I bought this book as a 12 year old child, and I read it over and over again, devouring every breed, and planning every dog I was likely to own in my entire life.

These days, I am a dog trainer and dog consultant. I offer a service where I make breed advice for families looking to add a dog to their household, and this book comes with me - it's quick reference format, simple pictures, and sample of the most common breeds all make it a great sampler. Many breeds are missing, but the simplicity is part of the appeal of this book.
