To put me in a small nutshell, I read, write, love my tea, and tend to be my cat's pillow. Never thought I'd get into writing, much less love it, but here I am, scribbling in notebooks, living in these crazy made up worlds, and talking my boyfriend's ear off from time to time about some random storyline. But when I read, I get into a bubble that I don't like to have popped. Especially since I am a slow reader.

So far, my only published works are "Ghost" and "Bartender." Both are apart of the "Lost Gun" series I'm writing. "Ghost" has kind of become my baby and, despite beating him up a lot, I fell in love with my hitman. Here's to hoping y'all love Ghost as much as I do! And yes, he does have a name, you just have to read the story to discover said name. Samuel on the other hand, you'll first meet him in "Ghost" but his story is "Bartender" and he has no problem keeping things straight. Trust me, dude is a walking, uh, actually, I'll let you figure that one out.

What else? I'm a born and raised Texan. Practically raised in a barn, played soccer too much, and a lover of animals. If you met my cats, you'd see that they are the true rulers of my home. What's theirs is theirs and what's mine is theirs! For college, I practically ran to Ohio State University. Yes, ran. I'm not a big fan of the heat, snow is so much better! Besides, who could pass up a snowball fight and hot chocolate? During college, I ended up changing majors twice before settling in Human Development and Family Science, which, the best way I can describe it is, is like the theoretical side of growing up. I also minored in Design. After college, I managed to hide in Ohio for a couple years before pulling a long all-nighter driving back to Texas with a sleeping cat in the passenger seat. Since I've been back, I focused on my writing. A few lemons later, "Ghost" stumbled into my head and voila, now I'm here. As any good writer, I believe, I have a nasty addiction to coffee and tea. Another bad habit, staying up way too late since my best work is born in the middle of the night. Not that I mind, it's quiet, until one of my cats decides it's playtime.

He is death, waiting in the shadows, an assassin for hire, part man and part monster, he is the legend known as the Ghost. There is no room in his life for complications, or conscience and he stands alone, like a fortress against the world of attachments, until he broke his own rule and saved an innocent young woman’s life, hiding her instead of killing her.

In a world where mobs rule and there are always wars, he is the secret weapon, but now he is caught between two families vying for power at any cost and neither knows he holds the daughter of one boss in his apartment, while each are willing to pay for his services. Does he play them off one another or does he go to the highest bidder? What of his captive? She is burrowing into his heart, the heart he didn’t think he still had and that causes distractions. Distractions cause mistakes, mistakes cause death, quite possibly his…

Lindsey Elyse has drawn a dark and twisted plot, as we are invited into the mind of a killer and learn what makes him tick, how he plans for all possibilities from deceit, a trap, to tests of his allegiance. Cold and calculating, yet with a gaping wound of loneliness that festers more with each day he is near his captive, an innocent pawn, a powerful tool, a deadly secret to keep.

With a bold writing style, Lindsey Elyse holds nothing back, from the detailed scenes of gunfights to the ease with which one man can kill. Still, it is hard to reconcile that the Ghost is a criminal as his human side emerges, raw and untamed. If you like taught and tense thrillers filled with suspense where the ending is so far around the next bend that you cannot figure it out, do yourself a favor and try Ghost on for size!

I received this copy from Lindsey Elyse in exchange for my honest review.

What a read! To say that it was captivating would surely have be an understatement!

The author first introduces this young nameless ten year old boy. The child is filled with rage against it's mother who was a prostitute. The boy is hungry, cold and freezing. He is forced to live like a thief and scavenge for food. To make matters worse he suffered severe abuse. The child is so well described that you almost feel cold when he is cold and feel hungry when he desperately searches for food.

It was a very clever move to introduce the infamous hit-man named Ghost as this abandoned ten-year old because it would make it hard for the readers to relate to him later when he is already trained to become a professional assassin. A merciless man who cares only about killing the target and the money he gets for the kill.

He is a legacy and carries the name Ghost which was also the name of his predecessor. The man from he tried to steal a watch as a child but was in turn taken in by that man. Given food and shelter and trained to become a killer.
Problems start to arise when he is tasked with killing a drug-crime boss's daughter and for some in-explainable reason finds that he just can't pull the trigger on her. He considers making her another ghost but then he deems her too weak.

