Fans of sci-fi will love this!
The third SR novel and the best so far. Very entertaining and well-written. I thoroughly enjoyed this and highly recommend.

This is an amazing series!! Believable characters and great action. The stories flow nicely. You cannot go wrong with this series! Pick up the first book if you haven’t!

This is probably the best of the 3 so far, with the writing really maturing, and bringing the quality of the story up to a really high standard of Sci-Fi. Previously the stories have been good, but a little on the light-weight side, fun reads with good exceptional combat sequences, but missing some of the really decent dialogue to push it to the next level.
Mission Wraith steps up.
In this one, Austin has to go dark, going on a secret mission to steal a Zahlian Interceptor that has all sorts of unique tech and is causing major issues along the border worlds. The Wraith is basically invisible to sensors, and is almost invisible to the naked eye, and with superior shielding, weapons and cloaking tech, it is going to threaten the ongoing survival of the Legion. Austin is tasked with stealing it.
Thus begins a harrowing mission for him, in which he has to enter enemy territory, steal the Wraith and escape.
There are all sorts of twists and turns, political agendas, espionage, as well as some fascinating morale issues that Austin has to face and overcome in this story, and Thomas again does an exceptional job of writing this to captivate the reader.
This is the first time that Austin and the crew really venture from the Academy, and although there was some decent fighting in the second book, this is the first time that they are out in the field. The book moves from being more of a teen high school Sci-Fi series to a full Mil Sci-Fi series in this episode, reminding me more of a Battlestar Galactica episode with the desperation of the characters, and Austin actually growing up a bit and realising that others are making some series sacrifices for him to do his job. Whilst Austin has always been the most switched on in the series, understanding the losses, and emotionally feeling things, this time, he really understands the outcomes.
The tech in this book takes a bit of a jump to, the stealth tech of the enemy ship ‘The Wraith’ is clearly brilliant. As with all the other books, the ship to ship combat is spectacular and worth reading the book just for this.
The other aspect of this book that has really grown is the character work. Whilst the first two books had some decent character work, there is some real depth to the characters this time around, and not such from Austin, but from others as well, such as Scorpion.
This is the best book in the series so far, and is a must read. I think one of the important things to remember with this series is that this is meant to be about having a good fun read, with some outstanding character writing and even better ship to ship dogfights. Enjoy!
