It was only supposed to be one night. One night of hot, no-strings-attached sex.
But what happens when one night turns into two years? Two of the best years of their lives... until it wasn't.
Quinn Taylor doesn't believe in happily-ever-afters. Her heart hardened by the past. Despite Quinn's inability to trust, Alex Conway knows there's something worth fighting for.
Alex makes Quinn question everything she's ever believed to be true about men. She doesn't want to let him in but there's no denying he's under her skin.
Just when Alex thinks he's broken down her walls, Quinn runs, breaking his heart, and he has no idea why.
After two long years without closure, Alex has finally had enough of wondering what went wrong. He's determined to win Quinn back. The only problem... she's engaged to someone else.
Can Alex figure out how to win back the love of his life before she breaks both their hearts irrevocably? Will Quinn realize that everything she's ever believed is all a fallacy?
***While this series can be read without reading The Uninhibited Series, it is a spin-off that contains spoilers for the first series. It is suggested you read Inhibitions, Unrestricted and Freed first.***
3.5 stars. This was a book with characters that irked me and time gaps that infuriated me for various reasons. But it would take me too much time to explain all my reasons, so I won’t. But dammit the storyline hooked me all the way up to the cliffhanger and as much as I don’t wanna do it, I gotta go read book 2 now. Well done Ms Author. You baited and caught me. I also didn’t have to read the previous couple’s story to understand this one, but it sure made those above mentioned time gaps annoying. Oh and a side note for the die hard safety gangers:
i love love the book.Quinn is the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Her view of men, love and marriage has been ruined by seeing her father cheat on her mother with his secretary.and then finding out her high school sweetheart was doing the same as they call it the ways of the rich and its the ways of the world. She chose to have the life of flings and one night stands. Until the day she met Alex. Her insecurities causes her to misunderstand all that he says and she walks away from him despite loving him.She never explains it and her father tries hard to ruin her life. Will he succeed?Or will love triumph again in the end?

Fallacy is a spinoff of Kimberly's first series Uninhibited where we got Tanner and Ashley's story as well as a bit of Quinn and Alex as they are all best friends.
Quinn is a one night kind of girl (shocking not many stories have them) but with Quinn shes strong, sexy and knows what she wants. and commitments and relationships are not one of those things. One encounter with Alex that was suppose to be just that - one encounter- turns into so much more.
Alex gets Quinn and hes good at reading people. When it comes to Quinn he knows exactly what she needs and hes not afraid to show her shes special and cherished. What started out as a one night stand has now continued for 2 years but those 2 years together comes to a very abrupt halt when she starts questioning things. Alex being heartbroken leaves town for a few years...
Now back in town he realizes he is still in love with Quinn and determined to win her back. But what happens when him coming back to claim the only woman he's ever loved doesn't work out the way he had hoped? Does Quinn even want him back?
I kid you not you will not be able to put this book down. As a Kimberly reader for life I will say reading Tanner and Ashley's story before this one will only enhance it but is not necessary. There are a few things that I had to remember what happened in their story but for honestly besides this book leaving you wanting more Quinn and Alex you will want Tanner and Ashley's story too..
Freaking amazing read. Well done Kimberly cannot wait to see where you take Quinn and Alex next especially after that ending.
Fallacy by Kimberly Bracco is a spin-off duet series focusing on Alex and Quinn, Ashley and Tanner’s best friends from the Uninhibited Series. This series will standalone and it will contain spoilers for you if you have not read the Uninhibited series. I read the series on Tanner and Ashley awhile back and absolutely loved it. I would recommend reading that series first because it was not only great but gave you a solid background on both Alex and Quinn but again, you don’t need to read it either to enjoy this story.
Author Kimberly Bracco is a spectacular writer and I have come to love her books immensely! Her storylines are great, they flow seamlessly, flawlessly, and she certainly knows how to hook her reader from the start. This story was no surprise to me, it was filled as usual with a terrific storyline filled with drama, angst, suspense and lots of great hot as Hades sex. This author always keeps me hanging on every word while sitting on the edge of my seat feeling such angst and at the same time has my panties and my kindle ready to go up in flames at any moment. Her stories are a smorgasbord of emotions and I can’t get enough.
So as I said, I first met Alex and Quinn in the Uninhibited series and I loved the both of them. They really stood out as great secondary characters in that series and I remember remarking that I would love to get their story. So I definitely got my wish here.
Alex, oh my, book boyfriend material ALL THE WAY, this man was hot, sexy, beautiful inside and out, he was the best friend any man and/or woman could hope for and he proved that over and over. He had a straight head on his shoulders and I loved that when he wanted something he was going for it with everything he had inside. He did exactly that with Quinn and ended up with the biggest heartbreak of all when they hit a turning point in their relationship.
Now Quinn, hmmm, I loved her, I hated her, I loved her, I hated her, yeah, see you get the gist of her character for me. She was sexy, always knew what she wanted and went for it, she was beautiful on the outside but oh so broken down on the inside. Her upbringing was very difficult and my heart was completely broken for her. She had a poor example of family, of love, of men in general and unfortunately she could not get herself to move out of that mindset. She was truly a great friend, could dish out the best advice and the best intentions and yet when it came to herself she always sold herself short and that made my heart hurt for her and for those around her.
Alex and Quinn were perfect for each other. I loved how the author carefully and beautifully gave their “relationship” a sexy and slow-build up. It was intense, it was hot, it was sexy, it was just downright beautiful and perfectly executed! Alex could see it clearly and I, as the reader, could see it all clearly, unfortunately, it was Quinn who couldn’t see anything clearly and one misunderstanding led to a couple of years of longing, loneliness and heartache for the both of them.
