Love, truth, and pain lie buried beneath the Sunset at Lake Crane . . . 3 Stars.
It’s been about twelve hours since I’ve finished this book and I’m still not entirely sure how to write my review. So I’m just going to go with the flow here and be as objective as a possible can.
I don’t usually go for the teacher/student trope but this happened years later so that made it all the better in my book.
Erynn falls in love with her former teacher, Grant Alexander, just after graduation. Nothing happened

In order to bask in the sunset, there has to be some rain. For Erynn and Grant that rain came in the form of a torrential storm cloud of secrets, blackmail and heartbreak that continues to impact their lives years later. What happens when secrets take on a life of their own, but love refuses to die? Ms. Hagen continues to enthrall readers with her tales of heart-wrenching romance and awe inspiring love. Once you step into a story by Casey Hagen, you'll never look at romance the same.

Review by Jen Hagen
Erynn and Grant had a summer fling. She had just graduated from high school and he had been her senior year English teacher. They did nothing wrong – she was of legal age and he was not fraternizing with his student, but yet somebody thought this behavior was worth a scandal. Erynn is young and makes a rash decision that she believes is the right one. Erynn is also alone as she has no immediate family remaining following a car accident that claimed the life of her parents. Sh

Really enjoyed this story.

It's an emotional roller-coaster but worth the ride. When an author can pull you in and make you feel so much for the characters it's always an entertaining and enjoyable story.

Romance, mystery, lost love, hope, heartbreak, deceit, forgiveness and betrayal woven into a steamy second chance at love story.

Both Grant and Erynn are great characters. Each is struggling with the inner turmoil that has been with them since Erynn

Erynn and Grant what a tale of secrets. The cost of it’s secret made me sad and dropped a few tears and I wanted to embrace Erynn hug her like a mother would. Grant I felt his pain just as much as Erynn, so much crap they had to endure all because, ‘ahem’ S-E-C-R-ET-S. This story exudes a roller coaster of tense emotions whether you side with Erynn or Grant. Other characters you will laugh with Kat, tough as nails and a mouth to boot but there’s a reason why but a true friend to Erynn. I laughed ...more

Sunset at Lake Crane, Casey Hagen

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance,
This sounded fun, sometimes I want a straightforward romance, but it still needs to have some fireworks and drama! From the description I thought this would fit the bill.
I found it one of those reads though that I can best describe as there's a lot going on but nothing happening....so much of the day to day stuff just didn't seem relevant to the main story.

Erynn annoyed me so much. I understood her actions at

Oh wow this was brilliant. I've never read anything by Casey Hagen before and went into this book not expecting anything and was truly impressed. What a mix of emotions throughout the book - love, heartache, tragedy, suspense, mystery and a bit of hot sex....this story has it all. I enjoyed the characters and their stories and struggled to put the book down. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

HOLY MAC!! I LOVED this book so much! Going into this book, I was clueless on what to expect. I noticed that beautiful cover, read the synopsis and decided to give it a try. Never in a million years did I think I would love it this much! I had a huge book hangover after I finished this book.

Casey Hagen had me laughing, snot sobbing crying and everything else in between as I read this story. I loved how she stirred all my emotions with just one story. So stinking good. Casey Hagen now has a new

Sunset at Lake Crane is a story about love and forgiveness. A love that could have been the greatest love, that one person took away because of jealousy. This is a story about consuming love, loss, pain, lies, and learning to forgive.

This was my first book by Casey Hagen. I received Sunset at Lake Crane for a blog tour in exchange for my honest review.

We meet Erynn, fresh from work, when she receives a dire warning accompanied by a photo of her kissing her ex-teacher (since she's already graduated) outside his cottage that very same morning...Leave Grant Alexander now, leave town-no contact with Grant at all- or risk ruining your reputations and him losing his job...well, 19 yr old Erynn really has no choice.

I don’t really know how I feel. So I am going to break this down and go from there. I loved that Grant was a teacher, and Erynn was a former student. No it wasn’t creepy at all.

I loved the setting of this book so much, the lake it was like I could see it in my head so very clearly. The peace and quiet that would bring. Very much liked Grants next door neighbor.

