This book has been in my TBR pile for a while, I think I got it in a bag of books at a book sale. I was in the mood for something funny so why not try, Love and Laughter"? It was moderately funny, I think I liked the middle story best, The Marrying Man, which doesn't surprise me because I've read Barbara Britton before and I Ike her. The other two stories were by authors I didn't know and I didn't love either story. Lass Small's Gus is Back sounded promising, I liked the idea that Gus had held a torch for Cara for many years but the characters and the story line never really came together (and I don't care the reason don't put TEXAS in all caps, it was annoying). One Way Ticket by Elsie Title was interesting because everything kept going wrong but it was written in a way to make you feel tired for reading it more than enjoying the escapades. The ending where Maria and Sean had to explain what had happened was actually more amusing than reading about the happenings in the first place.

I really liked the first two stories.

One Way Ticket - two people on a bus trip to LA, one to get married and another to write a screenplay. But they keep having misadventures that get them off track and interested in each other. Cute story with likable leads.

The Marrying Man - Author and mother of five has a handsome efficiency expert foist on her. He doesn't believe family is for him and she doesn't want to change her routine. Fun to read the banter, good leads.

Gus is Back - Cara is coming out of her daze and invites Gus to the high school reunion. I normally really like Lass Small stories, but Gus came across as a chauvinistic jerk who didn't put out one iota of effort to court Cara. Cara was pretty spoiled as well, so not very sympathetic. Not my cup of tea, although I did like her aunt.