This book obviously leaves us on a cliffhanger and I, for one, cannot get my hands on the second book fast enough. I need to know how things are going to play out between Alex and Quinn. Will she succumb to her father’s threats, will she follow her heart or her head? Unfortunately, I have to wait to find out but I know Author Kimberly Bracco will not disappoint in the sequel, I can just feel it, wink, wink!
Congrats Kimberly Bracco on another outstanding book. I will be waiting anxiously for book #2 and in the meantime will be keeping my fingers and toes all crossed for what I so want to see happen with this amazing couple.
If you have read Inhibitions series by Kimberly Bracco, you know there was something going on with Alex and Quinn although little details of their “relationship” were given. But know Ms. Bracco gives Alex and Quinn their own series in Fallacy (Apprehension #1). Fallacy can be read as a stand-alone but I definitely recommend read the Inhibitions books to meet Alex’s best friend Tanner and his dirty mouth. Alex and Quinn were just supposed to be a one-night only thing-no strings, no dating, no relationship. That’s what Quinn did with all her men. Sleep with the once and then goodbye. But after that one time, Quinn finds herself hanging out with Alex and really becoming friends with him. One time lead to another and coupled with their intense sexual chemistry, Alex and Quinn found themselves in a relationship. Now, Alex could never call it a relationship in front of Quinn, as she would freak-out, but that was essentially was it was. Quinn had spent her whole life building walls around her heart to keep from getting hurt and Alex made it his personal duty to knock down those walls. Two years later, Quinn suddenly announces to Alex that they are through and completely cuts all ties to him. Looking for fresh start, Alex finds himself working and living in Arizona where he moves up the ranks in athletic training. A few years later, the Jets want Alex back. But when Alex arrives home and still in love with Quinn, he finds out she is engaged to someone else. Alex tries to get Quinn to see what they had was real and that he should be the one she is engaged to.
I loved the Inhibitions books and I loved Fallacy. Ms. Bracco’s writing had my falling in love with her characters. I felt that I was living their relationship as it happened while experiencing their love, frustration, hate, and surrendering as it happened. Quinn was a hot-mess and really had a twisted outlook on relationships but she had been betrayed more than once and was just trying to protect her heart. Alex was the boy-next-door we love to love with a little hidden dirty side to him. I just loved the whole book and the direction their story took. Yes, I know what direction it was heading from Ms. Bracco’s previous books but she really built in a wonderful story full of life around that foundation background. READER BE WARNED….that evil writer Ms. Bracco (jk)loves cliff-hangers and Inhibitions ends in a cliff-hanger (so if that isn’t your thing, wait until book 2 comes out but definitely read this duet). As I was getting near the end according to my Kindle, I just keep praying things were going to wrap-up and Quinn and Alex would get their HEA but NO! I am so looking forward to book 2 in the Apprehension duet and thank you Ms. Bracco for giving us readers Alex and Quinn’s story.
Fallacy is a spin off from Kimberly Bracco's Uninhibited series; the series that first introduce us to Alex and Quin. The best friends to Tanner and Ashley. It's here that we first get a glimpse of Quinn and Alex's relationship, but never given any details. So I was thrilled to see that Quinn and Alex got their own book, their story. Quinn is a strong. ambitious, sexy, confident, a no barriers kind of woman. Men fall to her feet and she has a slew of men to choose from. One-night-stands are all she needs to satisfy her sexual desires, never needing or wanting anything more. A encounter with Alex that was suppose to only be one time, leads to more. One night so incredible that both Quinn and Alex are ruined for others. Alex is very good at reading people and sees Quinn for who she really is. He knows she carries a lot of baggage and treads lightly as he wins her over through friendship. Without realizing it, Quinn's one-time rule is forgotten when it comes to Alex. Alex gets her. He makes her feel special, loved and cherished. Everything she doesn't feel from her parents especially her father who she does everything and anything to impress. She has a very hard time trusting, but somehow she has allowed her walls down and has fallen for Alex. She doesn't admit it with words, but Alex knows through her actions. What started as one-night leads to two years. Two years of wonderful, until something causes Quinn to question Alex's true self. Ending things with Alex causes a spiral of changes. A heart broken Alex moves to Arizona to pursue greater opportunities for his carrier. Quinn jumps back, head first into work, working in gaining her fathers approval so one day she can fill his shoes. What Quinn doesn't expect is her father changing the rules. After two years, Alex finds himself back, as head-trainer for the Jets. Still in love with Quinn he is determined to win her back, until he finds that Quinn has moved on and engaged to another man. Hurt, Alex needs and wants answers. Why did she end things between them when everything was going so well? What did Quinn's fiancé have and do to convince her to finally commit to forever? I became a fan of Kimberly Bracco's through the Uninhibited series and an even bigger one now. Her writing keeps getting better and better. Ms. Bracco has this amazing ability to make you feel as if your experiencing what the characters are. Her sex scenes are hot with just right amount of sweetness and spice. I loved Quinn and Alex's story. I love that Alex was able to break down Quinn's walls with his simple gestures. I am so eager to see what choices Quinn is going to make in book 2, Irrefutable.
Fallacy is a spin off from Kimberly Bracco's Uninhibited series, Alex and Quinn's story. Best friends of Ashley and Tanner.
Quinn is a hit it and quit it gal, she dont do relationships, hell she doesnt do seconds. One day or night and on to the next. Alex is a good guy, he gets his one night but works to get another and when she gives in he works to bring her walls down and she works to have Alex with her walls up.
That is until a misunderstanding of something Alex says to someone leads to a spiraling of the relationship and friendship. It leads to him fleeing to Arizona and her falling inline under her fathers thumb. The reason in contrast to why we loved her in Ashley/Tanner story.