Here is where I scratch my head a little. So Erynn was blackmailed to leave, she does and now that she is back and doi

I really enjoyed this story a lot. 19 year old, Erynn O'Neal was faced with blackmail, so in order to protect the man she loved, she disappeared out of his life with no goodbye. She's broken, but she would do anything to keep him safe, even at the cost of her own heart. Grant Alexander is Erynn's teacher, but doesn't get together with her until 2 months after her graduation, which still could be construed as inappropriate. He accepted the risks because he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his ...more

Love, lies, deceit, heartache, and second chances all rolled into one. Casey’s writing sucked me in right from the beginning. This book is an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish.

Eyrnn and Grant started dating a few months after graduation. They had a great relationship and a wonderful connection, but someone in town didn’t want these two to be together. Erynn did what she thought was right in order to save Grant’s career and reputation. Now years later,

When I first came across this book the gorgeous cover is what caught my eye. It is simply stunning. Then after I read the blurb I just knew this would be one that I would love and I was right.

This novel tells a story of erryn and grant. They fell in love the summer after she graduated high school. Erryn is not your typical girl she has been through pain, despair, heartbreak at the age of 19 and trying to fit in a small town and not knowing where she belongs.

At first I was so not planning on taking a risk on this one because it has a storyline that I was just starting to open to but then I thought better and said I'll take a chance. I'm glad I did. I liked it because it was somewhat what I expected to be but it wasn't too much to handle. The only thing that I didn't like much is Erynn.

Don't get me wrong, I liked her character but sometimes I feel like she's too confusing. Even I don't get her when most of the time it's the heroine who is easy to

4 STARS (narrator Russell Lord - 2 STARS)

This is a love story with an interesting twist. We have heard of the teacher/student many times and also know that it is a forbidden kind of love or crush. However, for some people love really happens and Sunset at Lake Crane really does it justice.

The story is well-written and the characters are well-developed. The main characters Erynn and Grant shows a lot of emotion and holds a lot of pain. Each one of them holds many secrets as the story develops.

This book featured strong characters that pull you in from the beginning and don't let go until you turn the last page. Erynn and Grant are well-rounded, fully developed characters and you will love spending time with them. Some good twists and turns here, which is always welcome. My one quibble was that I wish there had been a bit more compelling reason that kept them apart during the course of the story. I just didn’t find it really believable that Erynn would receive one threatening note and ...more

I fell in love with Grant and Erynn's story. What would you do if you were threatened to either leave town or your lover's career would be ruined? What if your liver was your former teacher? Erynn didn't want to risk Grant's job, so she ran. Eight years later, Grant finds out Erynn is writing for a magazine. He has to get her to come back, even if that means she will be interviewing him. Neither one has ever forgotten or gotten over the other. I was touched by this story. Love is a crazy thing. ...more

An emotional, yet heartwarming read, Sunset at Lake Crane follows the love story of Grant and Erynn. In a different time, Grant and Erynn thought they had found love. Skeptical of the watchful eyes of their small town, they were oblivious to the prying shadows that lay waiting to rip everything out from other them in a matter of hours.

Casey is a relatively new author that I am so glad that I discovered. Her words were touching, yet provided you with just the right amount of angst that makes for

OMG.... Love the character's, the storyline. A tear of happiness when Grandma acknowledged her. I shed a sad tear when I could feel the emotion when Walt came and she danced with him. I laughed when Avery showed up.Then it really kicks into gear and gets a little sexy and hot!
Then I went from blushing to giggles, then sad to scared. And Then you went and just blew me up, and I cried. Then I mourned with them and accepted and once again, (never really stopping) fell in love.

I loved this story..It was emotional and sweet, tender and at times so hot!
Erynn at 19 has to leave the love of her life behind..just disappear..because someone threatened her and she feels that's the best decision.
Grant can't understand and explain why Erynn just vanished and he is rightfully mad and hurt.
A mistake brings Grant to find Erynn..The best chance to show her what it feels like to be abandoned.
Reality is their love is still strong..
What happens when the past comes back to haunt them

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

This was a great read! At times I felt it did drag a bit but not for long. Before I knew it, I was eagerly swiping pages to see how Grant and Erynn's story played out. There were a few little editing issues I found to be on the side of annoying and those kept me from giving this a full 5 stars. It was mainly mixing up of character names. Other than that, I couldn't find much else wrong with this book.
This is my first Casey Hagen read and I look forward to reading more fr
