Bella and Braxton: A Hood Love Story
" Labella! Go to the store and get some roach spray. Hattie and Tommy done had babies again."
Growing up in the hood of Covington, KY wasn't so great for sixteen year old Labella Jones. Living in a world where you have to teach your self how to be a woman because your mother's minimum wage job takes all of her time isn't so easy. Fighting everyday to overcome teenage jealousy and bullying because you don't fit in with the "it" crowd was a ritual for young Bella.
When a harsh situation brings Bella and Choc, one of the most popular girls in school together, Bella learns how to love herself for who she is even with dirty clothes, nappy hair and all.
Waking up everyday knowing that to the world you're nothing but to him you're everything made a big change in Bella's life.
Meet Braxton " B", struggling to make it out of the hood but falling victim to the only resource available in the hood "drugs" to survive. B makes it a priority to teach Bella the true meaning of "Love your self first or no one will" while still trying to find himself. Being a black man coming from poverty they expect you to fail and thats exactly what the police is doing even if they have to play dirty to keep there statistics going.
When feelings get involved, rumors are spread will Bella and Braxton be able to survive to tell their "hood love story?"

Good read!
Bella and Braxton relationship is just weird. Pumpkin had a good friend in bella but let choc mess it up. It's too much sexing going on and no protection though not good. The ending though I wonder if B had something to do with that. And I wanna know the outcome of pumpkins life.

so......let me just say....I hated the ending..but in a GOOD way...like ..why did it have to end leaving me hanging like that?!!!... now to the good stuff....I can't stand Pumpkin infested ass, or Choc! they're every hood nightmare!! I really wish Bella would grow up & just allow things to flow with Braxton...he's bae❤....other than that... IMA need part 2 like YESTERDAY!! I have so many questions and I'm dying to see Bella's development! overall this was a good read, actually the first I've read from this author & I'm looking forward to what else she has in store! 5 stars!

B and B
Bella and Braxton are quite the pair. I loved how Braxton tried to educate her on the ways of the world. I loved Skeem and Liv together as well. Liv was a good friend to Bella. Choc deserved everything that she got. Poor Pumpkin had a good friend in Bella but messed it up by listening to Choc. I don't trust Fresh, I think that he is up to no good. I need part 2 asap, because I need to know who kidnapped Bella's baby.

Very good book
This was a great story ...a page turner and I loved the drama and characters...I will say Bella was getting on my nerves not that I didn't like her she just was sooooo naïve but definitely reading part 2 ....I recommend this book.

OMG this book is jaw dropping 😱 Just unbelievable! I know this much though. I hope Choc get hurt or killed. I hate her. I'm glad Pumpkin got her dose of karma. Author Jan'a I'm your new reader DeeDee. I like you already! I'm go check out more of your books for sho! Right now I'm ready for book 2!

Good Read
My first read from this author and I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. Keeping secrets got Bella in a world of trouble when it came to Bre'Ella. B need to get home asap. I can't wait to read book 2.

I must say this was a great read. Non stop action from the beginning and the cliff hanger at the end made me go find book two in the middle of the night.
This is not your typical hood novel where the bad chick get the man, cheats and then they get back together after screwing everyone in the hood. In this novel you see the underdog (Bella) gain the love and trust of the corner boy (B). But in so many terms you do not have to consider him as a corner boy. I would say that he is a good guy with no means but what he is used too. You see throughout the novel that B keeps everything 100 with Bella about their "friendship" but of course he starts to gets feelings and cant process it. After the first and only sexual encounter the tables of the friendship have now charged to relationship but both are scared to make that commitment.
Fights, welfare families, love, and true feeling bring about babies and changes...
This book will not disappointment.!!!

Has Potential to be a good book
This book seemed too me as if it was kind of all over the place. It has the potential to be a really good book. Labella was your typical naïve girl and B was her best friend to rescue her from it all. As the book went on it started getting predictable to a certain extent. He tells her to stay away from Fresh but that's who she runs too immediately. Also her pregnancy, delivery and hospital stay it all seemed far fetched. Hopefully part 2 clears up quite a bit.

A Must Read!!!!
This is a must read!!!! I like Bella but I kinda don't feel sorry for her bc everything that Braxton was trying to teach her and tell her went in one ear and out the other. Bella is naive but she needs to open her eyes bc even I could read between the lines and tell that Fresh is her sister baby daddy... Smh!!! I love Braxton bc he always keeps it real no matter what. The ending had me like WTF and I hated how she did B at the end bc he always told her to come to him first.... I can't wait for pt. 2!!!! Great Read!!!

Brandon is the man
A hood read but not the hood expectations, a great read but rushed on certain situations. Brandon is a stand up guy no matter how he gets his money. Brandon sees something in Bella and now that he has the chance to open her eyes to her true beauty. Bella is so naive but with Brandon teaching her street/world lessons she comes out her shell. Choc is just pathetic. Pumpkin has the wrong guidance and now her world is changed. Bella keeping her secret from Brandon is out and ready for more

Bring on part 2
Bella Bella Bella, I can't believe she is dealing with Fresh. I truly thought she would have shown loyalty to B, even tho he kept messing up with Choc. I can't til part 2 comes out and I hope Bella finally sees Fresh for who he really is. It's something funny about him, why would u wanna claim your enemies daughter. I read this entire book in 1 sitting, I would definitely recommend it.

Satisfied Reader
I love the story and how Braxton was schooling Bella on how to deal with things in life. He was right but wrong on how he talked to Choc in front of her. Choc was very naïve and would do anything to get to B. Pumpkin realized sleeping around wasn't worth the pain she'll be enduring in the future. I wonder what's up with Fresh is he Moody's baby daddy. I wonder who's the mastermind in the kidnapping. Can't wait for pt.2 Great Job

This was a good read, had me hooked I really didn't want it to end. I don't like the ending at all, I thought Bella was so dam stupid when she was parading around with Fresh and then going to not tell Braxton he was the father of her daughter, like how dum can u be, now her is kidnapped and she don't know who is responsible, what a dummy. Anyway I can't wait to find out what happens next.

This was a good book...I like Braxton and Bella together but she started getting on my nerves and the whole Fresh situation is to much I think her sister baby is by Fresh, I feel bad for Pumpkin she is in a horrible situation and the whorish Choc is trifling and grimy...

I loved b fr he kept it 1000 @ all times

I liked the way Braxton schooled Bella to the real world & what could possibly happen if she wasn't careful. It was just what Bella needed although she didn't always listen. Choc was just an evil & vindictive female. At first I thought Pumpkin was going to be a good friend, but her true colors finally came through. Exciting ending has me looking forward to reading more of this story.

Bella and Braxton have a weird relationship if you want to call it that. Choc is ridiculously thirsty and she got exactly what she deserved. It's good that Bella has Liv in her life because she seems to be more of a sister then her own sister does. Fresh seems a little too eager to be with Bella ...Can't wait to read what happens next.

Pumpkin got me really thinking she was a good girl. I hope Dolph is fine and make something of his self. Bella is still kind of naive. She should figure Fresh is her nephew father. Wonderful read!

Great story !
Loved this book from beginning to end ! Although I still think Bella needs to stop acting like a kid and grow up it was an amazing story. I'll be patiently waiting for part 2 to come out .