This story spans many years and for me that made parts seem more of a telling then a showing. I like a book that spans many years to be present with flash backs. That is a personal choice.
Kim Bracco has now written 3 great reads and I am eager to follow her career and read her works.
I didn't enjoy this book at all. I didn't feel the connection between Alex and Quinn - it might be because I didn't read the uninhibited series which I'm so fucking glad I didn't because I hate Ashley. I had no emotional investment in these characters, their stories, and their personalities or lackof for that matter. They were just there to fill in the empty gaps in my opinion. I fucking hated tiffany - she was irrelevant. I wasted my time reading this, thinking okay it will get better because yeah at times it was fine, i liked it but then the next scene caused me to become angry. Pettiness describes Fallacy. I liked Jordan though, at least there's one good thing about the book.
Ok I'm going to start off by saying, I should have seen that ending coming a mile away with how she wrote Ashley and Tanner's story. But I still read it and loved it. I love how she starts the story off with how Alex and Quinn met, and went from there. I was totally peeved when I got to the middle. OMG if I could jump in a book and slap a main character Quinn would be it. I think I had the same feelings about Ashley. There is something seriously wrong with them, if their men were real, I would have swooped them up in a heart beat, because seriously, who wouldn't want a man like Alex. Loving, caring, and who sees the real you. Sweet baby Jesus. Now I have to wait until April 29th to see if Quinn pulled her head out of her butt!
I did not read the first two books and started with this one. It has a great story line but it is a huge cliffy. Loved Alex, patient, faithful, kind, loving.......... Then there is Quinn, geez, someone needs to smack some sense into her. I understand her background and that is why she is having a tough time trusting, but to get trust, you must trust and she must give the trust. She needs to share her secrets about her fathers behavior to her. The story will make you keep turning the page and then that is it........what ?!?!?! that is why 3.5 stars.
Got to wait until April 29th for conclusion....ooh my
This story I LOVED everything about this. If you read the Uninhibited series you've met Alex and Quinn . If not that's ok you can read this and not be lost . Quinn has been living her life with a goal .. To be the best. Alex is he perfection he's sweet and the two of them together are AMAZING . The chemistry is fantastic. Go one click now!
very disappointed...this book wasn't good as the first 2 books in the series... I didn't like the idea of the story at all...the main character was not strong enough to make me fall in love with them or their story...sorry.
1st off let me say the story way too long... Way too many chapters. Loved the dynamics of these two characters which makes you not want to put the book down. Quinn Taylor a diligent corporate climber in the financial world trying to prove that she can do more for the company than her father can. Her father an egotistical, greedy, narcissistic control freak. Who has belittled, embarrassed, taken credit for her work, when pulling other prospects for the company? He has now threated her position within the company her entire life. She has tried to be a rebel in some ways, what college she went to, what she first majored in, etc. Her parents have destroyed her believe in what marriage should be & what is a true relationship. Quinn only believes in 1 nightstand, no strings, no emotional bond, just pent-up stress to release with sex. If she isn't in a relationship, then she won't get emotionally attached. If she doesn't get emotional attached, she cannot get cheated on or hurt. Then she meets Alex Conway is a successful sports trainer who works for major sports teams for the NFL. He is gorgeous, confident, has a best friend & is no short of the ladies wanting to get into his pants. He is more than willing to oblige. Alex is a bit better with his sexcapades, he will see a woman more than once. Especially if she is a good lay. But he isn't ready to be in a relationship. Until he meets Quinn Taylor who rock his 🌎. He wants more w/ Quinn, the beautiful, blonde, long legs, sexy vixen that Alex cannot get enough of. He knows that Quinn doesn't do relationships let alone more than a couple of nights of hot, controlled sex. To get Quinn on more than one night, Alex plays the casual card. Hey, want to go to a Halloween party, are you free, to have dinner & chat. Well one-night leads to more outings, dinners, sex. TO Alex is able to tear some of Quinn's walls down, without her really realizing she is changing. While Alex is there for Quinn on any problem, dilemma or disagreement she is going thru, whether it be her father's demands, her best friend’s boyfriend issues to her just being exhausted trying to prove herself in the company. She can always count on being able to talk to Alex to get sound advice. And maybe lay in between the sheets. Alex doesn't know when he has fallen in love with Quinn, but he isn't going to mention it to her. For months Alex has been slowly able to strip off some of Quinn’s insecurities, walls she has built. He will be patient & just supportive to her. Then their best friends are going thru chaos, drama to tragedy. Both of them have to be there for their BFF's. Quinn more so than Alex, since Ashley has been in a major car accident, & has month of recovery & deal with the emotional darkness of the loss of her unborn son. Who she blames on her Ex. boyfriend? Tanner. Alex's best friend. Quinn gives up her time, clients, to tolerate the anger, bitterness & demands that Ashley has given to her for 6 months. When her father demands that she has to come back to work because she has neglected her clients. (Which she has not). He has no compassion of what Ashley is going thru. She is not family, the threatens that she is not ready to take over the company. The man is ruthless & cruel. Well, her relationship with Ashley has gone from bad to worse in the deep dark holes of depression. Ashley has even made a public statement that Tanner is the one for the accident that caused the death of her son. Which isn't true but Tanner doesn’t want to make a public statement, so he is looked at a football player who is only out to seek fame & fortune. Quinn is burned out & she doesn't know how much more she can take of Ashley rath & then her father's. When Alex tells her she cannot do everything for Ashley, she needs to get out of this hole on her own. Which is why Tanner has stayed away. But when Ashley doesn't follow her PT & she damages one of her legs. Alex has decided he will take over with Ashley's care. Which actually was the best idea from all four of the friends. Ashley needed someone neutral to push her. Quinn could get a break & focus on clients.
