Rate this book
Sergeant Yolanda Benjamin (Benny) meets Sabrina Miller for the second time in ten years. The baby is now a daredevil ten-year-old. Ellie dares three neighborhood boys they can’t shake her off the top of the monkey bars. Benny happens by in her patrol car as the girl hits the dirt. She doesn’t recognize Ellie as the same baby whose diapers she changed until Sabrina arrives in the ER. Stress makes some people do strange things and that includes Sabrina. She’s anxious about Ellie’s injuries and seeks the comfort of Benny’s body in an empty hospital bed. Later, she’s ashamed of her actions. She accuses Benny of using her and then bragging about it to her daughter’s surgeon, who is also Benny’s best friend, Dr. Zach Reese. She vows never to see Benny again.

Meanwhile, Benny is hurt that Sabrina would so think little of her but curious and attracted too. When Benny returns Ellie’s bike, she confronts Sabrina. She also meets Sabrina’s mother-in-law, Louisa Porter, and her friend Myrtle. The master matchmakers decide that Benny is Sabrina’s potential match when Louisa notes Ellie’s positive reaction to her and the glow in Benny’s eyes as she looks at Sabrina. Louisa and Myrtle scheme to bring the two women together, but will fate intervene first?

I’m a creator of romance who lost my way. I’m a dream weaver trapped in a world of useless information, bottom lines and bean counters. In short, I’m a writer. I pen novels of love, adventure and humor with African American lesbians as main characters.

I love writing and reading books. I’m a trivia buff and a movie freak. Just ask me and I’ll go see a movie, any movie at the drop of a hat. I’m crazy about my car. It’s a 15-year old VW convertible. Guess I like classic dependable things. I should mention I’m a curious sort too. I want to see, feel and experience as much as I can before I die and I plan on living a long time. My people live into their late nineties to over hundred and five.
