A useful text that documents the Kanak independence movement, and the mind of Tjibaou, a key figure in this history. Many times I was both stunned and sad that the beats are the same - the struggle, the disappointment. How something that unfolded in the 80s and 90s carry on til present day. How this is not (yet) history, if we are still living through it and with it.