This ordeal showed both Alex how compassion & loving Quinn was to her best friend of 10 yrs. It showed Quinn that there are good men out there that are supportive, understanding & willing to be there when a crisis comes up.
These issues brought them closure together. A year becomes two years. Then things change when Quinn tells Alex about her father's board meeting & taking credit for the work she did. Then she has to show up to the Christmas party that even to hear the same thing. Alex offers to go with her & Quinn cannot understand why. She thinks that she is protecting Alex from her father's rath. Alex doesn't care, he just wants to support her. But she will have nothing to do with that idea. They have a huge fight, & Alex tells her that he loves her & he would have come to support Quinn, He didn't care what his father thought or said about him. Quinn doesn't understand, she thinks he isn’t supportive & if he loved her, he wouldn’t have pushed the issue. The fact is that Ashley actually tells her that Alex just wanted to support his girl. Quinn actually bites her togue & apologizes & invites him to the party. Sure enough, her dad gives both of them rath. When he finds out how long they have been in a relationship. He has decided that Quinn isn't deserving of the VP position he was going to announce because she has become distracted with having a man in her life. All because she took a lunch break instead of sitting in her office working 24/7 like she has done forever.
Quinn starts having doubts of her relationship with Alex. He has caused her to lose focus on the big prize. Her getting the, that cannot happen again. She goes back to being in robot mode when it comes to her life.
The night of Ashley & Tanner's wedding rehearsal the four friends start to discuss about infidelity & Alex mentioned that a certain couple's circumstances & believed that it was the woman's fault for the man cheating on her. Any doubts that Quinn had that Alex was different than other men. Went out the door of their 2-year relationship with Alex. She misconstrued Alex's comments on infidelity as who's to blame. Quinn decides to leave the only healthy male relationship she has had. No reason, no explanations, no call backs.
Alex thought that they had gotten past Quinn's emotional insecurities. They were communicating, breaking down barriers with each conversation they had together. Did Alex take too much of a risk by admitting he loves her? She breaks Alex's heart & he has done nothing but been supportive, kind, loving. understanding. He was considering asking her to marry.
Alex has received a job opportunity in AZ. Since it was over 3 months & no response from Quinn, he decided to take the job. This leads both characters to go back to their old habits. One night stands to relieve their stress & pain. Quinn denies she is thinking about Alex. While Alex sleep with Quinn imitations. His friends tell him to start dating, brunettes, the opposite type of women from Quinn. Alex has a good heart & when one of the nurses is going thru a horrible break up from her girlfriend. Alex is who he is & tries to be supportive to Tiffany's heartbreak. But she knows that he wants to get her in the sack. They relieve some tension together but realize that they are just good as supportive friends. Two years pass & Alex has gotten another opportunity in his career to move back to New Jersey. He still hasn't gotten over Quinn, but he would be closer to family & his friends Ashley & Tanner & their new baby that he & Quinn are the godparents.
Quinn stressed with the demands that her father gives her to still prove to be an equal in her father's company. He dumps all the work on her & takes all the credit for her accomplishments she has made, with new clients & revenue to the business. Is she really happy with the choices she has made for her life? Nothing has changed in the two years after letting go of Alex. Except Quinn being jealous of Ashley's family. Something she never believed she wanted. But she is working her ass off to get the VP position that her father took away from her two years ago...
Quinn's insecurities come from witnessing her father cheating on her mother with his secretary when she was in high school. When she tries to tell her mother of his actions. Her Mother scolds her in not understanding the world. Her mom believed marriage is something more than infidelity and cheating on your spouse That traumatic event changed the course of Quinn's life. It's what made her decides to fight for her to be better than her father in business & her reputation, & search for clients
Quinn has now gotten an ultimatum by her despicable father. He wants to get his competitors business. Now that he has found out he is dying of cancer. He has told her to marry their son so they can merge the companies together. Quinn cannot believe what her father is asking her to do! Sell herself for a merge. She says no but he pushes Jordan on her whenever possible. Now he has demanded Quinn married to Jordan or he will destroy her life. Send her to the committee board saying she has been corrupt & embezzling within the company. He can do it by changing numbers within the company reports. Then he will black ball her in the financial world where she cannot get a job with another firm. She will go from designer clothes to an orange jumpsuit. Her own father!! What a despicable man!! His wife chose to stay with him.