It is the Ghosts confusing and strange relationship with this girl Anna White that makes the book so compelling. Their dialogues and the way Ghosts character starts to reshape itself around the girl in something very similar to a quest of redemption. But Anna though seemingly weak has her own character and without giving away too many spoilers it would be safe to say that there is far more to her then meets the eye.

I can almost say that this book is like drinking a cup of hot chocolate. At first you want to taste it so bad that you burn your tongue at how hot it is. In relation to the book it means that you turn those pages really fast and just can't wait to see what is written on the other one. Then it becomes so good that you loose yourself in it and once you're done drinking the chocolate it's like you're very sad it's all over.

Great book! Great author! Five stars from me!

I was gifted with an ARC of this novel by the author, and that has not biased this review.

“Ghost” is a murder mystery in which the author did a masterful job of making the murderer appear sympathetic. He kills for money, without remorse; men and women. It doesn’t matter to him as long as his clients pay him for his services. How does one create sympathy for a mass murderer? I'm not sure, but she did it and I'm still wondering how?

“Ghost” is also a love story where the main character’s profession (as a hired gun) is nearly ruined by his love of a girl. No spoiler here, but the final chapter, the epilogue, is written from the girl’s point of view and is quite satisfying as an ending.

Ghost is a self-published novel which, in my opinion, needs some help. My main complaint is with the editing and formatting. Throughout the novel, Ms. Elyse makes little indication of who is talking and acting. There are many times when dialogue beats, such as "he said," or "she said" and paragraph breaks would have helped. Several times, I found myself having to go back a few paragraphs, or even pages, to determine who was speaking. Also, the book contains numerous spelling and grammatical problems which tended to ruin the story's experience for me.

Also, there are some gunfights that don’t seem real or logical. Both the “Ghost” and his adversaries, in near point blank range, can’t seem to effectively aim their guns at each other. Both shooters, get shot several times without killing each other, then recuperate within a few days.

Overall, I loved the story line. It had some interesting twists. However, in the last few chapters, Ms. Elyse dumps a bunch of twists that don’t seem logical based on what went on earlier in the story.

Due to the problems I mentioned above, the best rating I can give is 3 stars.

***This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review***

Lindsey Elyse has taken a bold move with this book. She has painted a pretty dark and twisted storyline where she puts you in a killers point of view. She takes you on a journey inside a well established hit mans mind. You will have insight on how a killer thinks, moves, and sees the world in front of him. With a very detailed and descriptive imagery. This author is no holds bar. She keeps it pure and realistic. It is one amazing journey so sit back and enjoy the ride!

Ghost is a very well known assassin for hire. A legend if you will. A man who is cold, calculated, detached, intelligent and has a talent for taking out a target with ease. A quick and easy in and out is his way. That is until he is hired to take out Anna White. A wealthy heiress. On this particular job he hesitates. There is just something about this girl that intrigues him. She stirs emotions in Ghost that he thought he'd never see again.

A job that was intended to be easy quickly turns into a kidnapping and so much more. As the story unfolds you see Ghost unknowingly at first start his road to redemption all because of miss Anna.

These characters are complex and compliment each other in so many ways. The dialect between the two is compelling and sucks you right in.

There is so much more to this book, but to find out you will just have to read it! I recommend you do soon! Bravo Lindsey I give you 5 stars! You had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put your book down!

A lot of books start slow and end up amazing, this book is not that. You will be on the edge of your seat from page one. There is never a dull moment. It is stacked with adventure and action. The beginning introduces you into a world that even if it hasn't happened to you, you can still relate in a way you wouldn't expect. As you read the characters become part of you. In the end you decide who you love and hate and by the end of the book you'll find yourself wanting more. Five is the highest rate you can give but this is most definitely a 10/10 read. If you need a new series and love action and an amazing story line I recommend this book no questions asked and I can not wait for the next one!

Ghost had me hooked from the beginning. I just kept wanting to turn the pages so I could find out what was going to happen. It was dark, but entertaining and the author is able to capture the readers attention from beginning to end. If you like books with lots of action and intrigue then I would highly recommend reading this, and I cannot wait for the next one.
