Originally published in 1867, this ostensibly autobiographical narrative chronicles the erotic exploits of the young Captain Edward Sellon. And I do mean young: the sex begins soon after his age accumulates its second digit. The narrative follows him into his twenties and beyond, during which he frequently and explicitely slakes a keen thirst for teenage women, and for one mature and exceptionally talented mature woman. In simple, unblushing and quite competent language, sprinkled with delightful euphemisms of a day gone by, we get to know intimately the Captain's tastes, his sustained prowess, and, of course, his naughty bits and those of his female acquaintances, rather well. Light, funny and immensely erotic, Ups & Downs titillates and delights.
