Look!: The Ultimate Spot-The-Difference Book
Exotic flora and fauna spring to life in this breath-takingly beautiful and unusual book. At first glance the pictures on facing pages seem identical. But sharp readers will spot differences when they take a closer look. Some differences are easy to spot; others will be a challenge. Full-color and two-color illustrations.

Beautiful, extremely detailed and high quality paintings of nature scenes in various biomes, with 12 differences between the two copies of each picture. My favorite scenes are the zebra herd and the desert scene with three wild horses. There is no text on these pages beyond a title/caption (e.g. A Forest of Ferns: the rain forests of Australia and New Guinea), but there is an answer key in the back which includes a description of each setting as well as a guide to all of the species shown, featuring their name and a sentence or two about them.
That gave this book multiple levels of activity for me: after I'd memorized all the differences, I could read the answer key, and then my little animal-trivia-hoovering brain could be challenged to memorize all the species of flora and fauna (this book is also how I learned the words "flora" and "fauna"). Other times, I could be entertained simply by gazing at all the animals and making up stories about them.
This was another gift from a family friend when I was 5 (she was sort of like a bookish fairy godmother, honestly; not that I ever hurt for books, but she went out of her way to buy special new hardcovers with dust jackets for me), and I'm very grateful for it because even now, it's beautiful enough to be a coffee table book.

Readers must look carefully to find all twelve vital differences in the two facing pages, each illustrating one of Earth’s natural habitats. Explore the flora and fauna of South Asia, northern Europe, and Mexico; visit the rain forests of Australia, New Guinea, the Amazon, and central Africa. Explore life in the Red Sea, in the grasslands of the African savanna, and in the volcanic springs of Japan. Investigate the mountain scrub of Australasia, the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
A key provides the answers for each set of pictures and offers brief bits of information about each animal or plant featured in the illustration. Readers of all ages are sure to find much here to appreciate.
Highly recommended.

Ever since Where's Waldo was printed, there have been so many look-and-find books that it's hard to know which one(s) to choose. I like this one for the beautiful nature drawings that invite the reader into the scene.

Great spot-the-difference book, beautiful illustrations. Personally, while I didn't really go into this kind of thing when I was younger, this was one of the few such books to really hold my interest (most likely the animals/nature settings really helped).
