I own many smoothie books and have downloaded many more recipes from the Internet but this book is my #1 go-to smoothie book. Ms. Koslo has listed numerous different ingredients and combinations depending on the type of smoothie you wish to create. She outlines the basics of creating a good smoothie, lists spices that can be added with their nutritional and health values, and then comes her mix and match charts. Want creamy and sweet? Chunky? Less sugar more spice? You can be the mad scientist, the smoothie barista with Ms. Koslo's book.

And because she is a registered dietitian you get the benefit of her extensive knowledge for all the possible ingredients. I venture to say that this is the only smoothie book you need whether you are just beginning to experiment with smoothie making or are a seasoned pro. The chapters include: Detox and Cleanse, Inflammation Fighters, Weight Loss and Diabetes, Digestion Support, Brain and Energy Boosters, Immune Support, Anti-aging and Beauty, Muscle, Bone and Joint Support (one of my personal favorites), Heart Healthy, and Overall Wellness. She also lists the, "Dirty Dozen" pesticide laden fruit and veggies and the, "Clean Fifteen" safe and cleaner produce with a link to keep current (ebook version). There is also a Glossary of terms used in the book. There is so much information and so many helpful suggestions crammed into this book that I've had it for over a month and I'm still discovering things.

Do I love this book? Yes. If you are looking for the only smoothie book you'll ever need, this is it.

Nice Recipes - If You Are Rich

Seriously, the recipes here look terrific. However, in order for me to get the majority of these ingredients would entail either a trip to Costco (who gets out of there without a) eating their weight in free tastes and/or b) spending a fortune on 64 rolls of toilet paper?) or a 30 mile trip to a Whole Foods? I live in what's called a food desert, only not as bad as it could be - such as across the river from me. When I win the lottery, I will try these (only I don't play). Maybe if some of these ingredients came in smaller packages (protein powder) or larger packages, I would be willing to buy online.

Since I got a new smoothie blender the other day (it’s a knock-off Nutribullet), I’ve been exploring the smoothie books on my Kindle Unlimited subscription for ideas as I play around with it. Of all the books I’ve looked at, I’m most impressed with this book. It isn’t designed specifically with a Nutribullet in mind, but a blender’s a blender for the most part. I find that I usually have to cut this book’s recipes in half to fit comfortably in my blender. The author does a great job of not only providing recipes, but also teaching the reader how to build smoothies on their own to suit their tastes and needs. And the recipes provided are clearly well-crafted. They always look pretty nice (my unaided experiments often taste fine but come out looking like Polyjuice Potion), and even recipes with weird-sounding combinations of ingredients are surprisingly well-balanced and easy to drink. Some of the recipes include some rarer and more expensive ingredients, but the author is also good about mentioning possible substitutes. Each recipe also includes nutrition information and labels like “low sugar” or “high protein” to help the reader find the kind of smoothies they’re looking for. I’ve found the whole book to be super helpful.

Lots of good recipe on this book, it has a lot of recipes that you can substitute one thing for another too, it's very easy to follow and make and can be a good companion if you sometimes don't know which fruits can be put together and such.

This is a great book! I got a free copy in exchange for my fair and honest review on Amazon, which I already submitted. This review is a bonus, because I really, really like this book! The recipes sound crazy (beans in a smoothie???), but they taste amazing! I've tried quite a few, and they were all good. My hubby prefers the fruity ones, but I tend to like those with a little more protein. Since I got this book, I've lost weight, feel better, and have more energy than before. SO WORTH IT! I often donate my books to the library when I'm done, but this one I'm keeping! My only complaints are that they don't discuss the use of an immersion blender, which is all I have and the fact that the book needed one more go-over by an editor. The spine lists it as a "recipie" book, which made me giggle. Still, this one is a keeper!
