At age 13 in the early 1800's, Chelsea went to live in a mysterious convent with other girls like her, those who can morph their arms and legs into various tools and weapons and also live for hundreds of years. In 2016, she lives alone in Los Angeles, not looking a day over 30 years old and hunting the occasional serial killer. She learns of renewed efforts by a radical sect called the Pure Breds, whose goal is to eliminate all morphs from the human bloodline. Agents from the Department of Homeland Security forcibly bring her into protective custody and make her an offer to help stay alive.

I really enjoyed reading this novella! I loved how different and interesting the characters and their abilities were and I thought it was so cool to go back and forth between past and present as well as different points of view. I really recommend it if you want a quick but interesting read.