Quinn decides to obey her father's order & start being scene with Jordan. Fortunately, she likes him as a friend & she tells him the truth as to what her father has threatened her with. Jordan is furious but he is willing to marry her with compromises, which will allow them to both succeed in getting her father striped from the company. But Jordan is not doing this for the company but for his family. He wants Quinn as his family. His true wife? What will that lead for their future? Jordan doesn't care because he will do anything for Quinn, he happens to be in love with her. To have her as his wife would be wonderful for them as a couple, they would have the company. And he would treat her like a queen for the rest of her life. Quinn respects Jordan as a friend but she needs to make compromises if she wants this arrangement to work. They don't bring people’s home to satisfy their needs. They work at the company together. If they fall in love with someone, they are willing to Divorce amicably. She needs to go to fundraisers, family events. Which is difficult for her. He is getting married to give his father closure that his son will be happy once he is gone. She is doing it for career goals & take the company to the next level without her horrible father at the helm. Can she go thru the wedding? When her friends think she is making a huge mistake. Ashley decides to have it all out with Quinn. She has seen how she is not the Quinn who she went to college with. Quinn has changed, emotionally, physically. She is hiding things from her best friend. She doesn’t tell her story Then she sees Alex with his so-called girlfriend Tiffany & gets distracted. It also doesn't help that Ashley is not willing to meet Jordan to see that he is a good guy. Though she refuses to tell anybody the truth as to why she has to go thru this wedding. Ashley plays the game that Tiffany is doing to help Alex get the love of his life. Make her jealous & realize that she lost the best thing that has ever happened to her. Alex is still heartbroken over Quinn especially when he sees her engagement ring. Alex is determined to get answers after Ashley has given him a bombshell about Quinn’s upcoming marriage. He knows that they’re not in love, have not slept together but are friends. She is helping a friend because of Jordan’s father illness. Quinn’s marriage is an arrangement, there is no love involved. He decides to get answers to why she broke his heart? She never gives him a straight answer the first time he stocks her apartment. Then he goes back again just two weeks before the wedding. She finally tells him the history of her trauma. But he is furious that she could consider him the same as her parents. That she presumed something that he never did or would do to her. He never cheated on her. He loved her & still does. But she does break down & says she is doing the right thing & everyone should trust her. Day of the wedding Quinn breaks down, has a panic attack & has not slept all night. Ashley is worried because she was to pick her up over an hour ago. What does Ashley do but call Alex to go over to Quinn condo to find out what is wrong. Does she not know seeing Quinn today is breaking his heart? But Ashley still feels that he can break her from going thru this marriage. If they are all new the truth about the extortion & ultimatum from the dictator. They might find an answer to her dilemma. Now I was very drawn into these two. I really wanted them to be able to work this out. Alex was the best boyfriend. What a number her parents did on her! I understand that from my own parents. However, when it comes to the threats that Quinn’s father plays on her. I don’t understand how she doesn’t have friends, colleagues, or representatives from these same organizations that would be supporting her ethics. Quinn has been working being groomed by her father for years. She doesn’t have anyone that would vouch for her credibility. I don’t believe that part of the story. I also appreciate how they showed their relationship of all four friends together. How they supported one another. As I said, in the beginning it’s way to long. And there are two more chapters to this saga. To Long…..

Heart-pounding, steamy, angst, edge-of-your seat!…this is how I felt while reading Fallacy. This book had me so wound up flipping page after page wanting to see what happens next! Bracco delivered an phenomenal book that left me begging for more!
Quinn knows what she wants. She's a beautiful, strong, independent woman who's dead set on making CEO of her company and pushing her father out the door. She doesn't have time for relationships. She prowls for men at night to satisfy her sexual cravings. One Hello. One Night. One Romp. One Goodbye. That's all these poor men ever get from the career focused Quinn.
Alex is your typical man whore. He's sexy beyond belief. He's smart and he's successful in his career. He's not looking for a relationship. He fills his bed with meaningless sex and women who's names they're lucky if he remembers!
When Quinn and Alex's worlds collide, they were both looking for the same thing. What they always look for. A one time romp in the sack with a hot sexy body. What neither realized at the time, was that one time together, would ruin each other for anybody else.
Alex is determined to win Quinn over. He wants her and no one else.
Quinn has a past. A past that has made her afraid. Afraid of relationships….afraid of commitment….afraid of trusting men.
Alex is kind and caring. He's patient with Quinn because he knows something is holding her back. He doesn't know what it is. Quinn gradually starts trusting Alex more and more. He can read her emotions like an open book. He always knows just what to say or what to do to keep her calm. Everything between them is going great…..until her greatest fear and her father rears their ugly heads and she breaks things off with him.
Alex tries talking to her. Tries to figure out what made her scared enough to run from him. She avoids him at all costs though. Seeing no other choice, Alex takes a job he was offered in Arizona.
Determined to keep on the track she's been on for her career, Quinn goes back to her previous ways of "hit it and quit it". No emotions. No second hook-ups. No man will get in her way of taking of her fathers company. She was finally on the right track.
Or so she thought.
2 years pass and Alex is returning to his home state. To his friends……to Quinn. Maybe? Hopefully? When he returns, he finds something he never imagined. Quinn is engaged to someone else. She's changed. She's not the same girl he left. He doesn't recognize her and neither do their friends. She's become the one thing she's always hated. A cliché.
Will Alex find a way to change her mind? Will he be able to win her back?
Or will Quinn marry someone else and not give him a second thought?
Holy Wow! This book ended with a cliffhanger that had me spinning! Fallacy was hypnotic! It captivated me from page one until the very end! I'm now ecstatic that I don't have to wait for Irrefutable to be released! I don't think I could handle the turmoil going through Quinn and Alex that I was left with!
I thought I loved Kimberly's books before, but after reading Fallacy I am straight up hooked on Bracco! I'll openly admit I was a little homicidal when I finished reading it and immediately messaged the author, but thankfully she took it all in stride.
I adored Quinn Taylor, she's hard-as-nails in all aspects of her life, and doesn't take shit from anyone, except her asshole father. The reason she's this way is because she's deeply affected by something that happened in her past, and because of that she doesn't believe in relationships or commitments. She likes dick and isn't ashamed to lure men in, get off, then walk out the door without a backward glance. That is until she meets Alex.
Alex Conway. God, where do I even begin with this amazing guy! He's kind of like Quinn. He has his fair share of hot hook-ups and isn't looking for anything serious. One night with Quinn changes everything. He can't get her off his dick...I mean mind. LOL! He's a little sweeter than what Tanner was, but he knows how to get down and dirty with the best of them. I think his sweet nature is what appealed to me the most though. He pursues Quinn, and they fall into their relationship rather easily. He falls madly in love with her. Her with him. And they live happily-ever-after...WAIT A DAMN MINUTE, THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENS!
