This is a story of two old lovers meeting and a sequel to Pure Chemistry.

Brett is a veterinarian and Kailin is a trouble-shooter for industries, they meet again after eleven years. Brett was an activist who couldn't believe that someone like Kailin could love him, she was eighteen, rich and spoiled which made both of them easy for her father to manipulate and she got married and lost his baby.

Brett on the other hand too couldn't forget her but for most of the book there was not trust from Brett's side which we learn at the end is because he never forgave himself for not fighting for her enough.

I'm giving this book two stars for all the business info I learned; I found the wheeling and dealing fascinating, all the shrewd moves, maneuvers, even the less-than-ethical goings-on were entertaining. you learn a lot about what goes into putting together a deal, concessions made, compromises worked out, cost-saving shortcuts that are gotten away with, as well as the disasters that may result from trying to get too much while giving too little. That all kept me turning pages.

However, the MC didn't even rate one star, in my opinion. First of all, too much time went by. I don't have a problem with some years of separation, but 11 years was just way too much! are we really supposed to believe that they've loved each other that long from afar??? And if they were such "soulmates", you'd think they'd have more faith in each other than to let themselves be so easily manipulated back when they were first together. True, the h's father was controlling, domineering, and could twist the truth to suit his advantage, but both of them were too quick to believe his lies and much too quick to suspect the other. It was one of those spoiled rich girl vs. rebel guy from the wrong side of the tracks, so of course, her father wanted him out of her life. It didn't help that the H was an environmentalist protesting the wrongdoings by his company. Bad news all around.

Maybe she had some excuse, as she was only 19, and at that age you can be more easily manipulated. But he was 26, a veterinarian, an organizer of protests, independent and savvy, so for him, it's more of a stretch that he was so willing to think he worst of the girl he claimed to love.

I also hated it when he first meets her daughter, thinks she's his child and she doesn't tell him the truth (she's her late husband's), lets him keep thinking that's his daughter. Talk about crappy! She kept saying she didn't know how to tell him, COME ON!!! She should have said right away, "No, she's only 9-years-old, she couldn't be your daughter." That was it! Moron!!

If it wasn't for all the business stuff, I wouldn't have finished this. and if you have no interest in business, I suggest you don't even start.
