I wanted the villain origin story of J. F. Dulles. Instead, I got Anakin and then Darth Vader, with little transformation in between. I'm sure I wasn't meant to read this book, as a non-academic. But I had hoped for a beautiful and riveting story about the transformation of a peaceful and religious man into a war hawk. Sounds pretty riveting, no?
