this was absolutely beautiful. it made my love for london that much greater. there are some amazing photographs, interviews and essays within that i highly recommended if you want to fall in love with london or continue falling in my case! i honestly want to work for cereal the way this was set out, written and just overall done inspired me and made me want to write in such a way to influence and inspire others as this has done for me within the 1 hour of reading it!!
A really nicely curated book. I agree with the critiques that it’s a bit more “hipster” than your typical tourist guide. However i enjoyed their selection and photographs.
I don’t know if it’s just my copy but I felt the editing was subpar. Some pages felt out of place without an intro, and one location has the same paragraph copied twice on 2 pages back to back. I don’t think it’s a binding issue as the pages are numbered correctly. Just poor editing.
gorgeous. the book is filled with absolutely stunning photography, design, and writing, and now all I want to do is pack everything up and visit each store, hotel, restaurant, and book shop recommended in the book just to see the gorgeous sights myself. the essays were my favourite though, and I wish there were more included.
