Real life. It isn’t sexy. Isn’t pretty. There are no alpha bad boys. No easy outs. No Hollywood soundtrack. Real life hurts like hell and tastes like the grit between your teeth. And love…love always bears a hefty price. This isn’t a biker romance. This is love and war in the world of the Lean Dogs MC.

Aidan Teague was born into the Lean Dogs Motorcycle Club, a third gener

I am LOVING this series as a whole.

But I find myself a little torn on this one.
I felt like Aiden matured a little bit...but did he really?

His past mistakes are still coming back to bite him in the ass (view spoiler), he still doesn't tell Ghost he fucked up, he doesn't tell Sam (although I get it) about the the baby and, in the end, he stages a rescue for Tango without Mercy and Michael (the two strongest members of the club), which just didn't f

This series just keeps getting better!

Man... I didn't think that any of these Lean Dogs could top Mercy but Aidan was close!

I loved everything about Aidan and Sam. They were perfect together. Sam is strong and loves Aidan from the absolute bottom of her heart. She always has, he just never knew. I was so happy that he finally noticed her.

Our little Aidan is finally growing up. Though I liked the party boy, I think I like the new Aidan better.

With a new threat in town, Aidan has to man u

Great book, great series.

This is Aidan's book he's the prince of the Lean Dogs MC being born into the club but he's struggling to grow up, he's a manwhore who's enjoyed his freedom and his club but after his accident he's been left wanting more. He sees the newly married members and their families and he knows he wants that but what chance does he have especially after the bomb that was dropped a

3.5, "I didn't really care for Aidan" stars ...

"You're thirty-two, damn it, when the hell are you gonna grow up?"

I think that was my problem. He never really grew up or matured throughout this book. I didn't really care for Aidan in the previous books. Thought he was immature and shallow. So I think my judgement might have been coloured prior to starting this one.

Seriously Samantha. I know you have "loved" him forever but ... (view spoiler)

I hate when real life gets in the way of an awesome read! GAH! Finished. Finally! LOVED. Review to follow but to sum it all up for now: MUST READ SERIES for those who appreciate exceptionally well written story-line that continues throughout the series and these characters ... OUT OF THIS WORLD fascinating bunch! Biker lit, people! Seriously! This isn't for everyone but those of you who can appreciate stories that have more to offer than a bunch of biker clichés told via three word sentences wou

Secondhand Smoke kicks ass and takes names in this highly explosive sequel! Lauren Gilley goes above and beyond, driving home the message of why some oaths shouldn’t be taken lightly and what one club will do to go after one of their own! Five motor revving stars, recommended to all MC lover novels, now onto the review!

What makes a man? Is it the position he holds within the club? The number of bodies he’s buried or the men he’s killed? How do you define a him, what separates him from the boys

OK, so I've been on a Lauren Gilley book binge and LOVING it. I finished the four books in the Dartmoor series. How great is it to fall in love with a new author?
This series...

The Secondhand Smoke wrecked me and I cried a river. The feels, people, the feels.
I loved it and enjoyed every single part of its messiness. I have too much to say about this book and it would take me too long to write all my thoughts about all these characters, their actions, etc., so I'm not going to. LOL #sorry

It's safe to say that for me this is the best MC series I've ever read and I feel like I'm part of the Dartmoor family. On to the next.

I've been looking forward to Aidens Teague's story since finishing Fearless and I wasn't disappointed.
Aiden was the the playboy of the Lean Dogs MC or he thought he was, groupies, meaningless hookups, until a near life changing experience meant he needed to reassess his life and come up to the mark where the club is concerned.

The more I read these books, the more I fall in love with the Lean Dogs MC.

These are all book-crack stories, totally addictive.

I just now finished this book and I am breathless. I have loved every one of the Dartmoor books and Secondhand Smoke is no exception. The magic that Lauren Gilley writes just washes over me and I feel as if I'm in a trance while reading. I feel so close to these characters. I love that these books are not only about one couple at a time. They are about a family of Lean Dogs and the women who love them.

Aidan grew by leaps and bounds. He just blossomed and I am so proud of him. Sam is the perfect

I fell instantly in love with Aidan Teague, his lost and scared personality that he hid by being a bit of a slut LOL. I enjoyed all the little drama's in this one and we got to go through the journey with Aidan as he became a man and fell head over heals in love with Samantha who I have to add is AWESOME!! Sam is a total book nerd even teaches Shakespeare while still studying but she is very strong and determined to do what needs to be done.
The only problem I had was that this is the last book

Wanted and expected more from this book. Too much Tango and Shadow in it. I wanted and expected it to be (mostly) Aidan and Samantha's story, based on how previous books were written. But there was very little to what story they did get. I felt like the author didn't know what to do with Aidan and Samantha. I think that's why there was so much Tango and Shadow filler.

