Fans of the movies An Affair to Remember and Love Affair, will just LOVE this book. Written in Rich Amooi's uniquely humorous style this fantastic romcom novel will have you giggling uncontrollably with its cinematic visual imagery in its 200+ pages. You will see Alaska through the eyes of Oscar and Sydney, who are incidently perfect for each other but are unfortunately tied up elsewhere. Let me just warn you, Serendipity plays a HUGE role in this book so if you are not a believer, be prepared t ...more

Based to the movie An Affair to Remember. This was OK but very unrealistic.
Wow, what a roller coaster! I loved the story so much I can't believe it. Usually I'm not a fan of chick-lit and read those only if I need them for one of my challenges but this author could really change my mind about this genre.

I loved very much all characters, the realistic development of the plot and the fun style with a sprinkle of drama. The only thing I was struggling with was the serendipity issue. In the beginning it was somehow fun but got pretty fast annoying - though I'm aware it's m

An Eclair to Remember was exactly what I'd hoped it would be -- a light, funny, romantic escape novel. The characters are irresistible, and the book is virtually impossible to put down. It's that perfect detour from everyday life.

An Éclair to Remember is about these two people, Oscar and Sydney, who are engaged to different people. However, they meet on a cruise, their significant others did not want to go on. Oscar and Sydney start spending time together and consequently fall for each other.

Personally, I have an issue with cheating and books that revolve around it. I think a great burden is placed on the writer to make the case for his character to make them reach the point of where they are now. In other words, it has

*Spoiler alert*

The book starts out ok- was humorous and charming, if a bit sappy.

I enjoyed the book until the end, as soon as they left the cruise ship and agreed to meet in a month with no other way to contact each other I knew something would keep one of them from the meeting and the book became annoying to me- too predictable. And why didn't she want Oscar to know she was in the hospital? Even more annoying. Better to let him think she didn't care? So she didn't care about hurting him in ord

"Serendipity Hard At Work"

This author is quickly gaining popularity as his stories are so enjoyable. This story is inspired by the great movie, An Affair To Remember." Engaged Sydney St. James says bye to her fellow who's to busy at work to join her on a cruise liner to Alaska. On board she meets the Silicon Valley's most eligible bachelor, handsome Oscar Martin. His fiancee refused the trip and the tide changes for both Sydney and Oscar. Just imagine seeing them both reach for the last eclair o

The Golden Gate Bridge instead of the Empire State Building.

Who can forget the movie "An Affair to Remember! A wonderful movie that tore at your heart strings. Well this book has the same spirit. It is funny and very romantic. It also San Francisco instead of New York. If you are an incurable romantic then I think you'll love this book.

This was a cute romance story. Even though it was predictable, I still liked it. The characters were fun and believable. I liked the Alaskan cruise setting since I have been on two myself. Since it made me want what they had, it served its purpose.

"An Eclair to Remember" was a light-hearted and enjoyable story. I found myself reading it in cafes, waiting in the dentist office, and pretty much anywhere that was conducive to reading. I like sunshine and this book had it coming out the seams. Happy reading!

A Lot of Laughs

They meet on a cruise and are attracted to each. Only thing is they are both engaged to someone else. A tussle over an eclair leads to more encounters. Humor and romance, a great combination.

A twist

Still a lot of humor and romance. I lol'ed several times. But this time the author provided heartache as well. There is a nice balance of laughter and tears. I love these books!

Rich Amooi writes the best leading men! I enjoyed the nod to *An Affair to Remember* and the meet-cute here was an awesome introduction to the romance to come.

Loved the book. Once I started it I couldn’t put it down. Was the perfect book to read on this cold and rainy/sleeting day.

The title was adorable with the play on words and made more so when the story sort of mirrors AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER.

The book was well written with no distracting typos to take away from the story. There was no bad language whatsoever and no sex.

