I was extra excited to read this book as I had just finished The Hidden Congregation by the same author, and I happen to love sequels. I was not disappointed. Although the story is not quite the good vs. evil I was expecting, it was a great detective mystery story. Esp. being that the main detective is our humble minister, Ox Christy. Having read The Hidden Congregation, and knowing this was the sequel, I was excited to slip through the rabbit hole and back into this unique reverend’s life. Not only is he a great example of a spiritual leader, but an excellent detective (albeit one who stumbles upon situations). Delamare does an outstanding job of grabbing your attention, keeping it and educating you in the process. Nursing home abuse is rampant, and there are human body diamonds. I looked it up. Unreal.
