I read this book cover to cover as part of my preparation for my viva/OSCE Fellowship exams for the UK's Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. I used it to structure my studies, and I am so grateful that a book like this exists for the dizzying array of topics that seem to come up. Thank you.

I've heard rumours that there are a couple of tiny typos, and I think this book is a handful of years old now, so a second edition would be welcome at some point. Ideally, this would retain the concise yet comprehensive balance that this book achieves, keeping readers abreast of the status quo in research literature, and clarifying how we arrived here.

I felt well prepared after reading this - alongside Flavin and Nichani, plus a tonne of viva practice.