Sorry Kimberly, I guess I'm still a little hostile. EVERYTHING TURNS TO SHIT IS MORE LIKE IT!!!!
They part ways for two years, after Quinn calls it quits and cuts Alex out of her life. Quinn moves up in her father's company. Alex moves away for his career. But then he moves back. Only to discover the girl he still loves (but is pissed with for tearing out his heart and stomping on it) is engaged. Even though he's angry with her and wants to know why she did that to him, he still devises a plan to win her back. Of course we don't find out in this book because we're left hanging, when Alex goes to Quinn's apartment the day of her wedding, in hopes of talking her out of it...and it just ends. Nothing resolved. Gah!!!!
So obviously, I have a love/hate relationship with this book. I absolutely adored the story, and most importantly the characters (well minus Quinn's dad), but I absolutely despise cliffhangers. I hate them soooooo darn much! In saying that, this was still a sexy, emotional read and I look forward to reading the conclusion to Quinn and Alex's story.
OMG OMG OMG Kimberly Bracco has already made my list of authors trying to KILL me, but after Fallacy, she's forevermore dubbed #EVILWHORE! I never believed in my wildest dreams that she could get worse after the Uninhibited series but she rose to new levels of evil! I'm certainly Apprehensive that I will ever be able to love her again, until I GET THE NEXT BOOK!
Quinn Taylor hits it and quits it without ever going back for seconds. But the night she hooks up with Alex Conway, is the day her world is changed forever. She doesn't believe in happily ever after, but somehow Alex systematically tears down all her walls, and one night turns into 2 years. Alex believes that Quinn is worth fighting for, and he knows she's it for him. When Quinn freaks out, and runs, it breaks his heart. After chasing her with no results, he takes a job in Arizona trying to get over her. Another 2 years goes by, and Alex has had no luck getting over her, so he moves home to fix it. The problem is, Quinn is no longer the same girl, plus she's engaged. Will Alex be able to fix things before it's too late for them?
For some reason, this author brings out my dramatically insane self, but my heart has been ripped out, stomped on, and set in fire with no surgical repair in sight. The character development is spot on perfect, as watching Quinn and Alex evolve is something spectacular. A fast paced, emotionally charged, super sexy, and very well written storyline flows effortlessly. The flammable chemistry felt in the Inhibited series between Alex and Quinn has become EXPLOSIVELY HOT HOT HOT sexy scene goodness that will disintegrate panties everywhere in Fallacy. Kimberly Bracco's brilliant, but diabolically evil writing style has reached new heights that makes my love/hate relationship with her so much more pronounced. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this story, but not only did I get to relive Tanner and Ashley 's heart wrenching moments (that made me tear up yet again), but the cliff hanger ending nearly brought me to my knees. The author may or may not get messages calling her very bad names until I get the next book, but I can't deny that her writing is kindle crack that hurts so good. Five stars doesn't come close to doing Fallacy justice, but bottom line is that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
★✩★ARC REVIEW★✩★ "The world is still moving even if yours stopped…" I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished The Inhibition Series by this awesome author. Kimberly knows how to rip your heart out and at the same time let your ovaries explode like you're having a terrorist attack inside your body – this is how she got me hooked again! Quinn and Alex left their mark as the most wanted-to-meet secondary characters I have ever met. They both were so cool and so loveable and I couldn't wait to read their story. Quinn has always been the one who never holds back. What you see is what you get. She doesn't hold back, always straight forward and when she wants something, she will get it. Growing up with trust issues and an asshole man for a father, she lost all faith in falling in love and building a serious relationship with anyone. The only thing she cares about is making her way up to the top in her father's company and getting off with the next hottie she finds for the night – this is until the day she meets Alex. Super hot, caring, greatest fuck ever – Alex. What was supposed to be a one-night stand, becomes a second, third and so many more night stands. They become inseparable as good friends and lovers. Alex starts to fall in love with her while Quinn, in her own twisted, not admitted it kind of way, start to feel the same. They spend two amazing years together. They go through so much with Ashley and Tanner's tragedy and support each other through that awful time. Alex finally breaks though her brick walls and makes her feel but when things start to get too serious for Quinn to handle, those brick walls rise back up and make her run. Her trust issues get a hold of her and she starts imagining things about Alex’s loyalty to her. Her asshole father says things that make her doubt herself and her career and the fact that her best friends are getting marry add stress to her already stressful mind. Two broken hearts, one monster of a father and a setup engagement, makes this book as awesome as it is! Oh yeah, and mind blowing sex of course… I have to warn you though – major cliffhanger is on the line here! Kimberly, as I already told you – I love you but I hate you! Like always - You did good, too good and I can't wait for book #2!
** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **
She’s young. She’s beautiful. She’s highly independent and extremely driven. She’s single. She loves her life. Relationships are so not her thing. Attachment a no go zone. She’s a one night girl. No strings attached. No feelings involved. She takes what she wants then moves on. One night is all anyone will ever have with her. It has to be that way. She will never let any one close to her. She will always make sure her heart is protected.
Her name…….Quinn.
He’s young. He’s sinfully gorgeous. He’s independent and extremely driven. He’s single. He loves his life. One nighters are all he has been interested in. No stings attached. No feelings involved. But he wants more. Surely there is more to life than a string of one night stands?
His name……Alex.
Quinn and Alex. So very different. So very unique in their ways. One night will forever change them. One night together will change their lives. One night together will change absolutely everything.
Welcome to their world. A world full of trust and hope. A world full of secrets. A world full of deep scars. A world full of heartache and pain. A world of bad choices. A world of broken hearts. A world of love.
