A Klepto Cat Mystery #14

Meow for the Money

Rate this book
In this story, Rags, the klepto cat, saves a beautiful Himalayan when he finds her near death one chilly night. Did this pampered kitty escape or was she abducted? Her wealthy owner, June Balcomb, can only guess. June is so grateful to Rags that she embraces the entire Ivey family, and Savannah and Rags become frequent visitors at the Balcomb estate. It doesn’t take Savannah long to realize someone close to June is out to harm her. The plot thickens when those June relies on most come under attack, her grandnephew is kidnapped, her attorney stabbed, and a trusted employee dies. When someone attempts to poison one of her cats, June agrees to bring in a whole new staff—all friends of the Iveys. Against the advice of others, she also hires a young woman who was only recently released from jail. Will things calm down for June once she has sent her staff and relatives away? Not until Detective Craig and Savannah, with a lot of help from Rags, start stirring things up.

I sometimes wonder if people realize how smart some cats really are--I know I am owned by a really smart cat! Well Rags is an exceptionally smart little guy--never mind that he is a kleptomaniac of the first degree! He knows when someone needs help and is there front and center. He saved the life of a kitty who was near death and when he saw her picture on the TV knew exactly who they were looking for. He convinced his family to follow him to where she was.

It turns out that this kitty was owned by a VERY rich older woman who was devastated. She actually owned 7 or was it 8 other cats who were all pampered and well cared for---as a matter of fact she was going to leave all her money to the person who would care for her cats. Now obviously there were people not too happy about this and things started to happen--

Savannah befriends June (the owner) and she, the baby and of course Rags end up spending a lot of time at this beautiful home. Then people started to go missing, were stabbed and were attempting to poison not only the cats--but the people as well. It took Savannah and her entire family to move into the house AND to get the staff replaced at least for a while until the culprit was found.

I loved the ending to this one--tissue box anyone? I just can't get enough of this series!!

This book fits in the series really well. Lot of the characters are animals. Tons of cats. I am more of a dog person but do enjoy A Klepto Cat Mysteries.

Meow for the Money starts out with a news story about a cat that was taken and a big reward for his return. Rags of course his the hero and finds the cat and saves her life.
June Balcomb is a 90 year old wealthy woman who loves her cats. She does not know who to trust. She becomes fast friends with Savannah and friends.

June wants to leave everything to her cats. People around her are not happy. People are getting hurt and murdered.

This is a fast read, plenty of laughter, cats and mystery to be found in Meow for the Money.

The regular cast of characters like the Ivy's and their pets, plus lots of new cbaracters to meet.
You can read alone but better if you read the books in order. Because it does follow the Ivy's family.

I was given this ebook to read for free by the author in return I agreed to give a honest review of Meow for the Money.

He does it again

As usual Rags is up to his old tricks. This time he finds some very special people to share his "skills" with. Everybody is here from the previous books and they all are involved in helping a sweet lady and her house full of cats. If you enjoyed all the past adventures that Rags has helped with, then this book is one you won't be able to put down.

A fun read especially for cat lovers

I so enjoyed this book and the great cast of characters. It was a pretty quick read, and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next, especially with Rags. Though there were a few errors, they didn't take away from enjoyment of the book. I recommend this book and author to any cosy mystery fans.

Loved it!

Cover to cover loved the mystery, who-dunnit that kept you guessing until the end.
As a cat lover, all the characters of the kitties brought a smile to my face, as well as all the characters that helped Miss June until the end of the last chapter. I would recommend to anyone who loves a good mystery.
