Out of the three books in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series , Sewn With Joy turned out to be my favorite. In fact it is the best book I've read so far this year. The covers on all three books were colorful and eye catching, which to me is very important. Each book was about one of the daughters in the Miller family.
The titles of the books were cleverly made to include the daughter's name that was the main character in that book. Made with love was about Lovina Miller . Planted With Hope introduced

I enjoyed reading this book. This was a nice way to end the series. The main character, Joy, was likable. She is a quilter and works in a fabric store. The story also involves Matthew and Alicia. I liked Matthew from the start, but it took a while for me to like Alicia. I was disappointed that her, Joy's, sisters weren't involved more in this story. Also, I thought the story was interesting, and I liked the ending, but I thought it would end differently. The thing I liked best about this book wa ...more

Another awesome book my Tricia Goyer! This is the third book in the series Pinecraft Pie Shop and can be read as a stand alone book. I love the recipes that are included in the book and the Amish Proverbs.

SEWN WITH JOY is the third book in this series. Filled with yummy recipes, Amish quotes, and sewing tips, it is so much more than a simple story. The faith message is also strong and powerful.

Joy is sweet, peaceful, and appropriately named. Matthew is judgmental, angry, and he made me furious. Why would Joy want to marry a man like that? A man whose father is like that? I dated a guy like Matthew for awhile, but I wasn't good enough for their oh-so-perfect Southern Baptist family. Never mind tha

I really enjoyed this series. I love the different recipes that are included too. A couple of diffucult topics were discussed in the book, including abortion and suicide. They were treated in a loving manner but may be difficult to read if someone has had an experience with either of those.

Sewn With Joy by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore is an Amish romance. It is book three in the Pinecraft Pie shop series but can be read as a stand-alone. I absolutely loved it. I love every book that I have ever read by Tricia Goyer. She not only writes cracking stories and her books also honour God.
Sewn With Joy is an amazing story with so many godly themes. There is the desperate search for God. "You have nothing if you don't have God." So many people do not realise that they need God. They try t

I adore this series and I sure hope that there are more novels to come because there are still two Miller sisters who need to have their stories told. No worries if you haven't read the first two books in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series -- this reads well as a standalone though, of course, there are carry over characters that I was thrilled to get reacquainted with. Like seventy-year old quilt shop owner, Elizabeth who contributes snippets of simple wisdom that rocked my world. Like this: "If God ...more

I've always been intrigued with he Amish way of life. Some people see their life as easy, free of technology, social media and drama. In my eyes, I see the Amish world as a simple world, but a hard world as well. Their lifestyle is anything but easy, the don't use " gadgets" to make their life easier, they work hard and love hard.
In the book Sewn with Joy, you will find love, dedication, sorrow, pain, and most of all God.
The book tells the story of Joy, a young Amish woman who loves her family,

My Review for Sewn with Joy

Sewn with Joy is Book #3 in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore.
It is Christian Amish fiction in a contemporary setting.

Joy is a solid Amish woman who was sure she had found her "one true love"
and plots her future, thinking everything has been mapped out.
One night changes everything.
What will happen when a TV crew of Englishers show up in the little Amish community of Pinecraft, Florida?
Can sewing teach her a lesson of God's love?

Two worlds in collision - one is the proper Amish one, one is the wild following of God. Joy is to decide - to live the proper, rule-obiding life, or will she serve her neighbours?

The best in the series yet!
The conflict is real, the pain is real. And it is an interesting, catchy read!

The TV crowd comes to Pinecraft to shot the TV series about the Amish. And the Amish people are not happy about the supposed profanity and usage of the Amish environment.

"You have nothing if you don't have God." ~Joy Miller

Sewn With Joy focuses on the story the middle Miller daughter, Joy - a seamstress, quilter and devout Amish young lady - and the unique path she took on her mission to honor God.