You name it, Fallacy has got it. We absolutely loved it. From beginning to end we couldn’t put it down. We were completely transfixed. We laughed, we cried, we held our breath. We could feel the emotion pouring out of the pages. It’s raw, confronting, highly emotional and downright sinfully delicious……Like drooling, omfg sinfully delicious. We fell in love with Quinn and her no nonsense, say how it is attitude. We fell in love with Alex and his strength and determination and never give up attitude. We fell in love with both Quinn and Alex and their story. But guys please be prepared……The ending is a cliffy of all cliffy’s. It was so bad we wanted to throw our kindle out the window…….WE JUST WANTED MORE!!
We highly recommend Fallacy to be on everyone’s TBR list. You will definitely not be disappointed.
What I Loved: I was so freaking excited to finally get my hands on Alex and Quinn’s story!! I totally fell in love with Ashley and Tanner from the UnInhibited Series and it was obvious things went down between Alex and Quinn so I couldn’t wait to find out what it was.
The chemistry between Alex and Quinn was instantaneous and I loved watching them build a relationship little by little. It was so wonderful to see Quinn learn to depend on someone other than herself while at the same time still be able to kick ass when needed. I’m such a huge a fan of strong female characters that bring as much to a relationship as they get and Quinn is the perfect example of that. She can be stubborn and loud mouthed but has a strong head on her shoulders and goes after what she wants.
I really loved that the book switched point of views as well so we not only got Quinn’s point of view but got Alex’s as well. I loved to learn more about Alex and what exactly makes this sexy man tick! The more I read about this dude the more I fell in love with him and as the story went on my heart just broke for him in so many ways. He’s such a great guy and he proves that over and over again. Alex is truly the whole package!
Not So Much: I get that this is spinoff of the UnInhibited Series and I’ve read that series and loved it. But I can’t remember every single thing that happened in it so it would’ve been more helpful to have a little bit more detail from that book when it came to supporting this plot. There was a point in this story where it mentions Tanner and Ashley were fighting and I couldn’t remember at all what they were fighting about. I know you don’t have to have read the other series to read this one, and I agree with that but I do feel that if you haven’t you might feel like you’re missing out on something because without that information there would be a lot more plot holes in this book.
Up until a few days ago, Kimberly Bracco was a very new to me author. I started out with Fallacy. At first glance Quinn, the lead female character, is the kind of character that you expect from you lead male. She has a very cocky attitude and she is very straight forward when it comes to picking up men. They only serve one purpose for her and no one gets a second glance. Then she meets Alex. Without even realizing it, little by little, Alex begins to wear her down and take some control. Quinn’s father is a terrible man. In this book you don’t get the clearest picture of why Quinn’s relationship is the way it is with her father, however, she clearly shuts everything and everyone else out to put her work first. She feels like she must prove to herself to her father. There are several interesting side characters that add a good amount of extras to the book. Tanner and Ashley are Quinn and Alex’s best friends and not only are great supporting characters in the story, but have their own bit of side story and turmoil to add to the mix. There is a bit of a time jump in the book where Alex and Quinn are separated because out of the blue, Quinn just ends it with Alex. The readers can tell that it’s mostly her being insecure, but Alex is left clueless and broken hearted. Some new characters come into play when Tiffany and Jordan are added to the story, making it a bit suspenseful. When at last Alex and Quinn are reunited and some interesting bits start to unfold, the book ends in a cliffhanger. Good news is if you are just now discovering Kimberly’s books as I just did the second book Irrefutable is now available so you do not have to wait to get the rest of Quinn and Alex’s story. The writing is excellent. The characters are fun, interesting and well developed. I am giving this book a four star rating. The slower pace of the book from about fifty percent to the cliffhanger was a little too much for me. I think somewhere during Alex and Quinn’ separation if the author would have had them interact in some way with each other rather than the side characters that would have made it so much better for me personally.
I love this book! You can really feel for both Quinn & Alex so it's impossible to take 'sides.' I'm on the side of them being together!
Quinn & Alex and were hot and electric...and then they weren't. No one but Quinn knows why. Quinn was never a relationship kind of girl. She's a hit it & quit it and no repeats kind of girl. Her hook up with Alex after a club one night was supposed to mutually be just that. When their best friends (Tanner and Ashley from the Uninhibited series) became a couple it was inevitable that they would be running into each other often. On a slow night they did each other a 'favor' by hooking up one more time. That night turned into a 2 year loosely described relationship - putting a label on it might ruin it.
Completely out of the blue Quinn breaks it off with Alex with no explanation and won't even communicate with him. When he is offered a great job opportunity across the country he takes it figuring he and Quinn with never be again and he might as well try for a fresh start. Quinn throws herself back into her job at her father's company 200% and begins to lose a little bit of herself in the process. Her father, who is only interested in money and power, basically blackmails Quinn into a side deal to help secure a merger with another large company so that he can truly be the richest and the most powerful no matter who he destroys in the process.
Alex's job brings him back home after 2 years and he has a glimmer of hope that he may be able to work things out with Quinn but the Quinn he once knew - and loved - is not really the same. It's hard to tell if she ever will be.
This is a spin off of the Unihibited series but it is its own stand alone series. That being said, I highly highly recommend reading it not just because it's an awesome story but to fully understand how Quinn & Alex's bond is formed and strengthened. Their story overlaps with the Uninhibited series just enough though. Love it!!! It's heartbreaking and breathtaking, sexy and steamy, and together these two are ahhhmazing.