I am looking forward to Tango's actual story, and I hope it'll be HIS story and not shared so much with another characte

This series is one of my finds for 2017- (Thanks to the ladies over at the now defunct Amazon 2017 Book of the Month/ Year thread... wiping away a tear, so many great recs over there...) - and now I read each instalment as one section on the long highway that is the Dartmoor MC. Thus the five star rating. Yeah, it's probably idealising a brutal lifestyle but it makes great reading. What gal doesn't love a fictional bad boy who loves his woman!

Ok, I am totally absorbed & invested in this series, the MC club brothers, their wives, their kids, the club drama their relationships, everything!!
Lauren has produced a knock out MC series in Dartmoor, I have loved every book, every story line!
This book is about Aidan and Sam and for one fleeting, ridiculous moment I actually considered skipping this book, because Aidan has not been a favourite of mine in the previous books, thank god I got over that stupid notion. You see an huge transform

At the end of Skeleton King, Aidan’s world was about to come crashing around him and throughout Secondhand Smoke it remained a real possibility. Secondhand Smoke is the fourth and latest book in the Dartmoor Series, this time, it’s Aidan’s story.

Aidan for a 32-year-old still had a lot of growing up to do and there’s nothing like the responsibility of a child to put a damper on a carefree lifestyle. It dawned on Aidan that Tonya was not the woman he thought she was well before he was on the road

The winds of war are blowing through Dartmoor with a vengeance, and the club has more than one possible enemy circling. This book was packed with action, emotion, and uncertainties that had me riveted, but it had parts that I could barely get through. I would find myself so frustrated I would put it down and do laundry or vacuum floors before picking it back up again. It ended up taking me 2 1/2 days to finish which is unusual for me. I have to say my husband greatly appreciated having the laund ...more

Secondhand Smoke is the much anticipated 4th Book of the Dartmoor Series about Aidan Teague. To appreciate this series should be read in order, starting with one of my favorite books of 2015: Fearless, then Price of Angels, Half My Blood, and The Skeleton King.

Aidan Teague is the much alined and misunderstood son of Ghost, who is President of the Lean Dogs MC. Aiden was born into the Lean Dogs Motorcycle Club, a third generation outlaw with big boots to fill. He has had the reputation of a screw

I absolutely adore this series and read all five in a few days, cutting my social life down to go home and read, totally worth it! Although this series has too many complex and interesting characters to count, Aidan was always intriguing. Aidan is Ghost's, (the MC President) son and the stereotypical annoying little brother who you love but constantly wanted to smack senseless, problem is he is in his late 20s and early 30s over the course of the series thus far. Throughout the series he is enti ...more
The literary deliciousness that is Secondhand Smoke is once again solid writing on Gilley's behalf! This is yet another incredible read that has me craving for more Dartmoor!

While I enjoyed watching Aidan Teague's teenage-ish, carefree lifestyle play out in the four prior books of this series, I kept waiting for something monumental to change for him in this book, and he did not disappoint. For about seventy percent of this book, Aiden continued to live his life at his baseline repetitive cycle

And once again I'm in awe. My anticipation of Secondhand Smoke was great because I wanted Aiden Teague's full story since starting the Dartmoor series. As I've learned previously with this author, she wouldn't let me down. Full of Gilley's signature, engaging writing we get the full spin on Aiden, a man child living in the cast of his MC President Father's seemingly impenetrable shadow.

So much in terms of plot happens in this installment for a lot of our beloved Lea

He spent his life starting fires, and she spent hers trying to put them out.

My feelings about this book will forever be this:
I shouldn't like Aidan, I really shouldn't. But I do and I find it impossible not to.
Because beneath the cut and the assholery and downright stupidity, there's pure goodness too and not an ounce of cruelty.
But the real reason why this book isn't just one of my favorites, but one of my all time favorites, isn't

What I love about this series is that it's not just focused on one couple. The Lean Dogs are a family and throughout the series we get to know each member and their old lady and how they came to be. So it's truly a gift to be able to peek in on them and see how their doing. Michael and Holly, King and Emmie, and of course Ava and Mercy. Lord how I love Mercy. I love how the characters always refer to his size, call him a monster, how much of a presence he has. He's just so much fun to read about ...more

The Dartmoor series continues to be a phenomenal read with Secondhand Smoke! I cannot get enough of the Lean Dogs and cannot wait for Tango's story! I love the way Lauren Gilley writes, her stories encompass so much more than just another mc read. Every character is fully developed and real, every word mattered, and every facet of what makes a great story great is found in each of the Dartmoor books. Secondhand Smoke did not disappoint! This series is definitely one of my top favs!
Oh my word....this series....this author. It is love for me. Five stars.

Another great installment. The author had an interesting take about a main character, who was abused as a child and is bi-sexual in a biker club... still get to visit with main characters of previous books and the drama and plot continues to be interesting. Great books.

Lauren Gilley is a masterful storyteller. She weaves such intricate and intense storylines, without making the story a heavy-handed mess. All of her characters are beautifully flawed yet worth redemption, and I'm immediately sucked in the moment I begin reading.