This was definitely the most layered storyline of the series. I loved the English (non Amish) influence and characters. Both Joy and her English friend, Alicia, had a lot to struggle with over the course of the story. We also see the point of view of Matthew, Joy's int

The third book in this trilogy is about the third of five Amish sisters, Joy, whose talent is sewing and quilting. She is in love with the bishop's son, and it looks like her wedding may soon be published. Yet, when a movie crew comes to town to film a new TV drama about the Amish, Joy is asked to sew Amish dresses for the female cast. Going against her community's rules about associating with the Englisch (non-Amish), Joy agrees to sew the dresses. The bishop - and his son - are not happy. Alth ...more

How could I not like a book that has a couple paragraphs about how sewing enhances one's character? I purchased this book for a quarter and it was a delightful read with a lot of Amish wisdom and recipes.
A few favorite quotes were as follows: "Instead of putting others in their place, put yourself in their place," page 139. Talking about gossip magazines, from the same page, "I'm not sure why folks pay good money to read bad news. I just know it hurts plenty when it's you everyone's wagging thei

I really enjoy this series and how the author intricately weaves the plots together throughout the books. Each of the Miller sisters have unique personalities with unique gifts and interests that are used to change the lives of others in this small community. This is the third book in the series but each can be read independently. I am excited and hopeful that the author will continue this series by writing the stories of the last two sisters.

This book has a very important message. It seemed that Joy was doing something displeasing to her Amish community by interacting with the people from the TV show. However, God was using her in their lives to draw them closer to their Savior. Praise God! The Lord doesn't always use the same methods in which to draw people to Him. We need to be willing to serve Him in whatever way He wants, even if it is uncomfortable for us. Very well done!

Loved this third installment in the series, and I really hope the author keeps it going. It's Amish fiction set near where I grew up, so pretty much right up my alley. It's a sweet story, though sometimes I found myself thinking that a lot of the drama could be avoided if the characters would just *talk* to each other--but then we wouldn't have a plot, right?

I loved the third book in this series. They have all been unique in their own way! But there is still another daughter younger than the three in this series so far. Hoping for more than a trilogy here.
Matthew is the Bishops son is he able to go against his wishes to court her beloved? Read and see what happens in the third of this wonderfully sweet story not without it's ups and downs.

This is my least favorite couple in the series. Matthew is SO not ready to be a husband. His anger was so sudden and so fierce that it frightened her, but then she forgets about it and we should too. You'd think that a man who waited so long to choose a spouse might be a bit more stable. Joy could do better.

Not too bad of a book. I did like most of the characters, but I was kind of disappointed that the authors didn't write the wedding scenes for Lovina and Hope!!!

This is a touching, love that is endless, and courageous. Joy was a devout CHRISTian, and she is very instinctual when it comes to the spreading of the WORD. She spreads the WAY(JESUS). Those around her stand up and listen. She may not always speak her faith she may just show it. Joy is Amish and is courting Matthew, but when a Production crew comes through town they want to hire, she is the one they hire. In her time of her time with them she spreads the Good News. Matthew is kind of worried of ...more

Sewn with Joy by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore is the third book in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series. Joy Miller lives in Pinecraft, Florida (eight square blocks in Sarasota, Florida) with her family. Joy works at the local quilt shop and is also a seamstress. She makes items that are sold in local shops (aprons for Lovina’s pie shop). Joy has been seeing Matthew Slagel, the bishop’s son. Matthew is very picky and opinionated (wants things done a certain way). Then a television company comes to town ...more

I don't know how I missed that this was an Amish story. I don't have anything against Amish romance, but I was just not in the mood for an Amish romance. The trouble I had with this novel wasn't that I wasn't in the mood for it, though. The writing was very good, the story line was intriguing, and faith played an important role throughout the story. But since it was the 3rd book in a series, I had a terrible time trying to catch up. That's the trouble with a series. How does one write it without ...more

This is book three in the Amish Pinecraft Pie Shop series of books, and in this book Joy is courting Matthew Slagel, son of the Bishop. She secretly hopes she will be the next to get married as currently she is helping to make the wedding dresses for two of her sisters. Joy craves to be the housewife and eventual mother to her and hopefully Matthew’s children one day. For right now she is content with their courtship and dreaming about their wedding.

About the Book:

Nothing makes Joy Miller happier than sewing. And nothing makes Matthew Slagel, the bishop's son, happier than spending time with Joy.

With the rising popularity of the Me, Myself, and Pie shop run by Joy's eldest sister, Lovina, comes an increasing demand for souvenirs like aprons and dishtowels. Joy's handiwork soon catches the attention of a television crew preparing to film a new Amish TV series. While she is initially hired to sew the costumes, she finds herself becoming a con

Sewn With Joy is the third book in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series written by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore. This book centers around Joy Miller and her desire to marry and become a mom.

Although Joy seems to be on the right path to marry Matthew Slagel, son of the Bishop, things are going along alittle to perfect. When Matthew learns that Joy has befriended members of a TV crew he draws back and tries to understand what has gotten into his perfect Joy. Joy tries to explain about the need of extra m
