackson to be a bit of a control freak I think it all came together in a nice little steamy package.

I think everyone will find a different meaning to this story, but I am a huge fan “of everything happens for a reason” and this book encompassed that from the get go.

I will admit that whilst I am a complete sucker for

I love a story with a sexy as sin biker that's possessive, rough, outspoken but sweet underneath. It's the perfect alpha character. I got all that and more with Jackson Sullivan. Tattooed biker bad boy meets Southern beauty queen.

This was a faced paced, kept me on my toes, but not too much angst book. While I really enjoyed Lauren (h) and Jackson's (H) story it moved quickly, the writing was good the concept was fun but I like a little more build up or connection of the H and h. I did appreciate how the book flowed and how one chapter became another and another until I was done. It was a fun and fast pace

WOW!!! HOT! HOT! HOT! Those are the main words that come to mind. Also…wonderful, great and fantastic. Stephanie Julian has hit another out of the park!!!!

Talia has secrets. Well, really one big secret. She has re-invented herself and when doing that she became this ultra conservative, straight laced, “perfect” business woman. I found this to be a quick, funny and smexy hot read. Lauren has every intention of following the Southern Belle Mafia's rules for landing a man, but that plan is thrown out when she meets Jackson Sullivan on New Year's Eve.

From the very start, the chemistry between Lauren and Jackson is insanely hot, and they click right away with each other, both in and out of the bedroom. Of course there is the requisite drama featuring an ex significant other who tries to break up the new relationship and al

Let me start out by saying this, the book had some hot sex in it. However, I couldn’t feel the connection between Lauren and Jackson. Lauren gets dumped on NYE and goes to a bar where no one will know her. Lauren walked into Jackson bar and he sees her and instantly wants to know her. This was a nice, fun read. What I'd call a quick & light, palette cleanser.
Lauren gets stood up on New Years Eve by who she hopes is "Mr. Right" and ends up having a fling with Mr. Right now...despite her mama's rules. Turns out he may not be too shabby! While he may look a certain way (biker/tats) he's could be what's good for her in the long run, despite her parents preconceived notions. I liked the drama of the ex-girlfriend

This is a fun, sexy and engaging read. It is well written, the characters are delightful and the outcome is everything you could wish in a romantic novel. There were plenty of little touches to distinguish it from the average. Some fairly strong reminders about the error of preconceptions based on looks, upbringing or career choice being a few examples. Loved the nod to MC romances too.

What happens when you cross a southern belle with a bad ass biker bar owner? Lauren Renwick is about to find out. Jackson Sullivan has intrigued her since he sat down beside her and for one night she just wants to forget all her problems.

Jackson and Lauren have immediate chemistry and the list that Lauren has been living by in order to snag the perfect husband is hilarious.

I can't wait to read more from this author.

Holy chemistry Batman! This book is smokin' hot! Seriously. The sparks that fly between Jackson and Lauren are something to behold and it makes for a red-hot read!
The characters were a bit underdeveloped and the plot was a bit predictable but the author's writing style was fun, full of quick wit and banter, and combined with the fact that this wasn't a particularly long book, it made for a really enjoyable story overall.

Rule Breaker is a sweet and sultry kind of story. Lauren's southern roots have built an image for just what is considered the perfect life. From the start her hopes and dreams have never quite fit into the perfect picture, and it becomes even more obvious with the introduction of one commanding tattooed bar owner that sweeps her off her feet. This story is every bit of sweetness with this perfect man persona. I must warn you that it is not for vanilla reader with its steamy bedroom, or actually ...more