A couple of notes before i gush on the story. First, I read the disclaimer wrong. I read stand-alone book, not stand alone series so um i was a bit ticked at the end. Seriously pissed off, till i reread and went oh, damn. Mega Cliffhanger on this one. I mean cuss Kimberly out and throw a fit type cliffhanger. Second, You really need to read Tanner and Ashley's story to understand a good bit of this one. A lot of spots are assumed you know what's going on. Now I don't want to spoil either story so i'm not going to get specific, but I found myself in multiply spots (mostly first half of the book) feeling like something was being left out, the story was disconnected and didn't read smoothly. I understand the need to not repeat everything that happened, but would have been better if left out or more explained then actually was. I have read all 3 books and still had to jog my memory on the Ashley/Tanner drama to keep up. So now that you read that you're asking me Um why are you giving this 4 stars instead of 2? Simple I could not put the book down. Hook line and sinker it had me. Alex picked up a lot of depth in this story we see his relationship and post relationship with Quinn. I really like Alex. He takes care of what's his. He knows what Quinn needs and does what he can to give it to her, at the expense of his own feelings. He's an outstanding Hero. Quinn is 1000 kinds of flocked up, she has deep issues that cause her to push everyone away. Seeing some of those walls come down as she progresses makes her human and very likable. I'll me honest, I wasn't crazy about her in the other series, but she just needed some depth. I'm hoping to see a greater development in the second book, this one focused more on Alex than Quinn. Overall i'm very happy i read the book, but think i would be lost if i had not read the previous series. Arc Received in exchange of an honest review.

Holy Cow! This was a crazy story and it isn’t over with yet. (hint, hint, CLIFFY)
First let me start by saying that this is a spin off from another series by this author. I did not read that other series and was able to follow along well with the characters. I hate it when an author does a spin off and you can’t keep up unless you read the first series… so I was pleasantly pleased that I was able to keep up.
This story is about Quinn. In the beginning she is a little female “man-whore”. She is a “one and done” kind of girl. She doesn’t do repeats with anyone, ever.
She meets up with a guy named Alex, who is friends with her best friend’s boyfriend. They go home together and hook-up…and have some AMAZINGLY HOT SEX! She tries to “one and done” him, but everyone after him just doesn’t do it for her.
Alex works his way back for a repeat with Quinn, and they become friends with benefits. Alex knows that Quinn is against commitment, but is able to work his way into her life, and become “boyfriend and girlfriend”.
Quinn has HUGE issues with her father, and in the story you find out why Quinn is the way she is.
Things happen to relationship in Quinn’s life. Her best friend Ashley, Alex, her father and you go through a rollercoaster ride that makes you want to scream at the end.
This story kept me on the edge until the end… and then I wanted to jump of the edge the way it ended. I can’t wait for the next one.

This is my first time reading anything by Kimberly Bracco and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. Ms Kimberly Bracco has given us an incredibly story with a story line that flows smoothly and flawlessly ,it's filled with drama ,angst, suspense, and with some great sex. And the emotions are off the wall , the characters are strong and loving toward each other and they make the story. This is Alex 's and Quinn's touching story, These two meet when their best friends started to date .At first Alex and Quinn started have casual sex with no strings attached ,until their feels started to change towards each other. But when soon something happened Alex's world is blindsided by Quinn rejecting him and ending up engaged to someone else. Poor Quinn start to imagine things about Alex 's loyalty to her, with a little help from her father, who just happens to be a king size asshole in my books. Her father make her doubt herself and her career ,and he started to put more stress on her life. Quinn is a smart woman who is driven ,beautiful, sassy, but she's also be shattered so much by her father .It was so hard to believe that a father would treat his daughter this way . Quinn use to idolize her father and with a snap of his fingers he destroyed it all for her.I could go on and tell you how this all worked out but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this sweet story, because you won't be disappointed.
I just finished Fallacy and I have to do something before I continue my Review.
ARGHHHHHH!!! Need that second book Now!!!
Okay now that I got that out. Kimberly just left me with one hell of a cliffhanger. Now you are going to love this book. I know I did. It was one emotional book for me, especially when Quinn’s friend has her car accident. I really found myself hating Quinn’s father, and the closer I got to the end of this book. I wanted to reach in that book and kill him. How can someone like that get away with the shit he is pulling? I sure hope to see that ass get his in the end. What is the saying about karma? Well let’s hope she gets him. Then there is Alex, what a wonderful man. I sure hope he can convince Quinn she is making a mistake before she does something she will truly regret. I do love how even though they have been separated for 2 years, they cannot forget each other. And even though Alex knows he loves Quinn, he will still do whatever makes her happy. Even if doing so kills him. You need to get a box of tissue for this book, you eill need them. Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do, they value your opinions too.
Gifted a copy from author/publisher in return for honest review
I'm not sure my words will portray how much I enjoyed this story but I'm going to do my best. It was nothing like I was expecting!! There was heart, depth, heat and so many more other emotions that words don't do them justice. I've read all of Kimberly's books and this book is stronger, more complexed and her writing just keeps getting better and stronger. This story line is strong and has twists I never saw coming.
I fell in love with Quinn's attitude in Inhibitions and I was beyond ready to hear her story. And this story didn't disappoint. Quinn is jaded, protective of herself, and most of all, real. She's been down heartbreak road so many times, she vows to never go there again...until Alex. Until Alex worms his way into her heart and soul. Quinn is career driven, head strong and will do anything to get to the top but when Quinn is given an ultimatum, she finds herself questioning her life, what she wants. She wants Alex, you can feel it in the pages, it jumps out and grabs a hold of your heart. But does she want the top more? Alex...I'm not even sure where to begin with him...oh yes I do...where can I find one of him?? Quinn and Alex's relationship is explosive and raw, real.
Trust me when I say, this is a book you won't regret one-clicking!
