Can’t Walk Away is book one in the brand new series, Nashville Dreams, by Sandy James. I am such a fan of Sandy’s writing and have been so excited about this upcoming series. First, let’s just gaze at this cover. That alone was incentive to read this book. And I assure you that this book most certainly did live up to it’s cover. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

Can't Walk Away is the first book in the new series Nashville Dreams by Sandy James, a new-to-me author. Set in Nashville, the city that "music calls home" and the "songwriting capital of the world," there's plenty of inspiration for entertaining and fun-to-read storylines for these characters, along with the potential to be real crowd pleasers.

I'm walking away (heh) from this one really early. Some of it is that they both have the same background of done-wrong by love with a Nashville-is-nasty chaser. So it feels a little heavy. But most of it is just that my mood shifted crosswise to this story in a hard way. Which is why I'm dnfing without a rating as it really isn't the story's fault. Sadly, I think it is a hard-enough mood cross that I doubt I'll be able to pick it up later.

Can’t Walk Away by Sandy James is a sweet sentimental second chance love story that brings forth the union of two strangers. Unexpected. Sweet. Sexy. Down Right Heartwarming. Those are the words that I’d choose to describe Can’t Walk Away.
Can’t Walk Away follows the story of Brad and Savannah. Once upon a time, Brad was one of Nashville’s biggest stars. That was until life threw him an unexpected curve ball, taking all if his passion with him. Now instead of writing and singing music, he finds himself tending bar, trying to escape the pain of the past. All is going the way that Brad has planned…that is until Brad meet ...more

Loved. I was mad at Russ and Eric for their berating Brad and thinking he could not change his ways but he proved them wrong with his feelings and actions towards Savannah.
Brad just grabs you from the beginning. what he went through and how he tried to stop the pain is just so heartbreaking. He is a good guy. He cares and is kind. He gets lost in his head though when a song comes to him and tends to forget everything. Watching him turn down his personalit ...more

Can’t Walk Away by Sandy James is the first book in her Nashville Dreams series and it’s about two lost and hurt people trying to find their way. It was at times sad, but also sweet and heartwarming.

This is the first book by this author that I've read. This is the first book in this series by this author. This is a melt your heart romance story, perfect for these winter nights. This story will make you laugh, cry and smile as you read. The characters were amazing, I just fell in love with them from the start. The secondary characters were really good too and worked well in the story and helped it to move along at a nice pace. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

2.5 "I almost walk away" stars.
A single mom.
A cute little girl.
A possessive hero.
And music.
So why I didn't like it? Maybe I just wasn't in the right mind frame right now... or the fact that the red bitch is due any day and she ruins my life every month, but I can't for the life of me get into this one.
Slow romance or insta-love. I read them all. But I need to feel something. I'm the type of reader that needs that, to feel the bond between the characters. To bond with them. Unfortunately, this ...more

When you are drawn to a title for no reason...that's how I approached Can't Walk Away. I can't say it was because it's based within the centre of country music roots because I don't even like the genre. However, the 'je ne sais quoi' worked it's magic for me.
Brad 'Hitman' Maxwell may still be surrounded by the music that made his fortune but nowadays he's happier working the bar and managing Words and Music. When a new talent mesmerises him during the bar's Indie talent night, it not on ...more

Can’t Walk Away by Sandy James is a book about taking second chances and a love of music. I am a sucker for anything that has to do with music. Books featuring a singer or a band are ones that I love. This one was no exception. It was a great story about two people that have been through a lot. I laughed and I cried, and I fell in love with the supporting characters. They were amazing and really added to the story.

Brad "Hitman" Maxwell had it all... a promising music career, the fame all that head to Nashville hope to find, and then in an blink of an eye it was gone. Now he has settled for a much more subdued lifestyle, spending his nights behind the bar slinging drinks, instead of being on the stage entertaining the crowd. It's not exactly the life he thought he wind up having, but it is what is, and he is doing his best to embrace it... but then a beautiful woman with the voice of an angel wanders into

Savannah can be quite distracting to Brad, “you keep that up,” he said with a growl in his voice, “I’m gonna drive us right off the road.” Brad always wants to do right by his woman, and the man has a big stubborn side, “I’m going, Savannah. I’ll stay out of the meeting and sit in the lobby like a good boy. But I’m going. And that’s the end of the discussion.” I enjoyed this book, I loved the chemisrry between Brad and Savannah.

Brad 'Hitman' Maxwell was once a brilliant songwriter, but he gave it all up when he discovered his late wife's betrayal. Now he owns a successful bar and loves how pouring beers helps distract him from what happened in the past. However, the moment Savannah Wolf steps onto the stage and sings, Brad finds himself pulled back into the world he left behind, especially since Savannah inspires him to write songs again. Yet, when the past begins to rear its ugly head and Savannah finds herself a targ ...more

Can't Walk Away immersed me in the sounds of Nashville and left me wanting more. Savannah goes from waitress to successful country singer and some of the fame and problems that go along with it attach to her. Can't Walk Away is a really good read. At first, the story is slow and I was unsure of how I would like it. By chapter 2 or 3, the story picks up. The settings are written well and characters are easy to enjoy.

Both Brad and Savannah have super trust issues, which you can imagine what that means. Yep, just a few bumps that end up being a bigger deal than maybe they should have been. Part of their problem is that they have a pretty hard time ignoring their attraction to each other so they are moving pretty fast. Leading to lots of assumptions and jumping to conclusions that is only exacerbated by their trouble with trusting each other.
