A Jewish stockbroker planting bombs in fast food restaurants, diseased birds being sent through the mail and Homeland Security Special Agent Michael Poe wants to know what the connection is. What he finds is the stuff of nightmares and leads him on a chase to save the United States from oblivion.
Shawn Raymond Poalillo is a retired Special Agent from the Department of Homeland Security with over twenty-four years of federal law enforcement experience. He spent the bulk of these years investigating drug smuggling, money laundering and terrorism cases.
Poalillo is certified in federal court as an expert in the areas of money laundering, bank record analysis and telephone toll analysis and can give expert testimony.
Having attended LIU/CW Post College, the author holds a BA in psychology and business and also graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Glynco, Georgia.
"Writing is a great joy, each word a small victory. In my first novel - Rerun: A New Face of Terrorism - I tried to bring the realism of true-life law enforcement, something lacking in most novels of the genre, while mixing in an outlandish plot. Cops have a great time all the time. Nothing was serious until it had to be and then it became serious quickly.
"This same quality is seen in my third novel - The Girl With The Black Mark, another Special Agent Michael Poe story.
"Completely different is A Selfless Man, which is a departure from the other two and a more heart wrenching story.
"My goal is to entertain and take the reader away, if only briefly, to a different place. Enjoy!"
I read the second Special Agent Michael Poe book and loved it and had to go back and read the first. Just as good, but with a strange plot and I wondered from the start if the author could pull it off. Well, he did pull it off with a bang. Loved the characters, especially Samantha Doll!
This was a great suspense thriller. Good until the end, sit on the edge of your seat good. I gave a 5 star because I just could not put it down. I could see a movie of this story.
Murder, prison who should not be one, romance, great mystery. I was so wrapped up in the book, I didn't realize is reached that point. I did not like ending.
A brilliant terrorism thriller centered on the financial system that seems destined for the big screen.
Benjamin Aaronson is a stable, successful New York stockbroker with a loving family that he adores. Within days, he has inexplicably shorted the stock of an American burger chain and attempted to bomb three of its restaurants. Department of Homeland Security Special Agent Michael Poe wants to know why. A series of related events lead him to Aaronson, who explains the incredulous story of how he was drugged and threatened, with just one ominous explanation by his blackmailers: “Debts must be paid.”
Absolutely loved this terrorism novel. Agent Poe and agent Doll are great characters. I hope there is another book to start a series with these two characters. I can't give away the plot but I Did not see it going where it did. Multiple layers kept me wondering if they would prevail! Mr. Poalillo, you must write another!
I read the other Special Agent Michael Poe Books and had to read th first. Twisted plot and runaway story as in his other books. Not bogged down by inane descriptions. Great surreal characters, romance and sex.
Its interesting that the author is a retired Special Agent himself. Makes you wonder what weird stuff these guys see in their careers.
I recommend this series. Fun and hard to put down.
I didn't know where this book was going, but it kept me on the edge of my seat. Read it in two days. Fun character development, unfortunately I read the second Michael Poe book before this. Again, an outrageous plot, but the author pulled it off seamlessly. Well worth reading.
Great twist on several roads this book could have gone into. The book keeps the reader interested with just the right amount of description. I also liked how there was a slip In the story where we have all seen what would happen next.
Agent Poe works for The Department of Homeland Services in a unit dealing with unusual cases. The story begins when a man is forced to plant bombs in US Burger locations and months later deals with bizarre blackbirds through the US Postal service. Teamed with FBI agent Doll, this case gets stranger as it deals with a former Nazi doctor with plans to unleash with diseased victims attacking others.
It is a quick, action packed thriller and live sup to the name - a new face of terrorism
Started reading and couldn't put the book down. The plot twisted and turned all over. I didn't know where it was going but I had to find out. Great characters - you loved the good guys and hated the bad guys. Special Agents Michael Poe and Samantha Doll need to continue in the next book. And I heard another is coming soon. CAN'T WAIT!