This is a book I would highly recommend to family and friends.
If you are looking for some great literary work of romantic fiction you have definitely picked up the wrong book. If you are looking for a quirky, easy romantic comedy then keep on reading! Sydney is on a cruise to Alaska with her bestie before her wedding. Knowing her fiance would have no interest in traveling there, he hates the cold, it's her last chance to visit. Oscar is supposed to be on the same cruise with his fiancee in order to rekindle their flame. However, she refuses to go, not unde ...more

Brilliant, as always

This is an excellent book, though I have to say Mr Crotchety is still at the top of my list. But it was a close call!

This is a simple tale of love at first fight. Sydney and Oscar meet at a buffet table during their first night abroad to Alaska. They both set their eyes on the only remaining eclair. Of course, conflict is inevitable when there's dessert involved! For me, its mostly with chocolate (I just don't share when it comes to chocolate, but a bite of my buttered crossa

An Eclair to Remember is another classic Rich Amooi novel. If you aren’t already aware, Rich Amooi is one of my favorite authors. He’s well-known for his absolutely hilarious, laugh-out-loud, romantic comedies. His novels have the perfect mix of humor, sex-appeal, drama and a happily ever after. Exactly what I want in a fun, entertaining novel!

It’s safe to say that Amooi has moved from being a ‘new’ favorite, to one of my all time favorite authors. His novels provide hilarious, sharp-witted ente

Sweet, but Overdramatic

It was a cute read, with no grammar or spelling errors that I noticed. I liked the idea of the plot, and from the sample I really liked the characters.

I kind of lost that fascination with the characters as the story went on. I think Oscar (and his family) and Leo were the only characters that I liked the entire novel (and only one of them was a regular character). A lot of the characters either had two personalities or were stock characters. Alexa was a crazy Bridezilla f

I just finish reading a delightful story called An Eclair to Remember. This is another great romantic comedy from the mind of Rich Amooi. A fast paced read that had very funny parts and some very heart touching scenes. Is it serendipity, is it love at first fight or is it just pure love? Oscar a well known celebrity is headed for an Alaskan cruise when his Fiancee' refuses to accompany him. She is more concerned with the elaborate wedding she is planning. Sydney and her friend Gina are also book ...more

Great Book!
This is another great humorous romance by Rich Amooi. Sydney St. James is working a job she hates and is engaged to a man who works nonstop and she is having cold feet. She takes off on a cruise with her best friend to Alaska. Oscar is Silicon Valley’s most eligible bachelor and is also having issues he is ready to call off his engagement to his fiancé. He is hoping that they can save their relationship on a cruise to Alaska, but he fiancé refuses to go, so he goes without her. On the

Narration - Ryan Kennard Burke - Pretty Good!

This is a cute, clean romance about two engaged people who are both questioning their choice for a future spouse. They end up meeting on an Alaska cruise (in a really cute interaction) and Oscar declares it Serendipity.
He then spends the rest of the cruise helping Sydney to come to that same conclusion.

Is there cheating? Almost, kinda, yes, but maybe not entirely? It's definitely cheating of the mind if not entirely of the body. They both

I was given this audio book in exchange for an honest review. This was my second Romantic Comedy Rich Amooi book and I was very anxious to listen to it.
This is the story of Sydney and Oscar. They are engaged (to other people) and are on a cruise to Alaska without their fiances--a sure sign of trouble in paradise. They meet over the dessert table and ensue "fighting" over the last eclair. They soon discover that they are perfect for each other, but there is the teeny, tiny issue of the fiances lef

This book is full of banter and two people that are realizing how unhappy they are in their lives.

Sidney is engaged to marry a VP that is never home. Always working. She is going on a cruise with her best friend to Alaska. Oscar is engaged and trying to rekindle his relationship with his bridezilla by going on the same cruise. But she is not willing to go because she just has tooo wedding things to do.

So the word serendipity comes up quite often in this book. Mostly out of the Spaniard Oscar. He
